We've picked our name, it's OH's great grandmothers name but is also translated to be a name on both my Dad and Mums side which is lovely. She'll be having my middle name and as yet still to decide on who's surname.

Still feeling a bit glum, but thank you ladies for making me feel less on my own with these feelings :) OH has been banging on for ages about going to see a counsellor and last night has made him even more determined to make me go, even though I don't want to. Ho hum!

I'm meeting up with a lady tomorrow from another site, I've not met her before. She lives just down the road and is due a few weeks after me. I'm really hoping we hit it off as I'd love to have a friend in this new city.

Right who would like a jaffa cake before I scoff the entire box :)

ps. birdie - I've also been getting nosebleeds, I think partly due to my thryoxine being too high, and partly due to the change in weather & pregnancy. So you're not alone with that glorious symptom.

I have been invited to a party tomorrow and everything that I have to wear is either too casual/work related or makes me look like a heffalump :(

All I want to wear for the next three months is stretchy vest tops and joggy bottoms with a snuggly cardigan and slippers :rotfl:

Hope you are ok with your back ache Vic? Sounds like things could be starting off all very exciting! Xx

I'm suffering a bit from back ache but it doesn't feel like AF. My MW said baby has turned so all her limbs are towards the front, she's head down and her back towards mine which isn't a great as my son went back 2 back during labour. Hopefully the little monkey will move! MW went through my growth chart and predicted a 7-8lb baby, she said she doesn't feel massive and my growth has been spot on average. I did have a couple of whooping measurements done by my consultant but she thinks he added on a few cm as I'm not even measuring that now (or possibly I ate too much that day!) that's my last MW appt as I've now been handed over to consultant led care due to section. I will miss my local unit :(

I ordered some sterile disposable bottles from boots along with final bits for my bag, they came yesterday but the bottles say suitable from 3 months not birth! Had a look at box and they are fast flow so I think I will need alternative bottles. Really annoying! Think I will see of I can return them instore and reorder the ready made bottles!

*sigh* An update from me from hospital.

Went to the day unit yesterday with reduced movements. ++ protein in my urine, raised BP, and I was on the CTG monitor for 95 minutes and it still didn't meet criteria. Was admitted. Very appreciative they are looking after me but they don't seem to know what to do. Waiting on test results atm.

Wishing lots of luck to those who are sooo close to their EDD's. I am very eagerly awaiting Amy, Scar and Vic's birth announcements :) Come on babies, I need some cheer and I want to know the names!!

We've also chosen a name - had it for a while - and we've recently decided on her middle names which has made me happy. I have been busy designing 'birth announcement' cards on snapfish to see how new name looked. Now all I need is a !!!!!!! picture of her!!

Take care everyone, will keep you posted.

Lily How frustrating but better to be in the thick of medical care than to be worrying at home. I hope things work out smoothly soon.

The nursery is almost painted although it feels as if we have been doing it for ages! So I have started to look at decor ideas. I have decided to have a woodland theme and have found some prints that I am going to frame and have a bird feeder on order to put in the window for baby to see. Also chewing over getting silver birch stickers to put on one wall of the nursery. I want it to be quite understated and not too cluttered.

Now I need to find a woodland themed play tent!

  • Aw no Lily I am sorry to hear you have been admitted :( hopefully you will feel better/ baby will move around a bit more so you can go home soon xx

Name wise DH decided on a name when we had our BFP which ironically was a girl's name. When he first said it I was a bit unsure but its 'stuck' somehow and I often find myself calling her it! We haven't told anyone yet as we had so many negative comments about my sons name (it was too unusual for family to grasp although its actually quite popular now) but I love it. There's a middle name I really like but DH isn't keen at all, he keeps saying it doesn't sound like a name but a made up word :rotfl: (it is a name!) I am struggling with names otherwise, I think we will keep with the first name but its hard to find middle names that begin with consonants that we like as names that begin with vowels give her silly initials!

Here's me added to the list... eeeeek!!!
Sorry to hear about people who are having problems at the moment. It will all be worth it in the end.
Baby is moving lots now, which I love, but is clearly going to enjoy giving Daddy the run around... every time he puts his hand on my bump baby stops completely!!!

Does it make a difference with a CS? I always thought it was only something that affected vaginal births?
  • Hi ladies,
Little girl arrived 5.08am, 14th Nov, 7lbs6oz. Not sure on name yet.
Crazy labour, waters broke at 2am, ended up in an ambulance as car broke down 1/2way to hospital. Only at hospital 17mins & she was out!

Lots of stitches/tearing as her arm was next to head. She's doing really well, me not so much. Very shocked & never planned a drugless birth!

Will chat more when I have time x
