Something in my abdomen is being kicked and it is not comfy at all :eek:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Good luck moneysavingmama!!!
I'm wondering if the extra Tabasco on my pasta dinner last night may have done something. May be nothing but tummy feels odd. Braxton hicks feel quite intense & uncomfortable and have been coming fairly constant since I woke up at 6am.
Got my 39week midwife app at 3:40 so will see what she has to say then.
Kynthia - my belly is no more hairy than before (not that it was hairy lol)

Thank you so much for the pictures Angelmommy & Onetreehill  Love seeing the newborn pics - kind of makes it all seem more real and exciting that its going to be our turn soon :j:j
Lily - sorry to hear the c-section date has been put back. Glad your little lady is growing, even if she is still on the smaller size.
BZ - gorge piccie, am glad you both enjoyed the scan
Amy85 - Oooo, exciting - hope things are happening soon for you.
MSM - Also exciting! Hope you are enjoying mommy cuddles right now
AFM - I'm poorly!! Could quite do without that at this stage of pregnancy!! Have had a cold coming on for a week or 2, and now its developing in to a v sore throat etc. I suffer from extreme tonsillitis (but only every year or 2 so they won't do anything about it) and when I get it my throat swells and I puke all the time due to the phlegm and throat swelling (most helpful when yr throat is at its most ouchiest anyway!). I sooooooo hope I aren't getting that!! Have taken paracetamol and will drink and rest lots. No point going to the docs today as they will say its viral - will just have to wait it out a day or 2 and hope to goodness it goes away!! I presume they would still prescribe amoxicillin at this stage of pregnancy if it is tonsillitis??

Wooo MSM - hope it all goes quickly and smoothly for you - please update with pics when you're able to! OTHG's baby girl has me soooo broody and ready to meet mine
This thread is definitely better with pics (of babies, not pregnancy complaints
)
Good luck Amy, it seems as though things may be moving along for you - hopefully the midwife will be able to give you some good news.
For all those who are concerned about the glamours of pregnancy - you're not alone! I have piles, weirdly freckly skin (never had this before!), leaky and weirdly shaped / coloured nipples, a hairy tummy and a complete inability to do my 'personal grooming' effectively any moreDH has always been very complementary so when he starts a sentence with "you're so..." I expect him to say 'beautiful' or 'pretty' or even 'cute' - more recently though those adjectives have changed to 'big', 'pregnant' and even 'round' :rotfl:
Rummer - for random abdomen kicks. I have to say that feeling baby move was one of the things I was most looking forward to in pregnancy, and I was so excited by the initial flutterings... Now though she feels like she's playing a rugby tournament in there and the novelty has definitely worn off! It's one of those things I wish people had warned me about (not that it would have made any difference I suppose), these movements are a lot more powerful than I expected and some of them bloody hurt :rotfl:
Hugs to abis, hope you feel better soon and that the symptoms clear up by themselves. If not, I can't see any reason why the doc wouldn't prescribe antibiotics, they give them to women in labour so presumably they don't have any adverse effects in late pregnancy?0 -
Thanks Amy - I was thinking they would probably prescribe antibiotics - but just got myself a bit worried
Hoping I can fight it off without needing them tho.
Baby movements get much stronger towards the end by the way ladies. When baby hooks its feet underneath your ribs - that hurts (a lot) and I'm not sure if its headbutting or punching me in the cervix - but that makes you stop in your tracks it hurts that much. I had that in the supermarket the other day and think I frightened a lady near me that I was in labour as I just stopped still saying ow ow ow, lol!!
Despite all the niggles tho I still find pregnancy to be truly magical. I wouldn't swap the kicking etc for the world - its such a special feeling.
I have developed a large case of spots as well in the last couple of days - like mahooooosive spots. I presume its just hormones flaring up towards the end of pregnancy but boy do I look a bobby dazzler :rotfl: Especially combined with a swollen eye which I have been getting on and off during pregnancy (I have some cream prescribed but it takes a couple of days to calm down). I will look a right yummy mummy if I give birth now with my spots, swollen eye and snotty nose!

MoneySavingMamma wrote: »The longer I go, the less confident I am of labour! It sounds silly, but if she'd come last week, I would have had no fear, I was so confident I could do it, and I wouldn't need an episiotomy etc as she'd be just 7lb ish.
Now I feel were heading for 8lbs, the panic is creeping in! Then in a week 9lbs!!
If I do go over, I will just be a mess & lose all confidence :-(
I wish I knew what causes their size, someone said it was because I drank diet coke in first pg, so I cut right back with no2. Still a heffer!
I'll just keep praying for 7lbs, and convince myself girls are little, then I'll push my best & see what happens!!
I think it's just genetics!
DS1 was 7lb 9, ate well with him was never sick. DS2 I hardly ate for the first 14 weeks, and if I did eat I threw up - he was 9lb! DD was 6lb 8 so no pattern in weights for me whatsoever.
Does baby feel big to you? I remember with DS2 I could always feel this massive knee and bum, and remember thinking he was going to be quite big. With DD all I could feel was a tiny little knee and bum, and even though people were telling me I looked big I kind of knew she wasn't.0 -
Morning all, hugs to those that need them and labour vibes to MSM and Amy
I'm absolutely shattered today, got back from a meeting in London yesterday at midnight. OH was really annoyed because I got the time completely wrong for when I'd get into the station. I was so tired I read 23:41 as 23:14. Oh well, it's the first time I've made him wait and he's definitely made me wait longer for him when I've picked him up.
It must have been a day for it yesterday as bump was kicking and wriggling around like never before. I thought she was trying to escape through the walls of my stomach! Having a duvet day today, although I've got the painting itch so I might tape up the dining room ready for painting. I shall see how energetic I'm feeling.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
