I actually quite enjoyed that article and agreed with most of it - not sure if it's just 'cause I'm sick of people thinking it's fair game to comment on my bump now.
I'm probably just being overly hormonal but it's actually getting quite upsetting when people give me the "I wasn't any bigger at full term than you are now.." or "I know someone who had a 13lb baby *nudge nudge*" and when I mentioned I realised last night that I only have 1 newborn vest (no idea how that happened!) and my colleague was like "ppft, you'll be needing 3-6 month" - I honestly could have cried and/or snapped her face off!
Yeah people are idiots, but I think a lot of the time they just feel like they have to say something or make some kind of comment, but what comes out of their mouth is offensive garbage!
I was shocked at being asked 'was it planned'! who asks that?!
I also identified with the bit in the article about avoiding alcohol etc and people making remarks. I stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol last year for a while to see if I felt any health benefits, nothing to do with TTC or being pregnant, and lots of my colleagues were saying 'oooh got something to tell us?!' which is SO inappropriate!Just a quick question for anyone who joined the boots parenting club - did it take forever to get your welcome pack sent out? I know it says up to 4 weeks in the email but I wasn't expecting it to actually take this long!
Yeah mine took a while, I thought they'd forgotten me to be honest.0 -

I've lost count the number of people who have asked if it was planned - so have ceased to care!
I get more p+++ed off when people feel they have the right to question my decision if I choose to have a glass of wine or heaven forbid a shandy!
My baby, my body, my choice!
That said I do get annoyed when I see pg women outside the maternity ward having a fag - so on reflection I am a hypocrite!0 -
Why not try, "No it wasn't planned and I don't know who the father is as It was convieved during a gangbang. Just got to see what race it comes out" Might shut them up and get a little embarrassed about asking that kind of thing again.
I personally wouldn't have the guts though :rotfl: I always think of good things to say before and wuss out saying it or after which annoys me when I think of a good comebackWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

Not really. 1 or 2 glasses of wine isn't going to hurt the baby. Continuous smoking is causing quite a bit of damage So I know what you meanWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
I don't think you are a hypocrite for that! there are NHS guidelines that say one or two units a week is ok, but nowhere does it say the occasional fag is ok! Alcohol has health benefits to adults too (red wine, Guinness, etc) whereas cigs are just bad for everyone!0

Cross posted with you nene!
Love your response to "was it planned?"! hahaha0 -

LOL, For guinness to be "healthy" you need atleast 10 pints of the stuff :rotfl: then I'm thinking you're kind of missing the point about it being healthy drinking that muchWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
For anyone needing anything from boots they've got an advantage card offer of 750 pts if you spend £50 online (£30 in store I think) plus 10% off if you spend £80 on baby stuff.
Tried to order my isofix base but the website it refusing to let me check out so I'll try again at home later! My Debt Free Diary

I totally agree with you all about the comments. I'm sick of being told I'm big, small, neat bump, carrying all round.... Endless.
I've been asked if it was planned. Been asked if I planned the timing accurately as this way I get full maternity pay but wouldn't of if it'd been a few months later (fixed term contract). I've been asked when I'm going back to work (oh you'll change your mind about going back after 8m once you see your baby). "You can't possibly plan to work full time, what's the point in having a baby?"
I've been told I'm difficult to cook for as they couldn't make me seafood, nuts, feta cheese, caffeinated tea. I explained I've not avoided any of those things and felt very judged...0 -
I get asked all the time if the baby was planned, its not as though
I'm 14!
I'm 28 years old, been married for 4 years and had ivf (which failed!) so yes it was planned, but i planned it 4 years ago and it took a long time.
Ive had someone tell me earlier that she cant believe ive got 8 weeks left with the size of me.....
The biggest thing thats annoying me is people guessing the sex, if u could tell from the outside or my shape people wouldnt need scans to do it.
And if i wanted to know the sex i would have asked, but i didnt..Still here..... but working on that!0
