Congratulations Amy, lovely news! So pleased she arrived safely and you are both okay.

I'm very surprised you managed to avoid a transfusion having lost so much blood, 2.5l is a MASSIVE amount. Make sure they look after you xxx

Congratulations Amy. That's a really good weight and sounds like the labour wasn't too bad. Hope you feel better soon and out quickly xx

    Thanks for the messages.

One more update. Unfortunately my body isn't replacing the lost blood quick enough so I will be needing a transfusion :(

I'm gutted, I've been a dedicated blood donor for the past 10 years and won't be able to continue now :( But if it makes me better & stops me feeling rubbish for Bethany's 1st few weeks then I'm happy.

  • Congratulations Amy! I had to stop donating blood after needing a transfusion myself after having my eldest. I managed to persuade my hubby to start going instead. His quite happy too as I probably wouldn't be here now without that blood x

Aww Amy I know that feeling, I was gutted when I was told I had to stop giving blood and cried. But on the positive that's 10 years of saving lives more than most :) hope you feel better really soon x

Congratulations Amy! Sorry it didn't all go quite to the ideal plan but glad you're both ok and being looked after :)

Thanks Becca, I managed to go out for lunch and put a simple tea in the slow cooker, before crashing out again on the couch. Seems this is my new 'norm'

Now if I could stop the dog scratching against anything with acoustic properties, maybe I'd get a better/longer night's sleep...?
