Congratulations baba moose!
Loving all the pictures of the new arrivals too, ladies :T
Finding finding the variation in birth stories interesting and intriguing too
Thanks for the replies regarding mattresses too. I think I need to revisit the topic when less hormonally /emotionally /tiredly wrung
ETA: Amy loo, have a hug.:o I have a pretty good idea how you feel physically (with the joints etc) and it's not easy. I have struggled with my body /bump image the past 7 months too. After losing the weight I did (and still not being "normal" range) pre-pregnancy, I've struggled with the idea of putting weight back on, but it being "acceptable", and have often thought I just looked fat, not pregnant. At least once a day on average, I suspect
it doesn't help that I have a little pouch of excess skin /flab at the bottom of bump, which ruins the aesthetics of bump for me somewhat
(I also now wonder if that's what accounts for the extra 1cm on the final height measurement
) there's nothing I can do about it, but it bothers me regardless, and that's with or without dh making moves on me... I hope you feel better about yourself/body soon and DH goes you some extra reassurance one way or another soon too

Congratulations BabaMoose! Jack Matthew is absolutely gorgeous and so pleased that he had a relatively undramatic welcome to the world after all your waiting.
I am back to my normal self this morning, thanks to everyone offering hugs and sympathyThink I was just having a ridiculously hormonal day, and I seem to be incapable of getting through a birthday without crying at some point anyway :rotfl:
Anyway, DH was very sweet and attentive yesterday when he got home from work (although still very weirded out by my bump) and despite them driving me to distraction and hanging around ALL DAY, my lovely family cheered me up no end.
Star, really hope your SPD eases up soon and that you start to feel less sore - has your midwife referred you for physio / recommended a belt or crutches? I know what you mean about being broody, I'm so excited to meet our little girl, I had no idea you could actually be this broody whilst already pregnant!
Big hugs to anyone who needs or wants them today :grouphug: I can't believe how short the list has become (and how how much closer I am to the top )0 -
Great news Baba! :j What a good looking bunch of babies we're producing!
Glad you're feeling chirpier Amy, these hormones don't half drive us round the bend, do they?!
Had my weekly weigh-in and it's getting depressing!16lbs gain, I know it's right on target, but I don't like being heavier than my OH! On the plus side, I realised last night that I can pig out on pasta now because I no longer get the tell-tale carb bloat, my bump gets bigger but I pretend it's baby and not food! :rotfl:
Organised my maternity leave and holidays before that and I've now only got 11 weeks left at work! :j I'm so excited about finishing but so scared about the reason why I'm taking time off work!

Feeling fed up - next doors builders are still here. Banging away at 8am every morning. Into the 4th week now
they have been stripping it all back to bare brick, knocking a wall or two down, wiring, plumbing & now plastering. Oh and they have also been holding there own singing competition too - FYI if they were in the xfactor they wouldn't have even got to sing to the judges. Radio 2 has been my saviour but my radio will only turn up so far
I sooooo hope they finish soon, I can just imagin the stress of trying to get little one off for a nap when they start banging away again.
Congrats babamoose!! Although I think that makes me no.3 on the list :0

If something goes in the sale within 4 weeks of me buying it I buy it again at sale price and take it back with my old receipt0 -
oh ladies i'm having a horrible Tuesday. i hate Tuesdays.
Started off by waking up at 4 for the loo, and hear a cat meow and thought it was mine. got worried he'd got trapped in a room (DH has just put some draft excluder stuff on the doors so he can't open them anymore) so was wandering round the house in the dark with my phone looking for the cat, who was happily curled up on the armchair and gave me a fustrated 'brrpp' when i disturbed him.
Journey to work was a nightmare as lots of traffic also dh had put an air freshener in the car which stunk and irritated my nose.
Plus i've had bad indigestion all morning so was really uncomfy
get to work and have a major disaster on a project that i would never choose to do in a million years if you asked me as it's too high pressure. problem is fixed now though but not helped by my bosses oh so helpful 'we should've picked up on that' ARGH
AND we had a fire drill and i didn't bring my coat and greater manchester is not the warmest place in the world at the minute let me tell you.

Ohhh, things can only get better TeamLowe, sounds like a bad start to the day!
I saw the midwife this morning, got the matb1 form, blood pressure, urine, heartbeat, measurement all good so that's a relief. Walked to train station in pouring rain and the next couple of trains were cancelled, had to get bus to nearest tube station, got to work at 12pm, lucky my boss is very understanding!
Congratulations babamoose, welcome to your baby boy0 -
Just jumping on here to ask a quick question. Anyone know where to find/order plus size maternity knickers? I *think* I'm a size 22 or 24, but would like to get measured, since my upper body is 3-4 sizes smaller than my lower body. I'm looking for cotton and comfortable, not too fussed about how they look. I currently live in my pj's so I'm ok on those for now, but my underwear has already started to get too tight!
Thanks in advance!0
