This seems a bit ridiculous to be asking, especially as I am on my third baby, but what does the mucus plug look like?
Would yellowy and snot-like in consistency cover it? I just 'found' a few globs (about the size of a 10p piece in total) of stuff that fits that description.
Any ideas?
I had the same yesterday LilyWas going to ask too :rotfl:

hello all,
congrats to the new mums! ill have a read back over whats been going on shortly, since my hubby has the baby and ive finally got my laptop ill post a little about my experience.
Friday 1st: went into hospital for induction due to suspected gestational diabetes.
3pm had propess put in, all going well, went out for a coffee with hubby about 6pm and had a bit of time on the monitor for baby. came back to be put on the monitor again, baby moving so much that I had to hold the sensor in my hand and keep it on the baby, baby was moving so much his heart rate kept going up and they couldnt get a baseline. after 2 hours on the monitor still couldnt get a reading so they called in the doctor to have a look as my hand was killing me.
hubby had been sent home at 8 and was told nothings going to happen tonight, go home and get some sleep and we'll see you in the morning.
so we get to 11pm and the doctor comes in, she looks a bit concerned and asks if anyone has examined me, which they hadnt, so she decided to check then and discovered i was 3cm already (at this stage i was aware of a few regular tightenings but not enough to be sore).
so hubby gets the call just after 11pm to come back to the hospital, im on my way to labour ward.
Saturday 2nd: get to delivery room, still doing ok contraction wise but they still cant get a good monitor on the baby so they break my waters and put a clip on babys head.
contractions start building a bit and getting a bit uncomfortable, decide to go for a bit of gas and air, but mostly just use it to bite on through the contractions, start using it properly eventually. at this stage im feeling a bit sore, so get a shot of diamorphine to help me along.
managed to sleep in between contractions and was feeling a bit more sore and starting to think about maybe having an epidural, well the midwife examined me at this point for me to hear 'you're fully dilated, only a tiny bit of cervix to go', so i never got that epidural! (i was actually quite happy about this strangely!)
so i managed to push him out on just the gas and air and diamorphine, which all would have been fine until he came out with his hand up by his face and his cord wrapped round his neck. it was excruciating when his head came out and the midwives were telling me to stop pushing, i remember shouting how i could feel myself tearing (little did i know), out he popped at 4:53am.
I had what they suspected to be a 3rd degree tear, so was sent to theatre to be looked at properly and have a spinal block, i didnt have a 3rd degree tear, but described as extensive 2nd degree tearing both inside and out...ouch!
healing well so far, i definitely recommend arnica, its helped me a lot more than i would have thought and im healing really well only a week on!
we had a few days stay in hospital with Hunter having jaundice and a suspected infection (he didnt have fortunately) but we're home with hubby and very happy, hes an angel and is already sleeping through the night, just waking to be fed and then back off to sleep again.
if you made it to the end of that marathon well done! here are a couple of pictures of baby Hunter and daddy

Was going to ask too :rotfl:
I googled it and what I found was the same as the pics on google.
General consensus seems to be that if its your first baby it doesn't mean anything, but if its a subsequent pregnancy it can indicate labour is imminent. Not sure that's so true in my case but i panicked for a minute! Absolutely loads of BH tonight buy I'm sure its just coincidence.
I feel totally clueless ;(14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Trina - Hunter is beautiful and I love his name too. I just showed the pic to my OH and he went 'awwwh!' So he must be lovely!
Glad to hear everything went well in the end and that you are healing well14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Lily - tell me about it I was horrified when I found out they'd been in for so long! One of them left in tears it was quite bad. The other one didn't have such a bad time mentally but her baby wasn't latching on. She ended up pumping for 6 weeks so I'm not sure how she left the hospital in the end I guess she agreed to express.0

re breastfeeding I agree that with big boobs it can feel like your suffocating but your not, I'm a g and have breastfed 3 kids successfully.
I know it can be uncomfy if your engorged but my dd is 11 weeks now and i no longer get engorged, the supply does settle.
I'm not saying breastfeeding is easy, it's not for everyone I've spoken before about crying through every feed for over five weeks with my first, I just didn't want people to think its easier with small breasts and harder with big breasts, there's other factors too.OPs so far £42,139
