  • Smlsave - If junior is born on time he will be almost 4 months when we go to Holland. It is only 55 mins on the plane from Glasgow to Amsterdam and then about an hour in the car once we get there. Of course it is all dependant on timing of the birth/work and how we manage in those first few months.

Vic - What advice did they give about the watery discharge? Sometimes I look like I've pee'd myself but it isn't pee at all:eek:

Well looks like I spoke too soon about the results of the GTT. Got home this evening and there was a message from the diabetic nurse at the hospital wanting to see me on Thursday morning for blood monitoring. Booo:( Doesn't come as a huge shock but I was hoping that as this baby doesn't like the sweet stuff I might have escaped GD.

Kerri the image of DH's face if I just reached down there and went 'oh only 3cm' has really tickled me so I might pretend to check myself just for that lol

Vic3 glad everything is ok, that must have been scary

BigZ lovely picture of littleZ :)

    Angelmommy Joshua is adorable :)

GTT was fine although took longer as I had to wait half an hour for the first so grr but I didn't faint and me and DH had three courses at Frankie and Benny's afterwards so that was nice :) also told the name to the midwife (we're keeping it secret but I couldn't resist) and she said it was lovely :) not that she would have said if she didn't like it but still lol was told I'd hear quickly if I did have it but would maybe get a letter if I didn't

I'm sure all our babies will come when they're ready, however frustrating and uncomfortable the last few weeks are for us and whether we drink vats of raspberry leaf tea or not! :)

I've had awful constipation for about a month, never known anything like it! I've used glycerin supps and tried milk of magnesium last night which helped but I do worry about the effect on the baby in all this! Went for a long walk yesterday and today in the park to see if exercise will get things moving. My pregnancy in general has been great, it's just this problem that's putting a downer on things but can't have everything go my way I suppose!

Got a moses basket on ebay for £10 and collected it yesterday, the flats I got it from looked a bit scary so I texted the address to OH with instructions to call police if I hadn't communicated with him in 20 mins! It was fine though, I picked it up then had to get 3 busy buses home, was cursing myself, felt like dumping the basket somewhere but got home 3 hours after I left work, was starving, ate a big dinner late then had heartburn all night, oh joy! Will not make that mistake again, must stop thinking I'm super woman and get OH to do stuff like this!

Jox - make yourself a homemade smoothie with a ripe, not green, banana. My OH makes me one EVERY morning, and it certainly works for having a good clear out an hour later. I've had to tell him to stop making me them as sometimes I just want to have a sleep in the morning. Sorry I really am TMI today...I shall shush about gross-things from now on promise!

:rotfl:That sentence really made me laugh! I can't stand curry either so I'd have to REALLY not want sex to consider it possibly being worse. :rotfl:

MrsBunny, I've not had the second trimester 'bloom' I was hoping for either. In the last five weeks I've visited the GP's weekly, the hospital and going to physio tomorrow. I have been very very sick with a virus and had to get my first ever sick note for work, struggle with pain when in the car, upright chairs and walking much due to PGP, been diagnosed with anaemia which explains the exhaustion, had antibiotics for a gum infection and currently have a cough.

SmlSave I remember driving my 7/8 month old niece to a caravan holiday a few years ago and I was surprised how time consuming it was. We stopped after 2 hours as she needed food and we found a services that had a microwave for heating baby food. We all ate and it was nearly an hour later when we went to sent off, then my sister turned to me and said "by the way she needs a warm bottle in just over an hour". I couldn't believe it and didn't want to stop again so soon as we'd never get there, but thankfully we could warm the bottle there and it would be fine for a feed without stopping. So I would worry that you would find a 9 hour journey becomes even longer with a baby.

So ladies, where is the best place to get maternity work wear? I don't wear leggings due to big thighs and fat ankles, so I prefer wide legged transfers and longish smart tops.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

1 banana, some apple or orange juice, whatever fruit is in the freezer. atm we have blackcurrants, blackberries, raspberries and cranberries. He mixes it up as to what to add and usually a handful of each goes in then just blends. The bananas are normally at the yellow with spots stage which I hate to eat as a fruit, but goes well in smoothie. Neck if first thing in the morning and the banana works it's wonders within the hour. You could try just eating a ripe banana instead if you didn't want to faff.

The science bit: under-ripe bananas will cause constipation, however ripe/over-ripe bananas will relieve it. Bananas that are not ripe are high in starch so cause bloating etc. However, bananas do contain about 3g of fibre which is high for one little banana. Just remember to drink plenty of water with them and make sure they don't have any green on them.
