claire - I'm on annual leave until the 31st when I start maternity leave. I've been off since the 29th, it's fine as long as your employer approves it and you have the holiday available :)

re: pee pots, I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates the test tube type ones. I always end up meticulously wiping them down as I get more on the outside than the inside :(

Just seen photos of the first baby from our NCT group, he's a little cutie. Can't believe that's what my little one looks like at the moment. Good weight on him too of 6lb 13!

  • Probably being really dull, what's a GTT test?

Kynthia, what accountancy membership are you working towards? I sat (hopefully) my last ACCA exams last week - really need to get the other bits sorted while I'm still working but have very little motivation!

A Glucose Tolerance Test. To see if you are developing gestational diabetes. Often performed at 28 weeks pregnant if you have glucose in your urine or risk factors but sometimes done earlier if you have had it in previous pregnancies

Thanks :) Clearly I'm not having one of those!

I finished CIMA exactly two years ago but never got around to getting my membership sorted. Now with the restructure at work I think it would be a good idea to be fully qualified by the interviews (if I even have one as they're around my due date). I studied and did most of the exams while also planning my wedding and getting promoted at work. These things seem to happen at once with me, or I refuse to wait and do them one at a time. :rotfl: Good luck with your last exam results, is it February you get them?

Claire, I'm already taking a week before my official 10th Feb start date but January is a really busy month so I doubt I'll get time to take many days off. I just can't wait until my February whole month off!!! I might even organise a quick baby shower/house warming as it would be nice to make a few more 'pregnancy memories'.

It was really strange earlier. I was just laying on the sofa when suddenly I felt a sharp pain internally low down and nearly wet myself for a second even though I didn't cough or sneeze and my bladder wasn't feeling full. I think baby gave my bladder a really good kick or punch!:rotfl:

    Morning all!

Good to hear I'm not the only one struggling with those test tubes! :D

I'm still undecided on when and how much holiday to use pre mat leave. Officially I'm leaving on 14th March (38+2!) but will use at least a weeks hol to finish earlier. Might even go down to a 3 day week near the end. We'll see hoe I get on! I commute to Northampton ever day so it depends how the hours drive gets when I'm much bigger.

I'm very jealous of those of you finishing this year and getting to meet your babies soon.

Oh and I'm feeling very uncomfortable this morning. Think baby has moved overnight and is now resting on my bladder!

sijou - I found commuting from Bristol to Cardiff to be really tiring, not just uncomfortable, from around 30w onwards so much so that I dreaded the one day a week I had to commute. It might be easier for you though as I have an underlying medical condition that makes me more tired anyway.

Just seen there's 15% off Book People plus cashback and a free gift when you spend £40. I'm stocking up on baby books as I've just realised I have none, whoops! Lots of bedtime stories and board books coming our way :) She'll have more books than anything else at this rate.

I do one day a week at home atm, so think I may increase that too. My boss is pretty good and understanding.

Only 5 weeks left at work for me! :j I know what you mean about having too much on Kynthia, I desperately want some time off just to rest and recover because everything is so sore, every day I think 'Ah, I could just sack today off and call in sick' but then I remember there are things I need to do that day so struggle into the office and mope about my aches whilst my OH says I'm mental! :o With Christmas coming up we've got loads of fun things happening too which I don't want to miss! :)

Baby found my ribs yesterday, it was so painful feeling like there was a limb stuck underneath one! :o I was trying to poke baby into a more comfortable position last night and OH told me off because I might be hurting him... if it was his innards being bashed he'd be poking the baby too! :p
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
