For all those who are concerned about the glamours of pregnancy - you're not alone! I have piles, weirdly freckly skin (never had this before!), leaky and weirdly shaped / coloured nipples, a hairy tummy and a complete inability to do my 'personal grooming' effectively any more :o DH has always been very complementary so when he starts a sentence with "you're so..." I expect him to say 'beautiful' or 'pretty' or even 'cute' - more recently though those adjectives have changed to 'big', 'pregnant' and even 'round' :rotfl:

Phew, I thought I was the only hairy bellied freak! ;) My OH doesn't see/notice me much during the week (I tend to see him when I'm wearing flattering work clothes or PJ's and dressing gown!) so every Saturday morning when I'm wearing something that shows off the bump he looks at me with his eyes popping out and says 'Wow... you're reallllly looking pregnant now!' :p

The other day he was laughing at me waddling then muttered at me for not speeding up around someone on the path. I had to explain that he's to think of me as a wagon now; it takes me a long time to get up to my (limited) top speed and it's very difficult to vary my speed or manouver without it causing a problem! :rotfl:

I have to say that feeling baby move was one of the things I was most looking forward to in pregnancy, and I was so excited by the initial flutterings... Now though she feels like she's playing a rugby tournament in there and the novelty has definitely worn off! It's one of those things I wish people had warned me about (not that it would have made any difference I suppose), these movements are a lot more powerful than I expected and some of them bloody hurt :rotfl:

I was really looking forward to feeling kicks too but the novelty wears off after it's been happening for hours on end and I just don't feel like my body's my own anymore. :o Sometimes it makes me feel a little sick when he does a big flip or kick in the wrong place. It does make me laugh when I can see my whole belly moving around though... OH doesn't like it, makes him feel a bit queasy! :p I'm not looking forward to getting further along and the kicks getting stronger and actually hurting!

Saying that, I'm grateful every day that I'm got a healthy and happy little person growing in there! Just wish it was February already! :)

Hope you feel better soon Abi, must be horrid having to deal with late stages of pregnancy whilst battling illness! :o

Does anyone who's having a girl have a hairy belly?

I'm having a boy and have a hairy tummy, although they are so light they're almost invisible.

Becca that's a lovely bump, mine's still flat at the front so i keep saying it's more of a hillock than a bump lol

Birdie my belly has always been hairy in a line from belly button to nether regions and now it's started going from belly button to chest. how is that fair? lol

MSM good luck! and to you Amy, hopefully things are starting!

speaking of the joys of pregnancy and the lovely comments of partners, although this is probably tmi...DH made me roar with laughter the other day in frankie and benny's...my nipples get bumpy when they're erect and he calls them Stevie Wonders (think it's a 40 year old virign reference) aaanyway, we was chatting and somehow the subject of my bodily changes came up and he said 'i'm just glad that you've now got one dominant nipple on each breast, I was a bit worried for a while with them being Stevie Wonders' :rotfl:

I can't decide which movements are more uncomfortable - when I get a kick to the cervix or when she rubs a limb against my ribs. she don't half squiggle sometimes too, like she's tossing and turning in bed lol

and aw, discovered a newfound talent of my DH - dealing well with a crazy hormonal person. last night i was really testy and then for the first time ever i burnt the rice for tea and the chilli was pap. i really wanted to cry but he just tidied it all away, even washed up and put the food in the recycling, and went and got me maccy's. he's so lovely. just wish he'd shut up about cars for more than five minutes :rotfl:

I do, but as I say I had it before pregnancy and now it's just expanded.

I really did think that being pregnant was meant to sort out my PCOS symptoms. why I've no idea, clearly just wishful thinking

thanks for sharing all your news, hope MSM and Amy doing ok today! And hope you feel better soon Abis21. I do appreciate the TMI posts, after all thats the bit of pregnancy we tend not to share with friends! I have always had a bit of extra hair on my belly (I have v fair skin and dark brown hair!) but its really militant since being pregnant (team blue) and I've even noticed a little extra downy blonde hair above my belly button!
I agree about the kicks- I never expected such force, and sometimes they do make me gasp or 'ouch' out loud. Glad he's got some strong legs on him though :)
Been interviewing for my maternity cover with my boss this week... a very strange position to be interviewing for your own role. Seen two people, neither as good in the flesh as on paper, nice to know I'm not so easily replaceable, however would be good to get sorted quickly so I've got a little handover time with them. Whooping cough jab tomorrow and trying to psyche myself up for a days shopping on Saturday. I'm after bump bands, extra trousers (cords/ chinos etc that will do for work and home) and bras... Its all a bit tiring though!
Best wishes to all, Fran (29+2)

Teamlowe - the nurse at the fertility clinic told me being pg would help my pcos. Maybe I'm just hairy & it's not the pcos at all

Men are so funny!! My DH was trying to be nice to me last week when he said one of my non-maternity dresses just made me look a bit tubby not pregnant! Bless him, I did hit him!

Been off work sick for a few days , starting to feel better now.
