Oh wow - gorgeous pic continual!! Shame your recovery time has been slow - but Scarlett looks so very worth it

Oh, she's gorgeous Continual!
Really cute tiles Abis, I'm so jealous of people who can draw! I can barely even stay in the lines when I'm colouring in!
I'm the first of my friendship group to have a baby so I think that people just don't realise what it takes out of you. Think they just assume I'd carry on as normal, just without the booze but it's just not the case! It's the first time I've let them down though so was expecting a little more sympathy TBH!I'm sure once they start having babies they'll be moaning about tiredness and aches and pains and I'll be the wise old owl saying 'Yep! Now you understand where I was coming from!'
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Congratulations to all the recent births, we're whizzing through the list now! lol
angelmommy your little boy is gorgeous and sounds like he's a dream, unless he's lulling you into a false sense of security lol
Continualdiamond what a gorgeous smile! definitely seems like that would make it all worth it
I'm not keen on bump pictures as I hate having my picture taken and I'm not keen on newborn pictures, or at least the trend for them where they're placed in something or have their hands under their heads. they just don't look natural or comfy and surely the point is to capture the scrunched up vunerable cuteness of the newborn baby?
was saying to DH before how uncomfy i'm getting sometimes as it feels like everything's squashed and i found this:
http://www.msichicago.org/whats-here/exhibits/you/the-exhibit/your-beginning/make-room-for-baby/interactive/
yeah...that'll explain it lol
I've also been feeling really down about my weight gain and really paranoid cos i've put on a lot but then i was reading an article about how many calories to have in the third trimester (my app says 450, everywhere else says 200) and the nhs says
There are no formal evidence-based guidelines from the UK Government or professional bodies on what constitutes appropriate weight gain during pregnancy.
so i shall try to relax and stop panicking, will eat healthily and move as much as my hips allow and wait til after birth to see what the damage is.Little Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

That's fab news! I'm ok thanks. Hubby has been off work this week but returns tomorrow. It's gonna be very quiet here. I'm not sleeping particularly well so will try to rest and catch up on sleep. I'm currently half way through packing my bag and washing baby clothes. Nursery is pretty much done now!
At last my pram has arrived. Due to stupid small car boot, we were really limited in what would fit. In the end, we went for this one. We had a really good deal on the package as the colour is being discontinued. We also bought the carrycot and car seat base.

Sorry to hear you aren't sleepinghope you manage to get some rest x wow well done on finishing the nursery! Ours still needs work! Baby washing is never ending, I washed 4 loads last week, 4 more today and there's still lots left inc bedding, Moses basket etc! The pram looks lovely
bet it's a relief to know you are sorted now! X
BigZippy re: mattresses we went for mid range. We originally got a cheap foam one but returned it as it didn't seem very comfortable. I think the one we got was 60-70 it was a sprung mattress with removable cover. One side was breathable and the other waterproof so it was useful as we could flip mattress if my son had a sickness bug, the washable cover was a godsend too! My son used it for 3 years and the baby will use it once she outgrown her basket. It's still very comfortable and looks like new, I think I could even sleep on it if it was a bit bigger lol! X
Lovely to read your birth story Angelmy son was back to back too it was so painful! He sounds like a very chilled little man x
Happy birthday Amy! X
Happy birthday for yesterday Abis! X bump shoot sounds lovely! You're pottery looks really nice, lovely colours! X
Continual your little girl is gorgeous! I'm so worried about recovering from a section, I hoover daily but apparently you can't even do that initially! I'm glad you feel better after a month though x
Lol Birdie I am the first too in my group of friends to have a child. They just do not understand and especially now that I'm heavily pregnant with a toddler! Apparently I'm always tired, I feel like telling them to strap a sack of spuds to their front and chase around my son all day lol! XTrying to save for a deposit

If anyone is thinking of the perfect prep, it's still £61 on amazon.
Mix of expressing & FF for us at the mo. Loving the perfect prep so just ordered a second one for grandparents.0 -
Oh ladies, please will someone give me a (gentle) slap? Am so ridiculously hormonal atm and everything seems to be setting me off. DH and I are supposed to be spending some quality time together tonight, so I bought a pretty maternity nightie which was stupidly expensive in the vain hope it might persuade him to not be so terrified of my pregnant body... I put it down next to the bag Mum was going to take to cash for clothes, and I think you can all guess the rest. It's completely my fault and it's nothing serious in the grand scheme of things, but I've been sobbing uncontrollably for half an hour and my relatives are on their way so I really need to sort myself out.
I just feel massive and broken at the moment - I had a lot of issues with eating disorders in my teens and have always been pretty tiny so I'm suddenly feeling humungous, and the GP calling about cholesterol levels hasn't helped. DH and I haven't been intimate (except for me being nice to him) in at least 6 months and I just ache everywhere, my body's about 50% tubigrip from physio visits at this stage and one part of me or another will click or wobble or threaten to lock at every movement.
Need to stop this pity party now, my little nephew's on his way and he needs a LOT of energy :rotfl:
Continual, that pic definitely did put a smile on my faceI'm sorry you're finding recovery tough and hope you feel better soon.

Kscarlet - you'll know what you can/cannot do trust me.
Week 2 I put the washing out that hubby had done because I felt better and that I could manage. Tummy felt a bit tender but I wasn't in pain, however the next day is when it set me back. I think for me also week 2 I felt like I would be able to do stuff as I'd finished the course of pain killers I came home with + finished with the injections (I never knew you had to self inject with blood thinners)
It's hard to comprehend that inside a lot of healing is going on because on the outside it doesn't look major.
Even though its taken a mth to feel myself it has gone quick and my incision is now all flat with a very thin red line. I'm now going to start using bio oil on it to help it not be as noticeable.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
oh amy have a rather large hug, don't know what else to say really other than it'll all be worth it in the end, that's what i keep telling myself anyway
and ditto on the not liking the bodily changes - i come from the other end of the scale (no pun intended) but having been told all my life i'm too big and need to lose weight it's really hard to look at my body now and not feel like i'm failing in some way not to keep to my already fairly large size, can't help but think i just look humungsly fat not matter how bump shaped the bump is.
it's so hard to disassociate everything you've felt about your body for years and instead accept the changes x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

OMG no 6!!
ellie3009 I got Omeprazone from the docs and its amazing if the rantidine doesn't work.
I've got the Uppababy Vista as well, we love it as it's so easy to steer, big basket. A little bit heavy getting in and out of the car according to MIL but she's rubbish, she can't even put the travel cot up without help!! Also she can't fold it down as you have to have a certain knack.
I wasn't planning on having a second until DD1 was properly walking, but life didn't stick to the plan so I'm buying the rumble seat to make it into a temporary double so I'll let you know if its any good
I have a feeling that the Vista rumble seat doesnt fit with the carrycot, when we played with it in Kiddicare it looked like the rumbleseat was only of use when using the pushchair attachment, with the carrycot and the rumbleseat it looked like the carrycot bottom would be right in the face of the child in the rumbleseat. It is worth checking for yourself before buying....0 -
All the piles talk has me very worried! The things they don't tell you! I'm already somewhat uncomfortable in that respect so really don't want to have to sit on a rubber ring after the birth because they're so bad!0
