Anyone else who ordered a Ewan the dream sheep when they were on offer I recommend checking over the stitching. My LG has only had hers in her moses basket for a week but last night I discovered some stuffing was coming out as it hadn't been stitched very well. I emailed the manufacturer who seemed to know which batch number it was which makes me think there might be a faulty batch about. Anyho they were fab and are sending me out a replacement tomorrow. I'm glad they are sending another as DD loves it so much

Kscarlet - do you know the batch number so I can check mine?
OH did call me up a bit later on today and apologised for telling me off regarding the books. He says he thinks it's lovely that I am thinking about ways to educate our childand that I was right to get the books. He's just worried that the house will be full to the rafters...he loves an exaggeration

 Hi ladies
Congratulations Finch!
I'm quiet mostly cos I'm knackered and still recovering, and tbh, don't really know what to say! I never feel like I have much news/to contribute
I saw the anaesthetist yesterday (consultant referred me to see them for 'just in case's etc.) She seemed to think that given her (admittedly slightly skewed sample) experience of ladies with my condition(s), they tend to need more rather than less/same anaesthetic/painkillers. I'm hoping it won't be true in my case, of course, but it's good to be prepared. There's nothing I can do but wait and see how it goes at the time, but at least I know that it's possible/likely so can prepare mentally for the possibilities, iyswim?
My consultant last week told me I could be referred back for earlier induction if my pain/fatigue/symptoms get too much to take too, so that's encouraging/reassuring to have as a fall-back option. I don't want to induce, but it's nice to know that it's possible if I'm really struggling. I am struggling, but I'm choosing to believe it's a normal level of struggle atm. And after all, I'm technically full term next week (!), so anything could happen in the next 6 weeks
MiniZee is most definitely head down and engaged again still. I'm really perfecting the waddle now
My midwife today (and anaesthetist yesterday too, actually) looked at me very expectantly when she asked if I/we had everything ready for MiniZee... it spurred me into putting the rest of the washing in and packing MiniZee's hospital (and extras for the car) bags and most of mineThere's just the odd bits to add now. The carseat base arrived last week and I need to check that fits ok with our length of seatbelt (I've read some reviews where people have issues) etc and then I'm pretty much ready, I think...
Decided to give the breastfeeding workshop a miss tonight...I have somewhat mixed feelings about whether I should/shouldn't've gone, and always have had, but in the end fatigue and anxiety won out. We (me and DH) did have a logical discussion about the pros and cons too, but tbh, I feel like I've read and seen enough to be going on with - and anything else that I'll want answered is more likely to be at the time/if things aren't going well when bubs is here... Does that make sense?
Amyloofoo - I can't believe you're full term now! (or that I'm now 6th!) How're you doing?

BigZ sounds like a positive meeting, especially if they'll induce if your symptoms get too much although i was under the impression you was having a c section?
I have my breastfeeding workshop next wednesday so I'll let you know what's said and scan in any leaflets I get if you like. there may not be much information that's useful ahead of time as you say, you don't know how you or your baby are going to be as it'll be completely new to the both of you, but i'm hoping i'll be able to ask a few questions about bigboobed feeding as i'm worried i'm going to struggle to get going
nursery furniture comes today :j was at parents last night for tea so said to mum she didn't have to wait in all day, we'll sort it if it turned out we didn't get an hour slot etc etc and she said she had a plan for the day and 'it's not often i get to help you out' which was lovely
she was also shocked at the idea that we want to take little miss to a wedding at the beginning of April in South London as she thinks its too far with one so little, she'll be 8 weeks if she comes on her due date, so that got me all hepped up. but really we'll be going the day before to make sure we have plenty of time for pit stops and she should still be in her moses basket so we can just take that. but of course me being me i couldn't sleep for worrying about it lol
today is my last ever day of clerking admission appeals, all the 'easier' 2 stage kind but worried about having to sit still leant over a desk writing for hours - won't be able to get up and walk around if little miss decides she wants to be in her favourite 'head banging against pubic bone, legs under ribs' position which is really uncomfy when i'm sat down lol I've asked her politely not to do that but i'm sure she doesn't listen to me lol
Does anyone know what their OHs are getting them for christmas? I've asked him for what (material possessions) I really really want more than anything in the world- a comfy set of pyjamas :rotfl: was nearly crying in my hormonal state telling him what kind I'd like, with a dressing gown and slippers too.
He's also going to take me for a nice meal on Christmas Eve as I'd love a chance to dress up and it'll be our last adult Christmas Eve - next year we should be playing father christmas for our lady's first christmas :jLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Got Married April 20110 -
TL - I was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago and there was a little 6 week old there who was as good as gold. Didn't hear a peep from him and they stayed at the reception until about 9.30! Luckily the bar was in a seperate room from the music so they set the little one up in his pram and he just slept and woke for cuddles occasionally. He wasn't a problem at all (and was better behaved than most of the toddlers!)0

Kscarlet - thanks, I've emailed them anyway as mine is the same batch. I can't tell if the stitching is bad although it doesn't look that great round the neck so will see what they say.
BigZ - our nct breastfeeding session was heavily pushing breastfeeding and didn't say much about expressing or formula. I left it feeling bad for any of the Mums that didn't want to exclusively breastfeed as it was so pushy. If it's any consolation I'm a week ahead of you and can only do short bursts now with lots of breaks as I get completely exhausted, I can totally sympathise with my Mum's M.E. at the moment as I feel as tired as I did when I first had my thyroid out it's so frustrating. Sending positive vibes that you get a natural labour though.
TL - our breastfeeding session they said you can have the baby up whichever way you want, upside down if you like, whichever is easiest for you there isn't a right or wrong way. You just have to make sure they're shoving boob and nip in their mouth not just the nipple. I asked my OH for pjs for my birthday, I love them as they're so comfy and they have little "I love you" squirrels on them from M&5. For Christmas he's got me a food mixer (bought by me and he paid me back in the sale) and a nice towelling dressing gown (also bought by me in the sale lol). You know you're getting old when you ask for kitchen appliances and nightclothes for Christmas and birthdays. Saying that, I've got him a watch, slippers and a dressing gown but he's 37 and I'm 27 so I feel he should be getting slippers and socks for xmas.
AFM - OH has told me there's been a spate of burglaries in the area recently and the people doing them aren't very clever. So I'm now laid in bed worrying that someone will break in. I might have to check the local news to find out where this has been going on to try to put my mind at ease. Ooh and I *think* I'm full term today, she's due on a Wednesday so that makes me 37w today right? Or is it tomorrow?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
