  • Congratulations Amy! Hope you are doing ok and glad your DH could stay overnight. I had a transfusion years ago, it's a slightly gutting feeling but you've donated for 10 years which is an amazing achievement. Xx

  • Sorry if TMI but I am losing large amounts of my plug now, I'm hoping it's baby saying she's getting ready for sun roof entrance next week. DH feels a bit anxious that she isn't ready to come out and her being 'forcefully evicted' is going to cause distress but hopefully the plug is a sign she's ready to come out.
Just getting final bits ready this weekend, how is everyone feeling? Xx

Ooh it's soon- Tuesday isn't it Scarlett?

I think my baby is far too comfy now. I went out for a little while last night and it all felt like too much iykwim. Booked in for a sweep on Tuesday.

  • Hi ladies

congratulations to amy....hope you are allowed out today, I love the name Bethany and would be on my list if we were having a girl.

well I am over my cold now, lots of rest and fluids did the job, still trying to rest as much as possible as the slightest of time on my feet and my back and hips hurt followed by swollen ankles.

been having a few tiffs with DH over his drinking, feel awful but its just no fun for me when he is !!!!ed and I am not. I would rather the money he spent on beer go towards a meal out of both of us or on the baby etc I just feel it is a waste of money when we are suppose to be saving. waiting for him to wake up so he can tidy the living room up which is littered with cans. Pregnancy is making me a right moaning of c0w!!

hope you all have a lovely weekend,

    MrsBunny

  • Yes Vic :/ feeling slightly anxious but I'm sure it'll be ok. I'm finding walking even short distances such a painful effort at the moment so it will be a relief! That's early for a sweep I wasn't offered one until my due date has passed. Not long now! X

Congratulations Amy :j:j Glad the birth all went well. Sounds scary with the bleeding afterwards tho :( I didn't bleed much at all last time despite a 3rd degree tear so I guess its just luck of the dice with these things. Hope you are able to go home soon :D

TL - thanks, I thought the same about when their new grandbaby comes. Tis all a bit odd. I was thinking I would go and clear the air until my dad came and 'told me off' in front of my work colleagues. Am feeling a bit miffed really. And I aren't in a rush to contact them at all now, so no doubt they will be feeling a bit anxious that I have had the baby and not told them. Not that I would do that to them, but I bet they will be worried. I've always had a bit of a strained relationship at times with my mum. She wants to control what I do still, and didn't want to let go of me and I'm quite a stubborn little thing when I want to be so its not really a good mix. We had some major issues when DD was born, and it looks like round 2 is about to all start :o Could quite do without it all to be honest!!! Hope you managed to watch yr favourite show :D I loves a tactical nap

SmlSave - I can totally see their logical on why I need to wait to have any corrective surgery to it - but at the same time its not nice kind of living with it at times... I am worried that pushing this baby out will make it worse as well. I've had a consultant appt about the tearing, as I am keen to go natural and don't want a C-section unless completely necessary. She said that scar tissue will tear more easily than normal tissue, so I am in danger again :o I don't have any symptoms from it last time tho so I healed very well. They did talk about a colostomy bag last time as they were unsure it would repair :( _pale_ So to say all I have ended up is with a skin tag then I suppose I did really well. But it would just be a lot nicer to not have the skin tag as well :rotfl:

KScarlet - I keep losing bits of my plug bit nowts happening down there :rotfl: I think if it has blood on it then it means labour is closer - but if its just snotty then I think it could be weeks away still. Am sure baby will hang in their for your date - but if you do set off naturally they can still do a section if that's the plan.

Vic - I'm booked in Monday for a sweep. Is this yr 1st? I think they do sweeps at due date for your first baby, but make you wait til 41 weeks for your second. I did tell the midwife I didn't want to go and see her on Monday unless I had a baby in my arms :o

Mrsbunny - glad you are feeling a bit better now. I think some fellas get a little crazy during pregnancy and feel like its their 'last chance' to have fun. My ex was like that and it did cause a few arguments at the time when he was puking in a bucket as was unable to walk due to being so drunk  DH is very different and we haven't had any issues, but I have a 7 yr old too, so life is different for us and more family orientated anyways with us preferring a meal out. I can't even remember going out to 'just' drink - I think I'm too old now :o I like a vino, but more like with a nice meal as well - and a pudding, lol! Hope you manage to get your point across to him soon. I find early mornings are a super time to put the hoover on :rotfl:

AFM - I had a fab nights sleep :j Managed to lie in til 8.30am and then laze around for a while longer. And then had a gingerbread latte, fresh orange and a bacon butty :D I am savouring the peace as no doubt that will be the last time for some considerable time :rotfl: Am ready to have baby now tho - so if you could all send labour vibes that would be fab

Phew, I just walked the 10 mins and back to the postoffice and it took me an hour instead of the usual 20 mins. Now I think I need a nap :rotfl:

Congratulations Amy!!!! Glad you and baby are safe :)

Went to the hospital last night to be monitored as baby wasn't moving. Hooked me up and monitored his heartbeat for 20 mins and suprise suprise he starts moving. Everything ok thankfully. He must have just had a lazy afternoon I think. Still had me worrying my a** off though :o

Only issue is he is still breech (confirmed last night). I will be 36 weeks tomorrow and the little devil is still snuggled head upwards. Have a midwife apt next week to discuss next steps. They said they would discuss possible ECV. Anyone ever has this done?

I am very uncomfortable with the idea at the moment. A lady at my work told me her daughter had it done and they attempted to move the baby for about 10 mins. He got so distressed, his heartrate dropped and they ended up with an emergency c-section as his oxygen supply was practically cut off...... Obviously not a success story I would have liked to have heard. And I have heard it only works 50% of the time and even then some babies bounce back into breech shortly after.

The more I research the more I am put off the idea. If you have been in this position or know someone who has, please share what happened. Any stories or advice welcome.

    Thanks x

Hi Lippy, do they not allow a breech birth? I had a family member who lives abroad who was breech, they did scans and measurements and were happy for her to give birth that way. Apparently all the staff were hoping she would come in when they were on shift as they were excited to be involved. I don't know what the criteria were, it wasn't her first child, but everything went well.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

Lippy one of my friends had an ECV with her baby in March. They did manage to turn him, even though she has a heart shaped womb, and she had a natural birth in the end. Another friend's little brother was born naturally after an ECV in Sept too.

I'm not surprised you have reservations, after hearing the "horror stories" I would too, but it clearly does work for some. I think it partly comes down to how much you want to avoid a c section if that's your only other option.

Personally, I think I'd be tempted to wait longer than 36 weeks to have it attempted though, to give baby more chance of turning on his own...But again, it's more about what your gut is telling you :)
