MoneySavingMamma - hope the baby doesn't rush out soon. One of our NCT class had theirs at 34.5 weeks & they were in for 10 days. I think this was to get him back to his birth weight.
37 is considered term though so you are not too far away from that & if the baby is a reasonable weight you may not be in too long.
Are there no other parents from school who could help a bit?0 -
Gosh that's interesting BWP! I was planning on getting lots of brocolli and spinach so maybe I'll nix the spinach! How weird, all I've heard for years is how iron-rich spinach is!
Birdie just lurking and saw your post. I saw a midwife say on tv that baked beans & dried apricots are good for iron & failing that bread if you're desperate.0 -
Moneysavingmomma - quite frankly I think your MW is a cow! The last thing a pregnant woman needs is to be told it's going to hurt more than the other times and that you're likely to end up giving birth at home without making it to your place of care. However, panicking isn't going to do you any favours either so I prescribe a nice hot bath and a cup of tea with a biccie
Sit there with some nice lavender bubbles to relax you and just think whether she comes in the next few days or the next few weeks you will soon have your very own little princess. Besides, we all know subsequent babies tend to pop in and out of being engaged all the time.
I would also say that just because you're measuring small doesn't mean she's going to be tiny. I'm measuring small but baby is measuring perfectly when they do the growth scans, it might just be the way she is laying.
Please take a deep breathe and get that cuppa, it's all going to be ok I promiseI'm a firm believer in these things working out if you let them take their course. Someone will come up trumps to look after the boys and you won't have to do this by yourself xx

Thanks for the replies about the whooping cough jab, ladies. Hopefully the nurse won't find it a problem to just give me the flu jab this arvo and the whooping cough one next time
Good luck fluffy sox!
Am intrigued by the nursing vest idea... Also paranoid about not managing to breastfeed though....Thanks for mentioning it Nene
Saw the midwife this morning. BP fine, heartbeat fine, pee stick fine, then says bump's measuring big (30 cm, I'm 29wks tomorrow) but the baby feels the right size, so maybe I've got extra fluid... Which could be an indication of getting diabetes?! I was a cm "over" at the last check (and that midwife just said "it doesn't mean much, your baby is probably just having a growth spurt), so I'm still on the same growth curve, and bubs has been having a growth spurt the past day or 3, so a centimetre really doesn't concern me... Until she casually mentions diabetes!I have my GTT (and consultant) tomorrow anyway, so hopefully that'll come back fine and she can bog off, but... Meh.
So of course, growth spurt =peckish all the time, and now I feel guilty for eating, in case it's "too much" and I'm giving myself GD!:o
And after 4 months of constant sinus pain, I'm getting bored with it
Moan oversorry
Good luck boldies

Saw MW this morning and everything ok. I don't have another appt now until a possible sweep at 40+7 which will take me into November (boo!), so I hope things happen before then!
Just had the Perfect Prep machine delivered, so I think that really is everything needed now! Decided to splash out as I am really unsure about BF and this has such great reviews.
Think I will do some more natal hypnotherapy this afternoon. Tried it yesterday and I just fell asleep!0 -
Cloudy - OH kept falling asleep when he did it as well. I try to practice the breathing exercises whilst I listen to the cd so I manage to stay awake but ultra relaxed. I've found the more I do it the quicker I go into a relaxed stateDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Pains still there but v irregular now, come on baby! DH just about to head off to work 40 minutes away...0

BZ - remember that both jabs are your choice, so therefore it's your choice to have them on different days.
Picked up our Perfect Prep yesterday (& a couple of other bits to take it over the £100 at Toys R Us), so got a £15 voucher to spend next month.0 -
So... the hairdresser failed to notice I was pregnant until I took the gown off at the end and a group shouted 'Holy Carp**'... then after dropping stuff off at a Charity Shop the lady said I had a nice bump and 'just wait for the next few months when it gets really big'
... I'm due on Friday.
Perhaps this means it will be a sneeze and pop baby afterall...
Boo to them going irregular ToothfairyBut hopefully things are still moving along! Maybe wish for irregular until OH returns from work!!

BigZ - they allow 2-3cm for inaccuracy anyway, it's not an exact way of measuring and as you say it could just be miniZ has had a growth spurt, or is lying differently, or you're carrying more fluid than the average woman. Try not to worry, I'm sure the GTT tomorrow will put your mind at ease though
Wow BabaMoose I'm not sure whether that says more about your bump or their lack of observation skills.
Today's craving - zinger tower burger and a big tub of celebrations. I bought two tubs so I can hide the first if I finish them before OH gets home...how bad am I !!!Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
