I just wish all the fiddling about didn't cause so much pain and discomfort. its just all so wrong
Iam the grumpiest woman around and know I have to go through hell first to get this baby out.
Iam not going to think its worth it for a long time....I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:0 -
Big hugs for you AngelMommy, hope your baby comes early this week.
I always think things are down to fate though, maybe your Angel baby wants this baby to be born on the 31st so a sad day is replaced with a happy day?
Nursery is looking lovely BabaMoose! :T Ours is so nearly there, just need a lightshade and *something* to go on an empty patch of wall. Was thinking about doing a light up canvas but can't think of a design for it, I'm not the best artist so it has to be pretty simple!
Glad you had a lovely time Vic, I always think it's the people who miss out are the ones who end up with the biggest regrets.
Hope your baby hurries up and arrives very soon Brunettegirl! You're clearly far too comfortable for the baby to want to leave!
I had a very grumpy, achey day yesterday.Back was hurting (felt like I needed to be hung up like a puppet to ease the pressure!) and bump was sore all day too. OH ran me a bath but it was way too hot so I only had a few minutes in there before getting annoyed that I couldn't cool it down without wasting loads of water so had a little strop about that and refused to get back in later.
Feeling it again today too so I'm not too impressed.
All the piles talk has me very worried! The things they don't tell you! I'm already somewhat uncomfortable in that respect so really don't want to have to sit on a rubber ring after the birth because they're so bad!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. On my phone as still in hospital so limited update at the mo.
All is progressing well with us. Lucy on iv antibiotics due to the group b strep so unsure if we will be allowed home today. If not, hopefully tomorrow.
Ended up delivering with just gas and air as they couldn't get epidural in. I was cut & stitched. Is it witch hazel that's recommended for use after? What do you do with it?
I'm tender down there & also feel like my body has whip lash! But other than that I'm ok and am in love with our daughter.0 -

Just jumping in for a moment: I've seen something on pinterest that might work. Canvas in a frame, stickers, then spray painted over, peel the stickers off, put a light behind it. I don't know more than that though, but it might be something worth having a look for. Hth!0 -

Hey - general consensus is that you put it on your maternity pads and it helps with the healing/bruising downstairs.
There is also a lot of info that says combining the witch hazel with cold (putting witch hazel pads in the fridge before use etc.) is a great help with any pain too.
Apparently you can get pads pre-hazeled (that's a word, right?!) if you fancy sending your OH out on errands0 -
Thanks for all the hugs. Feeling a bit brighter so far today, probably because, other than 1 loo break, I slept well with no contractions. Can't believe I'm still pregnant!
Vic - so pleased you had a good time anyway and, like you said, it's a good way to find out who your real friends are. X

Morning Ladies,
labour vibes to all the boldies, hope 28 October becomes a very popular birthday
TTC40 hope you and Lucy can go home soon and your innards are quick to recover
looks like from here I should add 'rubber ring' to my newborn essentials list lol having a family full of women i thought i'd heard every 'horror' story going but piles from pushing is a new one on me!
Angelmommy hope this week goes well for you. Firsts after a loss are always tough so it's no wonder you're upset and all over the place, especially with the date being something that's splashed everywhere
Beginning to get really annoyed by my hips, i can't lie on my side for any length of time without the top of my thigh hurting, which obviously makes for a fun nights sleep. woke up last night face down on all fours as clearly sleepy me had decided that was a belting sleeping position
I did tell the midwife i was having issues but there's little they can do i suppose, especially whilst i can still walk.
Told my boss on friday that I'll be taking the VR that's being offered as i can't keep my job anyway due to a massive restructure. so that makes me feel a lot more relaxed at work lol
Also I'm pretty sure little miss has learnt how to do jazz hands - i kept feeling what feels like her pushing an appendage and wiggling it against the outside of my tummy. rather distracting lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Awww how cute TL! Well, I think funny movements like that are cute at first then I'm like 'All right, you've shown off now, time to settle down again because you feel funny!'
The hip pain does not sound nice at all though. My friend has had really bad hip pain since being 16w and says the only thing that really helped was a hot water bottle.
Re: Witch hazel, I saw something on Pinterest about 'Padcicles' where the woman had opened up maternity pads/ sanitary pads and put witch hazel on them then wrapped them up and kept them in the freezer. Think she may have added lavender on some too? Sounds like a great idea and it's definitely on my pre-labour checklist!
Thanks for the canvas tip Mrs TM, seen loads of things like that too, it's just a case of finding a good design to use! Will have to look out for stencils/stickers.
