    I've been Money Tipped!
BZ I've brought my gro egg at £9.99 (seems to be that price every weekend, at least the last 3) which is great. I sold a second hand one on eBay 6 weeks ago for £9 plus p&p so they hold their value :)
First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 :D
  • Morning!
Well I'm still here! 3 weeks after my 'your going to pop any day now' midwife app!!
Wish I'd joined the list now, EDD 18th Nov, but I always thought I'd queue jump so much there wouldn't be any point!

All signs seems to have stopped last few days, not even had the 3-4 no.2s a day!!

Last night I'm sure I was having contractions at 6am, and that I woke up, but went back to sleep thinking they'll wake me up when they are strong enough, but I woke up at 8 & nothing so now I just think it was a vivid dream! How sad is that?! Not dreaming about the exciting/scary parts, just dreaming about the little contractions!

In regards to 'The Plug' i've never lost mine prior, no 1 I lost in hospoital, somehow 4+ hours after waters broke, and no clue about no2, def not at home either, and I wasn't in hospital until 3+hrs after waters broke.
Both times proper gush, not long trickle.

Getting upset by my midwife care, no interest has been shown to my likelyhood of another giant baby. I had consultant care with no2 as no1 emergency c-sec, that included growth scan & c-sec booked so i couldn't go overdue.
This time no-one cares, I showed up big on tape measurements, but they weren't concerned, and still wouldn't give me a scan.
Midwife says we'll discuss at 40wks, but thats a bit late if I go into natural labour at 40+1 & it's another giant!! :-(

Also I swear I haven't been asked if I'm going to breastfeed, or told what my hospital provides etc things might have changed since 2yrs ago!

There has been no consistency & I think I should have been offered a sweep at 38wks just to help things along if I had so many signs! Or at least an examination to see if anything was happening down there!

    Grumpy cow at 38+6. :-(

  • Hi all,

Congratulations to all the new mums this week. The cute photos are making me even more impatient to see what my little man will look like.

I am 30 weeks now... and have 6 more weeks to work.
I am starting to wonder how on earth I will manage it, I am already really tired and the mere thought of all the things I have to get done in the 6 weeks is making me stressed. :(:(
OH is really good and has taken over the vast majority of cooking and housework (without me even asking)so at least I'm not worrying about that, but he (sadly) can't do my job for me.
I'm tired today because I had my flu jab yesterday and the nurse insisted on doing right arm, because I'd had the whooping cough in left. I can only sleep properly on my right side now, so that meant I was uncomfortable all night due to sleeping on the bruise.

I'm wondering if I should start maternity earlier than I had planned, but if I do that I'll have to go back earlier as well. I am a teacher and this would mean going back for 1-2 weeks before the xmas hols next year, which seems ridiculous really - I'd rather have a clean start on the first day of the new term.

I am actually working this morning (on a 5 minute tea break now) but sitting at desk is really uncomfortable as baby is sticking something under my ribs. I suspect that it's an elbow judging by his position. I'll be glad when he turns head down and can't do that any more!

Oh dear, I sound like a real whinger. Sorry ladies - cumulative sleep deprivation and hormones to blame I think.

On the plus side, we picked up our Uppababy Vista and carseat yesterday. Had a heart attack moment when pic on box showed a really bright green but inside it was the right colour (Ella Jade) and I love it :D
Made it scarily real having a pram in the lounge though. In 67 days there will be a baby in it!

Hope all you ladies are having a nice relaxed weekend.

  • Ah pants, the perfect prep has gone bk up to £61!

I have thought all along what an absolute waste of money, then it occured to me I can have it in the bedroom! I don't have to go to our freeeezing kitchen & get the milk, and for me that was sold at £48!

Fingers crossed it goes down again, as much as I will BF I have no confidence in getting past a few weeks. My biggest issue both times is my already gigantic b00bs (36f/g), which then get even bigger, are just so uncomfy! & i find the boob goes over babies face if i don't pay attention & i swear i'll suffocate!!

If i had a nice little pair I'm sure i'd get on alot better!

I've just noticed the posts about the Gro-egg just want to say be careful with them as I've read a lot of people have had funny temperature readings where the room is cooler/warmer than the display says.

Msm I'm the same re: breastfeeding, the only ladies I know how have breastfed successfully had smaller breasts- I'm up to 40H and I just don't think the logistics of it are going to work. I've decided I'm guna put some money aside, give breastfeeding the old college try but if it doesn't work out get the perfect prep and bottles etc

Well the remembrance service went off without a hitch although there was some running around chasing lost wreaths lol but it's a load off my mind and can relax into my last six full weeks of work

Got a letter with an appointment for the health visitor to come round. Ranted to DH that it was so presumptuous of them to book it for during the day and don't they want parents working etc etc for DH to pipe up with 'but aren't we off that day anyway'. Wind taken completely out of my sails lol

BigZ hope the scan is lovely :) it's really sweet that your DH wanted one, mine isn't bothered about seeing baby again til she's born. He was there for 12 week and first anomaly scan but not the second as he was satisfied that he'd already seen her. Disappointed me a bit but meant my sister could come with me and she really enjoyed it :)

Have you looked on toys r us with the 20% off this weekend - haven't checked if they are still in stock.

I have struggled to bf & one of my challenges is breast size - don't want to put anyone off! Each of my boobs is bigger than her head & needs a couple of hands to get in position. I've mixed expressing & formula. Might have another go on the breast tomorrow. I've had some support re positioning but still struggled.

Just got the tape measure out, my belly has grown 10 inches. I've just looked at the measure to see how big baby's measuring now. My growth scan says a head circumference of 300mm and abdominal circumference of 27mm. If I draw that out she's about the size of a small toy doll :) I even tried putting the measure up against my belly to get an idea of how big she is inside :)

This seems a bit ridiculous to be asking, especially as I am on my third baby, but what does the mucus plug look like?

Would yellowy and snot-like in consistency cover it? I just 'found' a few globs (about the size of a 10p piece in total) of stuff that fits that description.

    Any ideas?
