So many babies just waiting to make their appearance :j

I am still unwell and ridiculously tired. Slept most of the day away and still struggling to keep my eyes open.

I've decided I've changed my mind. Looks like there is a massive storm on its way that may rival the Great Storm of 1987...

If this isn't a sign of impending baby then I don't know what is.

Good luck TT40 - CANNOT believe no beds! Looking forward to your annoucement. My waters went too and I was told I needed to deliver within 24hrs so hopefully you should have your baby soon!!

Toothfairy - guessing your in labour now. Pain free vibes to you !!! Sounds like me - waters went and within a couple of hours contractions went beserk - every 3 minutes!!

Regarding baby baths - I bought one and wish I hadn't. It's way too cumbersome and big. Because I had a c section once it has a bit of water in I can't lift it. I would wholeheartedly recommend a washing up bowl which I am now buying as I can't stand the inconvenience. I'm glad I didn't get a bath support too as leaning over a bath is hard following the section too. I know most will have a vaginal birth though (and that was the plan for me too!!)

Secondly, regarding the PJs over nightie question. I took nighties as I assumed I had to since my bits needed to be out for all to see. However, I ended up labouring in my jeans and tshirt which I arrived to hospital in, taking my jeans off only when I had to! That was largely down to the midwife ar5ing about saying I wasn't in labour when contractions were 3 mins apart and them considering sending me home so telling my OH not to bring my bags in(but that's another story!!). So it just shows you can wear what you like really.

I was grateful for nighties because I had a c section and the initial pain was too great to be able to wear PJ bottoms rubbing in that area. I was also bedridden due to the nature of my birth for a day and half so had to have a catheter, which would have been awkward in PJ bottoms! The hospital did provide me with a gown but it was wide open at the back and post birth I was so cold. I had an awkward birth in the end but I walked in believing I would have a straightforward one but preparing for the slim chance I wouldn't and boy am I glad I did!!!

I just stripped off when I got into the labour ward :D :rotfl: It's like I went through the doors and was naked ;) :rotfl:

Wear what you like ladies :) They can't tell you what to wear. Nighties are obviously easiest if you want to cover your top half, but makes skin to skin harder, or you can just do it nude, you've got to think, they're only boobs that they're seeing extra so not anything amazing. I think they're already seeing the worst of it :rotfl:

    Marvellous :D

I wore a nightie however I couldn't really have cared less what I was or was not wearing as my mind was on other things. Afterwards though I was comfy in nighties as I spent loads of time in bed and the hops was really warm.

I remember being put in a gown after 14 hours of gruelling labour ready for my section and thinking 'they are getting my baps out OH GOD!!!!' so even when I thought I wouldn't care as they had almost had their heads up my front bum I actually did!!! Weird!!! I have crap boobs though! :rotfl:
