Birdie we were the same re disposables: I'm happy to just admire the people who do use washable nappies! As it turns out we will have 2 in nappies at the same time anyway, plus two winter babies so not great dryin conditions, so the savings probably wouldn't have been as huge as they could have been.
TL you have a lovely bump, and a nice phone cover too :rotfl:
Fran-o bet you are looking forward to your day off. Do you have any plans beyond a mammoth lie in?! Hope you enjoy your NCT classes. Will OH be able to come along with you?
Abi thanks for the PP code, didn't buy anything but had a nice nosy and passed it onto a friend too.
Vic how are you doing today? I've said before people just loooooove to comment on bumps - think a lot of the time it's just for something to say! I have been told I am very "neat" this time around - I certainly don't feel it! I don't look pregnant at all from the back, and my boobs are still stubbornly a 34B so maybe I really am all bump... It's a bl00dy big bump though! Thank you for sharing your picture, too, and I agree you look fab.
Thanks for the list, kerri - have you managed to get any RLT? Did you go for capsules or tea bags? I am in denial that I could start that sort of thing really soon, too... we're not even due until next year(albeit only just for you )

Thank you mincepie. You're very lovely too
I'm good today thank you. I've done some baking; made some very chunky looking jam tarts, but they taste nice.
Baby was very quiet yesterday but is a little more lively today. I don't suppose there is much room for him to move around anymore. If DHs prediction is right, and he has been right about one major thing this week already, baby is arriving tomorrow haha!
Thank you for the list kerri...I feel really thick nowDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
Lovely bump photo TL but would you mind editing to make it a little smaller?
Just back from a refresher hypnobirthing session, this one was just women. Practiced some breathing techniques, watched some birthing videos and did a fear/release exercise. I'm amazed at how quickly I can relax compared to when I first went. I think the home practice is really helping. If you want to try it out but can't afford the classes, then get the CD and practice relaxing your entire face. When you can relax your entire face you should be completely relaxed. Each time you do it you should be able to relax quicker and quicker. It's really fab for stressful situations as well.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

It's interesting to hear about the reusable nappies, I would ideally like to use them but I'm in a small flat too so would have to have the tumble drier on full time or perhaps I'll get one of those electric airers...
I was so proud of myself for using a mooncup for 5 years, not contributing to the tampon and sanitary towel mountain! (yucky image!!)
28 weeks tomorrow, 3rd trimester, so happy about that
I've been "looking after" a friend's 15 yr old son, it's an education in teenagers for myself in 15 yrs time, thankfully he's generally mature and well-behaved!
I get comments about how small I am but I think I must be disguising the bump cos I wear mainly loose black shift dresses and black tights! I picked up a moses basket stand at the weekend and the lady gave me the obligatory small comment and told me she got as big as a whale with her pregnancy! Bless..
Antenatal appointment tomorrow, wonder if they'll scan me, I think they'll be checking to see if the fibroid has grown from 10cm. Fibroid is on the left and baby is on the right, poor child, hope he's not too squashed.0 -
Hi,
Just a note on reusables - we are using PopnGro nappies and have found they dry incredibly quickly (the outside + the liner/inserts that go inside them) if anyone is looking for quick drying reusables.
So far so good with them, not longing for disposables - but it is only day 17 so things down that end aren't too bad yet - when they start being a bit more potent/higher volume I might come back and update my thoughts on reusables
Hope everyone is well!0 -
Birdie I hope you are feeling a bit better now!
Just picked up our baby monitor!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
evening ladies
I am full of a cold and sore throat and generally feeling sorry for myself....any recommendations on what to take? At the moment I have just been having paracetamol and resting....
my little bud has been kicking away all day and evening so far...cold isn't affecting him at all! (which is good)

Just lurking from the newborn thread. I've just started my 5 week old on bumgenius 4.0 one size and I'm finding they are regularly leaking out the side. They only have the newborn inserts in at the moment so should I be putting the boosters in? It just seems to be the angle the poo is shooting out at!0

Mrs Bunny have you tried things like hot honey+lemon? Or inhaling steam with menthol crystals in?
Eta: I'm sure I read somewhere that taking vitamin c every 2 hours, along with plenty of coast fluids, was key to getting rid of colds etc. Hope you feel better soon.
Mince pie, I'm in denial about RLT etc too
We've looked into washable vs disposable nappies, but are deferring the decision until Bubs is here and we know better how we would cope with the extra work. I'd love to do it, but I know I'd end up relying on the tumble dryer, and that seems to go quite a way to negating the environmental and cost benefits. I have yet to find out how my health will hold up to the demands of life with a baby too, so for now I'm going to put it in almost the same camp as breastfeeding: if I can do it that's great! If not, I'll try my best not to beat myself up about it
Been feeling lousy the past couple of daysnipped to the shop yesterday and got completely overwhelmed with fatigue and hormones and had to get DH (luckily he was working from home) to come get/meet me
the spent all day on the couch completely wiped out, then in the evening DH ran me a bath and I started blacking out in it, so had to get him to help me out. Ended up in bed from 8pm  Have felt continuously sickly and nauseous and migrainous since  Not impressed! Finally managed to feel well enough tonight to have a shower, so I could wash my hair, so felt a bit better about that, but took all day of resting to make it possible. Hope this isn't how it's gonna be from now on
Still got too many things to do to be sitting around all day!

Kerri - sorry, I told you I was massive! lol couldn't work out how to edit it so I've replaced it with a link, didn't realise it was so huge, it looked fine on my kindle! lol
Mrs Bunny - sorry to hear you're feeling poorly, maybe get the kids albas oil? but plenty of rest and fluids
Becca - which monitor have you gone for? after a quick FB survey we're guna get a video one, can't remember the model number but it's a motorola, the second most popular on amazon. people with them say they're alright to begin with but fantastic for older babies where you want to be able to see if they're going to settle down themselves before you rush in
Fran-O enjoy your day off, I had one yesterday and it was fantastic, lied in bed all morning finishing the new Terry Pratchett book
BigZ - boo to a lack of energy, hopefully it'll just take a couple of days of rest to sort out. although i have read that you sleep lighter in the third trimester so maybe the same time asleep isn't enough for you anymore? this is the first morning i've felt human in quite a while and that's cos i had yesterday off and I went to sleep at half seven last night lol
AFM little miss spent most of my day off yesterday testing her escape route options - kept pushing against my stomach and kicking me in the foof lol
I've had all my hair chopped off into a style i had before i was married and really liked then, but now i think i look like a fat male hipster. in fact i think i look like this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clark_Green but DH says it's nice, I sent my friends a picture and they said it looked nice, so hopefully someone today will compliment it and i'll feel better, somewho the random comments of colleagues count more as they have no reason to lie lol
oh also whilst i was sat waiting for the hairdresser she shouted over 'so how heavily pregnant are you?' not just how pregnant. how heavily pregnant lol
I guess i should've just been more careful what i wish for as i always wanted a proper bump (my sister never had one) and throughout the pregnancy i've wanted it to be obvious I'm pregnant and now it very much is lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
