Freya was born yesterday at 17:36, all fine and home now.

Escalated quickly from contracting every 20 mins around midday- maybe the RLT? She's sleeping well, I haven't yet...

Glad to be home for so many reasons including ridiculous tropical temperature and room above a&e. Surreal
  • Congratulations deva!!

Big hugs to everybody else who needs them - join me in the realisation that legitimate mulled wine consumption is just a month or so away... :)

    Congratulations Deva :j
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Baby Olly arrived this morning at 3:30, after a very long back to back labour which ended with a c-section after failing to progress past 7cm. He was 9lb 10oz  I thought a section would be my worst nightmare but really couldn't care less now as he is here and perfect!
Congratulations and I'm glad to hear that having a CS wasn't the nightmare you thought.

Anyone else worried about this storm that's supposed to be coming?! Slightly concerned as the MLU is pretty rural and if there's loads of trees down etc no way would we be able to get there. Plus I am living opposite a building site at the moment- lots of loose bricks and tiles stacked up
I'm sure the chances are everything will be fine and you will be able to get to the MLU but if you are worried, perhaps preparing a few things in case of needing to give birth at home might be helpful/reassuring?

Congratulations on your arrivals Toothfairy and Deva! :j

Feeling so frustrated for the other ldies, hope you have your babies in your arms soon. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Congratulations!

If you weren't in the northwest I would think your hospital was the same one as mine - DD1 got heat rash because it was something ridiculous like 25 degrees in April!

Haha my due date is end Jan so I'll be having first sober Christmas since I was first allowed a weak snowball age 14 or so! :)

Congrats to the new Mums (and Dads) and thinking of everyone feeling exhausted or fed up today.

Hubby working all day today so have been down to the high street and got my Boots club changing bag (not beautiful but a good freebie) and sorted some other bits: prescription, charity shop, tonight's tea! Feeling tired now and going to put my feet up for a bit!

Ah well at least you will be able to indulge in Christmas food whilst I'm busy trying to lose the baby weight... (whilst on the mulled wine ;)..)

Ahh going to tempt fate by going on a nice 3 course meal tonight

    congratulations Toothfairy, same name as my OH's :) it's defo a good'un.

Congratulations Deva, Freya is a lovely name.

Brunettegirl - my sister had to have her waters broken after 7 weeks of contractions with her second, baby was born within 2hrs. Fingers crossed they can do it for you xx

TTC - are you still contracting? has the community midwife come to check on you? That's terrible that you have to wait so long. Agree with others about checking if there's another hospital nearby you can go to.

Re: storm - we're off to the baby show tomorrow so I'm hoping the winds don't pick up before then, 2hrs on the M4 from Bristol to London in a storm isn't my idea of fun.

Has anyone been to the baby show this weekend? I'm really excited about getting the pushchair, car seat and resusables, it's the last things we need then we can set in for the long-haul before baby comes.

AFM - I'm soooo tired, I was awake at 2am then tossing & turning until I eventually gave up and went to sleep on the sofa at 5:30am as heartburn kicked in and I needed to sleep slightly upright. Had both cats running across me playing chasing games for ages, must have run across my head about 10 times but was too tired to tell them off.
