When I was on the ward yesterday (albeit for only 1hr!)
there was a lady having a good scream, but I later heard she was only 1cm dilated, god knows what she'll be like at the end! :rotfl:

One moaner out of three; I didn't hear the other two ladies at all, just the cries/screams of their babies. Couldn't help smiling!

Hope everything went ok for you xx

How annoying do your GP and MW sound Kynthia?! 'What do you want from this apppintment?'... 'I want you to bloody well fix me!' :p

Sorry that things aren't progressing brilliantly Lily, but at least there are positives, little girl is growing and everything is still healthy. :) Shame that the section has been put back a day though, can imagine that must be really upsetting and frustrating since you've 'known' she would be here on the 9th for months. :o

Baby was really active all day yesterday, seemed to be on the move constantly; woke me up doing somersaults this morning so it looks like it'll be more of the same today! :)

    )

These were both GPs and felt like students. I couldn't even count the number of doctors at my surgery. As it's shared care, Ive only seen a midwife twice so far, booking in and 16 weeks. I don't feel I have any connection to them, but I should see them more after 30 weeks.

Hello everyone!! Gingerly posting here as I haven't been on this thread yet, I'm on the less than 12 weeks thread and I will be 12 weeks tomorrow.

I had a question and thought this might be the best place to get some info! My OH and I have been trying to find a cheap baby first aid course to attend early next year so we are clued up when baby arrives. They are just all SO expensive!!

So far the only fairly reasonable one we've been able to find is via NCT next year but even that is £50 per couple and it's quite a distance away. When my best friend was pregnant a few months ago she swears she found a Red Cross run course for £5 per person but she can't find any details to give me.

Has anyone done a course/booked onto one and been able to find a fairly cheap/reasonably priced one?

I know you can't put a price on your child's safety but blooming heck I'll be broke before the baby even comes at this rate!! Eep!

    Thanks in advance x

Have a look at Millies Trust website which is a charity parents set up after they lost their daughter. Their aim is to provide free or subsidised paediatric first aid training.

Sorry for butting in. I still read even though my squish is 7 months old now!

Angel : Joshua is gorgeous! Hope you're doing ok? Xxx

Thanks kscarlet and all the other lovely ladies for their Joshua comments. I'm doing amazingly well considering I had a difficult back to back birth, thank you. Discharged today from midwifery care, Joshua 10 days old and is very happy & healthy. I've only got 2kg to lose to be pre-pregnancy weight although I believe the b00bs weigh more than that lol. Bf going very well - did try expressing to give b00bs a break and to allow hubby and daughters to feed him but Joshua got sick afterwards so have stuck to just bf. been out and about everyday to at least have a walk and fresh air - love pushing Joshua in his carrycot.

How much longer do you have left? Must only be a couple weeks now? Exciting! Do you have your bags ready? Lol. Hope you're feeling ok and not in the 'urgh is it over yet' heavily pregnant phase! Xx

Blimey, for a second I thought you meant you'd be back with pics of your boobs OTHG! :rotfl:

    :rotfl:

No no, that's no good for anyone! Instead, I have hopefully added a pic of our little one from our stay in hospital. This photo doesn't quite capture just how much hair she has on her head! :p

Never put tables and chairs in the same room.
If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

    OneTree She is gorgeous!

Lily Please post if you feel it will help, everyone needs a place to talk through their pregnancy.

Durham-girl How did you get on with your scan?

Today was a busy day and I had my first growth scan which mercifully went really well and baby is measuring comfortably within dates which is such a relief.

I was given some more info about my induction today and it all sounds very intense. Throughout I will be very closely monitored and bed bound with my baby likely to go to special baby care straight away. Not ideal but a means to an end and I am glad they have spelt out what could happen so that I am not having to process things at the time.

On a cheerier note hubby is currently painting the nursery :j in only a few days I will be positioning bunting and folding freshly washed tiny clothes :D
