Shhh..!!! I love Guiness and have decided to have a half when I get to 30 weeks as a little treat - I'm telling myself it's ok cos it's got iron in it and my mum drank it when she was pregnant!0 -
I keep getting told that surely I can't have much longer in work (3 1/2 weeks) as I am so huge now, then get the sympathy "it's going to be massive, are you sure you've only got one in there". The look on their faces goes from surprise to horror when I tell them smugly that there are another 3 weeks to go after I finish and then I inform them politely that yes there is only one in there, but if they stand too close I am likely to drop at any moment and it will probably be a fire breathing dragon after it's mother. They tend not to ask again for at least two days lol.
On the same day I can get "oh what a lovely neat bump, can I touch it?" Aww bless you BUT STILL NO!!!!
Another favourite is "you don't even look pregnant from behind, it must be a boy". Nothing to do with the fact that I have never looked overweight from behind as I never put anything on my hips just on the front of my stomach and the back of my butt. You are probably right, but if I wanted to know the sex I would have asked the sonographer not left it up to a professional opinion such as yours.
The final one that got to me the other day was the cashier serving me in the supermarket who was talking to her friend who was in the queue behind me about her grandchild being born and taken into SCBU. The she announced to her friend (while looking at me and raising her voice so that I would hear if I hadn't already) "Oh we shouldn't be talking about this with a big fat pregnant lady here" OY - less of the big and fat if you don't mind! Grrr0 -

Oh my god, I like to think I'd have slapped her but really I'd probably have cried!
Just did a quick budget for when I'm on SMP and it looks like I'll have £992.44 per month after bills but before shopping. That cannot be right - I don't have that much now! Waiting for OH to finish his training at work so he can look at it and tell me what I've missed out - Does anything jump out at you guys as missing?

Thanks lovelies.
Nene this is for when it drops to £136 odds which is why it's so baffling!
Nutshell we're in Scotland so have no water rates to pay, car insurance and tax are paid up to after I go back to work and we have a MOT/service plan paid also....and we use the inlaws netflix for free
We currently have £50 p/week going into a savings account which is sitting about £450 just now but have to pay the carpet fitting out of that next week (£130) and should get about £800 fostering money for the fortnight in July which I'm hoping to keep as an emergency fund.
OH emailed back to say "You know how these things work clare – a tenner here, 20 there, for each of us – before you know it you’re skint." which is probably right but £500 worth (accounting for a hell of a lot of food shopping!)?!My Debt Free Diary
