Sorry to hear you're having such a bad time fluffysox :( i have a few piles and that was before any pushing so i suppose if there is a silver lining to having a section then thats one of them! I hear anusol is best for shrinking them, i have some waiting at home for when we get out.

Congrats TTC, so glad she is finally here, and what an entrance - 00:01! Lovely name to :)

I feel really fed up this morning. My sister is throwing a baby shower for me this afternoon. One by one, all but one of my friends have dropped out, which means there will be me, one friend (not a close one) and family. I just feel really let down and want to cancel it now.

Oh vic :( people are crap sometimes! I would feel really let down as well but i bet what your sister has organised will be lovely even if it is mainly family. You will probably end up having a much better time than you think.

Sweetie i feel your pain. I had a traumatic birth and while I'm better 3 Weeks on I feel sad that i didn't have that moment where they hand you your baby ( I was under ga) freshly born. I met him 3 hrs after he arrived. I also didn't bf because I'd been given so many drugs by iv post birth I couldn't see how breast was best. He was ff in my absence anyway when born as I was in icu so missed that first All important feed. Similarly I was too poorly to look after baby and it was a combo of oh and midwives doing all the care so bf really was just out for me. I was torn anyway on bf but think I'd have given it a go had circumstances been different. I have found it hard not bf though as baby is a bit colicky and I blame myself even though deep down I know breastfed babies get colic too. Anyway I'm not trying to upset anyone here but reading the tone of your post I just wanted you to know your not alone with the rough time and I genuinely really feel for you as I know exactly what its like to have a baby yet be able to do very little for them. Get well hun

Ditto this. I missed that "rush of love" feeling you're supposed to get and had pain & panic instead with 40 doctors/nurses/midwives working away at me before being whisked off to theatre.

10 weeks on now & my perfect little person loves me more than anyone else (sorry daddy but its true!). At the time I thought it was going to be so difficult to "make up" for those first days that I'd missed but it's the most natural thing in the world.

I'm bottle feeding as well after originally wanting to breastfeed. Took me a while to come to terms with it but the hospital were great with me. Took me longer to stop feeling guilty about being relieved that I wasn't breast feeding with everything else going on (does that make sense?)

Congratulations TTC40! So so pleased to see she's here safe and sound :) think I've missed a couple of announcements so congratulations to them too :)

Re: feeding choices. I'm going to give breastfeeding a darn good go but I refuse to beat myself up about it if it doesn't work out. The most miserable and hurt I've seen new mothers is when they feel bad for not being able to make breastfeeding work, when they should be enjoying bonding with their little ones. Haven't had much pressure from midwives yet but that's cos I was told that you should say yes, I'm planning to breastfeed to avoid any lectures lol

Slept better last night as I've added an extra pillow to my little nest. By the time this baby comes I'll have a little fort going I'm sure lol

Vic that's crap but I'm sure they'll be the ones upset that they missed a wonderful time x

Thanks ladies. I've had a good cry, mainly for the money my mum and sister have spent on it. Guess I know who my real friends are. Will try to enjoy it. Xx
