Good news is I've just been admitted. Bad news is I only became priority because I tested positive for group b strep.

The reasons suck but best of luck to both of you and sounds like you'll have the best side-effect from penicillin ever.

Hope to hear news from you tomorrow if not sooner :)
  • Congratulations on your arrivals Toothfairy and Deva :)

    Congratulations tooth fairy & deva!
Found DH had been on pinterest, while I napped earlier, looking at nursery inspiration. He's so cute :happyhear

Aw that is really sweet. My DH leaves anything like that to me, shows no interest whatsoever. I had to make him come and look at how all the baby clothes were stored when I'd finished going through them and washing them. In case I needed him to get more out due to longer than expected hospital stsy etc. It really annoyed me that he looked totally bored when I'd done all the work, he could have at least pretended to look interested! Anyway nice outfits/ cardis are hung up and I have two baskets on the shelves. One has Newborn vests and babygros, the other 0-3. I put an unopened multipack of 0-3 across the top of that basket so it was easy to see which was which. Does he remember me showing him where to even find a babygro? No! When I described how to find them and why there are two baskets, what size did he bring to the hospital? Yes 0-3. Does not pay attention!!!! Nevertheless I can't complain he steps up when needed. Doing everything atm. Needs directions of course

They are going to nuke me with high dose penicillin and start induction. They have said its likely to be a tomorrow baby - but who knows?

  • Congratulations Deva - beautiful name. Pleased it was nice and quick for you.

TTC - glad they've found you a bed although a pity it's because you have group b strep but at least you're in the best place now.

Been to hospital for monitoring as baby not moving since early hours today - very unlike him. I am paranoid too after losing one 11 months ago (albeit earlier on) but all ok. Baby really low down so she expects me back there soon - hopefully for the right reason.

Ttc huge hugs good luck xx

As an aside, has anyone else been diagnosed with group b strep? I was at 11 weeks & just wondered if anyone further on than me had any more info than I do.

I was never diagnosed but after reading about it when pregnant with my first I decided to pay for a test privately via the Internet, cost around £35.00. They send you a swab kit and you send it back, they then write to you with the results.

I was negative but some women have it present all the time.

Thanks Amus. I've had the test & it was positive. My mw isn't very helpful, I've been told a blanket no on water birth/home birth & would just like to discuss it with someone :)

Ah sorry didn't read that properly!

I thought if you were positive for strep they offered you antibiotics via drip during labour as a matter of course.

Yey Toothfairy and Deva!!! Huge congrats and well done. How are you feeling after section toothfairy? I hurt alot for 3 days and then never needed painkillers again for it! I'm only saying that cos I remember on day one feeling like it would be weeks of pain and actually it really isn't! ! TTC40....I actually cannot believe What's happened with you!!! No beds? ? I didn't think you could go that long as my waters went and the first thing hospital did was book an induction 24hrs later in case i didn't start on my own ( which I did ). Wishing you a safe delivery. I'll be keeping my eye on thread for your annoucement. I'm sure things will be fine and glad you have a bed ( sorry to here about the strep though). Good luck! !!!! Xx
