Angelmommy my bet is the moment you sit down to relax and think of just having a little you time... BOOM... out he'll pop.

Then he will grow up to be a ninja.

I very much suspect I'll be late next week, as I don't feel like he is engaged at all. Keep forgetting about the sweep tomorrow though... should probably tidy (the house..). So odd that someone I don't think I've ever met is going to come round to 'service' me...
  • BabaMoose - haha like the phrase: "service" you. Our girls were born in the early hours (with 4 & 3hr labours) so automatically assume this one will be too. Good luck to you too, aren't you due tomorrow? Xx

Yip yip so they tell me.. they appear to automatically book sweeps on your due date so I have that to look forward to.

I just have a niggling feeling that they've miscalculated slightly (as at the start it was all a bit of guesswork as to how far along I was) and I have another week left in me.
Good news for my to do list! Bad news for my maternity leave allocation... Luckily I think OH will be sensible about his pat leave and not be silly enough to waste it when there is no baby yet, as it is meant to start today. Although... I do get the impression he is having sympathy hormones as he has been a bit strange lately. Maybe he is nervous. Maybe I should be more prepared... hey ho.

    No room at the inn:(.

They haven't got a bed for me. I am to go to the hospital this evening and they will monitor baby. If there's a bed I will be admitted. If not, home again.

Really need labour to start. Just been for a 10 min walk. Have tried rest this morning & that didn't do anything.

Not sure if anyone on here is doing any of the exercises from spinningbabies.com but I've just seen this one for pelvic floor release that might help those in early labour/baby not yet engaged http://spinningbabies.com/techniques/activities-for-fetal-positioning/side-lying-release

Second to last day in work! Hope Vic is having a good last day! I think baby has turned and is possibly head down, she's shifted sides anyway as all limbs as now the opposite side. Keeps popping in and out of being engaged which is so uncomfortable, I seem to walk normally them suddenly start waddling! :rotfl:

That's me done until July :j I've been so spoilt by lots of lovely colleagues:D

AFM - just watched a water birth of a breech baby, I soooo didn't know you could birth a breech baby naturally. In fact the NHS website says the safest method for birth is c-section, but then if your body is designed to birth a baby and a c-section isn't without risk...how can they say one is "safest". So much misinformation for expectant parents out there. Plus every midwife has to go through training to deliver a breech baby. Luckily I don't think ours is breech anymore :)
It's a long time since I read about it so I can't remember all the detail but from what I've read there was a large study done comparing outcomes for planned vaginal vs planned CS breech births. From memory there were some flaws to the study such as those attending the vaginal breech births didn't necessarily have the required expertise/training and that they didn't distinguish between various types of breech which is important as the variation can make a big difference as to the appropriateness of a vaginal birth. The problem now as a result though is that due to the fact that most breech births are by caesarian, MWs/Drs are less experienced at breech births.
