Thanks kscarlet and starshinning. I've had a couple of really good cries today. Hate being upset, I'm normally a happy person. Lots of people joking that baby will come Halloween, isn't helping. It's not their fault, they don't know. Thanks again, I appreciate it. Can't talk to anyone here as don't want to upset the girls by mommy being upset IYSWIM. XxDD1 June 1997

Evening all.
Re the BF/FF I'm FF now after a failed attempt at BF. I had an emergency c section and be to honest whilst I did want to give BF a go it was actually the last thing I wanted to do at like 3 am in the morning after my c section.
However she was put straight on me to feed and I actually didn't know what to do. I was sooo not with it and was thinking 'what the hell are you doing' when the midwife put her to my B.
I managed to BF though in hospital, however only on the right. She refused to go on the left, which was fine, but only for 3 days, come the 3rd day when I was allowed home the right B had had enough and became extremely sore, cracked and started to bleed. I did keep trying on the left but she wasn't happy on that side for whatever reason and whilst I did continue to try on the right out of guilt because she was hungry I began to wince, grit my teeth and just wish the time away so it wouldn't hurt anymore.
Come 4 am my husband was at asda buying formula, lol.
Congratulations to all the new mummy's. Time flies, so enjoy every moment. My little girl is 3 weeks old today and we had her 1st smiles last Friday, she now knows my voice and I got the biggest grin from her, it was lovely.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Aww continual that's so cute, I'm very jealous!
I've decided that my bump is waiting until I do more work in his nursery before he comes out... either being nice and giving me more time, or just disappointed that it isn't done already so is having a strop (strop sounds more like my boy).
So here are some little updates: http://imgur.com/TZuL0kV,f8zLUCJ,M45ipaM,lvPUH2B#0
Going to finish the lamp off now I think.
(I still haven't made any progress with the wall... to frightened to paint it)0 -
Since I have taken ill nothing has been done in the nursery. All I can manage is to travel from bed to couch and back again. Really frustrating being in the house all the time and it is making me really think about the first few weeks when the wee one is here.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Are you feeling any better Rummer?0

Are you feeling any better Rummer?
Sadly no, I am exhausted all the time yet struggling to sleep. Some family members have had the same thing and the doc did say he has had a few people through with the same. Just been advised to rest as much as possible and to keep my fluids up. Hopefully I will perk up in a couple of days.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Rummer I hope you get well soon. Huge hugs to you.
Vic3 glad to hear you had a fab time! Did you have lots of cake? With DD we had a kind-of baby shower (we wanted to catch up with our friends before life changed forever) and it took us days to eat all the cupcakes people bought! I'd secretly love another but only so I can have those cute pastel macaroons which weren't around a couple of years ago :rotfl:
brunettegirl roll on your induction date, in the grand scheme of things a few days is nothing but I know it doesn't feel that way when you're enormous and uncomfy
BigZippy that is so cute about the nursery ideas. My DH only gets the power of vetoover decorating, holidays etc as I like planning too much. Our baby is having M&P Elfie and Mop just like her big sister. Looking forward to the fresh copy of the border being up and washing the curtains to freshen the look of the room. Need to wait for a blowy but dry day to do that though!
Angelmommy, I don't know what to saybut hope you are ok this evening.
Congratulations to the new arrivals! I love reading all about them and hearing the names etc. We have our 3D scan next Saturday - I know some people don't like them but I am ridiculously excited. Our one for DD was fabulous and she still looks like the picture we got. I'll be nearly 30 weeks so hopefully will get a good picture!0 -
re breastfeeding formula feeding.
I've breastfed my first two exclusively, neither have ever had formula. The first one I wasn't going to breastfeed, no one in my family has breastfed I didn't know it existed, as I avoided antenatal classes due to a birth phobia. When I had DD1 they told me it was best for baby, and that was that.
I was in agony for 5 1/2 weeks after a midwife badly attached her, doing a rugby ball position, I was bleeding. I couldn't bare to feed off that side, but winced through feeding on one side, whilst expressing off the bleeding breast, every single feed. How I got through it I'll never know, but no one ever said put her on formula, it's ok, it was always breast is best and I was determined to do things 'by the book.'
Anyway when she was 5 1/2 weeks I healed up got her back on both sides and never had any problems. In hindsight it was hellish, I used to dread every feed in agony. Bleeding nipples. Yet after 5 1/2 weeks it was fine and I enjoyed it.
With DD2 had no problems even in the early days and breast fed her for a year.
With current 9 week old DD3 I'm breast feeding again, but due to circumstances outside my control, my mum has her two days a week so I can finish teacher training, so she has about 3 formula bottles a week. I can't bear to express, not with two other children. It is lovely being able to leave her knowing she will take a bottle, she also sleeps better after formula which helps me.
I wouldn't say I'm a formula convert, if circumstances were different I wouldn't formula feed even 3 bottles a week but I am more understanding as to people's reasons for it and am more understanding that they definitely do seem to sleep for longer on it, it's less tying someone else can feed them easier etc.OPs so far £42,139
