I'm still here. Nearly a week overdue with no pains or niggles or anything :( hopefully I get my sweep tomorrow, she said she'd only do it if there was room in labour ward :( I can see us going into November :(

Congratulations TTC! How exciting that the babies are starting to arrive now! :D

With regards to FF/BF, I am sorry but I find it quite rude when people ask 'Why aren't you BF?' as that automatically comes with a tone of judgment- else why would the question even be asked? Why do people care how other people feed their babies as long as they are loved and happy? It's a personal choice and everyone will have an option that is best for them, their baby and their family. I firmly, firmly believe that FF is not a second class choice- it's just a different choice. I also think correlation with family environment for future health is a massive factor in studies that never seems to really be acknowledged.

Anyway, due date today! I amazingly had a good night's sleep so I should make the most of it and go for a long walk or something before the weather turns. No signs apart from some minor tightenings but I think I am just imagining them into existing anyway :)

Neneromanova- I will probably be in your situation in a week! I hope things get going for you soon.
  • congratulations ttc! glad shes here at last!

cloudy - happy due date! woo!
i dont think Rebekah meant any offense by her question, i know its an emotive subject but she was really just asking why people had chosen not to, there wasnt any accusation saying it was a bad thing, just curiosity. tbh its given me a bit of an insight from the answers that have come back.
personally im the same as TeamLowe, ill certainly be giving bf a good shot but if it doesnt work out im not going to beat myself up over it, happy baby is most important, its interesting hear though the pressure from others to switch to ff so they can have a turn at feeding baby. that hadne even occured to me!

  • worried doesn't even cover how I am feeling. I doubt very much that I will have a favourable cervix for this breaking of waters.

Still nothing no contractions or anything :(

Still waiting for m/w to call to see when we go in, wish I had a better idea of what they might do, but its all if buts and maybe's

do you think they will stick a drip in or just send me home if nothing has happened?

11 days over due today will be 42 weeks on Wednesday...
I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:

It's funny you're talking about BF, I was just thinking the other day about how nice it is that no-one had even questioned each woman's choice on here about why they're BF or FF. It was nice not to read any judgemental comments for once and made me feel a lot better about my attitude which is, I don't much fancy it but will give it a go. We've already bought a pump so OH can help with some feeds and got a bottle set (and Perfect Prep is on the Wishlist!) as I expect to move onto formula relatively soon. I have fears that I'll suffer from PND and honestly think that the pressure of being the sole provider of food for my baby on top being tired and sore will just make it go from a possibility to a sure thing. :o Also, my SIL is still BF her baby at 7 months and is up 3 times a night for feeds, he won't take a bottle at all so grandparents can't give them a night off, she can't go out for too long during the day without him... she's just so tied and whilst I know that it's her 'job' to be there for him all the time, I'm going to still need to be me IYKWIM. I'll be looking to go back to work after 7 months so can't imagine still being so tied to my baby at that stage, it will make going back to work so much more difficult.

    Congratulations TTC40! :j

Sorry about the drop-outs at your shower Vic, how disappointing. :( Hope you still have a nice time, and your friends do something to make up for it!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Just 'fake detailed' the bounty lady. Feel slightly bad as i know their only doing their job but they are SO pushy trying to get you to buy their photos, sign up to their mailing lists etc! Poor woman in the cubicle next to me is still bed bound with catheter etc in and she was trying to give her the hard sell on the photos. Terrible they let them onto the wards at all i think!
  • Yay TTC!!! Gorgeous name, hope you've managed to rest and get to tell us all about it later - very happy for you :)

I've joined the boldies list! If I'm here for a week I'm getting a t-shirt.

Happy due date Angelmommy & cloudy :)

Has there been news from COMP lately?

Nene I hope you train someone else how to post and update the list when you go ;)
  • BabaMoose - thank you! Happy due date to my EDD buddy; Cloudy!

Anyone else feeling/felt incredibly sick near the end? I have felt so sick that I'm tempted to pop an anti-sickness tablet as it's stopping me from being able to eat/drink properly. Contractions through the night again but to no avail. Didn't think I would make it to EDD, now I'm stressing that he may come on Halloween - it was last Halloween we found out we were pregnant with the baby we lost after 6+yrs of trying. Wanted Halloween to stay special for our Angel, not replace it with new baby's birth. Am I being silly?

  • I think being pregnant, having a baby, being a parent is really hard and there are some very difficult decisions to make and sometimes we don't even get to decide.

    Breastfeeding/ bottle feeding
    Elective c sections
    controlled crying etc

are all subject that will hit a nerve with some people.

I intend on trying to breastfeed my baby when it arrive it is what suits me best and what I am happiest with. If parents choose to bottle feed I dont have a problem with that at all. As long as baby if fed and mum is happy then that is the main thing.

I was offered an planned c section for this baby as my last baby was very big and got stuck but for me it is not something i would choose. I have 2 kids that i live alone with and not being able to lift or drive would be a nightmare. If i end up with an emergency section then I will just have to cope :)

Hug congratulations to TTC so glad baby has arrive and good luck to all the boldies hope things get moving soon.

I am really struggling with heartburn think i might go to the doctors, gaviscon, remmies etc arent touching it :(

Hugs to those that need them xx
Just take each day as it comes. :)
