I have 9 working days left- this week, 3 days next week then a day each the two weeks after. Seems like I've been pregnant forever but the last 6/8 weeks have flown by, can't believe I'm nearly out of there :D x

thanks for the reminder ladies, I see the MW on weds.

I asked for some pots last time and was present by what I can only describe as a test tube!
think I'm'm going to have to dig out a disposable cups and then decant into said test tube, no chance I'm going to be able to aim that well!

Does seem like a waste of resources Birdie!

I had to pee in one of those at the hospital.

The result was me peeing on my jeans & hand!! And a tiny bit in there. Don't know why they changed the tub things to those! Luckily when I got asked on the second visit I was given a plastic cup!
  • Good Luck with the GTT results Becca.

Jox - they don't do a GTT on everyone. If there is no glucose in you urine samples and you have no risk factors (age, high BMI, pcos, family histoy) then you probably won't need one.

Congrats to the ladies about to go on maternity leave. I had planned to be on mine by now but the diabetes diagnosis meant I am putting it off for as long as possible as my job is very physical (farmer) and the exercise helps keep my blood glucose steady.

I aways seem to be carrying around a urine sample, between the midwife appointments, diabetic appointments and consultant appointments it better just to have some in your bag ready:p

Regarding baby kicks - Mine doesn't keep me awake at night but he is really active right before bed and then again first thing in the morning when I get up. Hopefully Angelmommy is right he will keep the same pattern when he is born:rotfl: My SIL was kept awake by hers all night during pregnancy and her baby is practically noctural now it is born.

Good Luck with your drug and alcohol test Birdie:rotfl:

I had the diabetes clinic again and the Doc managed to put some of my fears to rest and I am going to stay unmedicated for as long as possible. He is the second medical professional to refer to my baby as a 'parasite' that will keep taking what it needs despite the restricted diet and he is certain that the diet is not the reason for his slower growth over the last fortnight.

I'm surprised as I've only ever been given the test tube style sample pots and didn't know there was any other shape. I never remember to do it before my appointment. Therefore I've done 3 samples in the tiny cubicle at the GPs, and 3 in the big but filthy loo in the antenatal area at the hospital. I get it all down the outside of the tube and on my hand, which is gross, embarrassing and fidlely. :(

I'm finishing work at the end of Jan and can't wait!!! However I still have leave I need to take before then and can't see when I can take it. I've got two weeks to get my application done for roles in the new structure, as well as progress our house purchase. Then I have NCT classses over the Xmas break and I want to get my accountancy membership finalised before job interviews take place in Febraury. Don't know when I'm going to find time buy anything for the baby! Anyone else got too much on at the moment?
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

Great news :D I have been medicated since 16 weeks regardless of diet and am so looking forward to being injection free!

Can you start your mat leave with holiday?

I'm planning on leaving mid feb, but want to start with my 4 weeks hol before official mat leave starts.

De-lurking to post this for gro bags. I haven't ordered from them, just got the e mail today.

I bought from Mothercare & Tescos - both in the sale. 2.5 tog though. The Mothercare one 'bobbled' from first wash - my Mum asked if it was second hand!

Hope everyone is OK. My LO is now 10lb 12 & had her 6 week health visitor check today. All is well. All my pregnancy woes seem a distant memory - you have all got great times to come. Even the night feeds (IMO) are fine as you can get some snuggly cuddles & smiles. Good luck to you all. x

Ooh I forgot about my GTT test results - was told I would find out today, Monday, and if there was a problem they would call....no call = everything is fine! yay no call so I'm a happy bunny :D

I am finishing on 31st January, 3 weeks of leave before mat leave for 9 months then leave before back to work this time next year. (Our holidays run jan-dec)

I too have a test tube pee pot, it is so hard to aim now with bump in the way, going to have to pee into something bigger and transfer...
