Not sure exactly what greens you're planning on eating and they are good things to eat anyway but I just thought I'd mention that spinach is a very poor source of iron due to being high in calcium and oxalates both of which inhibit iron absorption. Most people don't seem to know this - I even had a Dr suggest it when I was admitted to hospital in my last pregnancy due to bad anaemia symptoms.

Gosh that's interesting BWP! I was planning on getting lots of brocolli and spinach so maybe I'll nix the spinach! How weird, all I've heard for years is how iron-rich spinach is!

I presume it's because they didn't used to know so much about what affected absorption and therefore were just going on the iron content of foods and not considering how easily absorbable it was. (Apparently this is where iron fortification of baby rice came from as it was thought breastmilk didn't have enough.)

All good here thank you cant believe your 24 weeks already! Its flying by. You're house sounds much more organised than mine and I only have 2 weeks left :rotfl: my hospital bag still isnt even properly packed much to OHs annoyance think hes definitely stressing more than me this time!

Hope your feeling a bit better soon, I do tend to suffer quite a lot with my iron levels when pregnant as well so feel your pain there!

That's terrible Babamoose! Some people have no idea of boundaries, i'm sure they could've asked you before you went off? My work are not much better, think it's been 3 times now they've rang wanting to know where things are, procedures for things (even though the person who's taken over from me has been there part time since last November!). Annoying.

Just had a 'Congratulations on your new arrival' e-mail from mama's and papas... Lucky i'm not feeling too depressed about baby's lateness today. I spent half of yesterday in tears for no reason, poor DH couldn't do anything right!

TeamLowe we keep getting asked have we decided on a name, we think we have but I really don't want to reveal until she's here and we are 100% happy with the name. I imagine someone won't like the name so if we reveal once she's here it can't be changed :P yay for Oyster I've heard such good things about them x

Welcome Birdie wow you are so organised! I am finding doing stuff at just over 34w exhausting though, and my bump just seems to get in the way. Really want to get everything ready so once on leave I can just read/ relax x

I've had bit of a lazy day, well I'm off sick still so have been studying/ snoozing. Washed some of my DS old baby teddies they came out smelling lovely (think I am addicted to Comfort fabric softener atm!) but I stupidly put them into the boiler room to air now they smell kinda like central heating oil... o dear. So back into the wash they will be going at some point!! I have no idea why my priority was to wash teddies before baby clothes but I am half asleep! Hope everyones ok xx

That's not good at all BabaMoose! I suppose it's better that they call now rather than once the baby's here. Can you imagine them calling on the birth day and saying, 'Oh you've given birth, congratulations... now can we just ask you about work?!'

I've been thinking about maternity leave and as I'm due 10th Feb I was thinking of starting ML from 3rd Feb but taking 2 weeks holiday before so actually leaving work on the 18th January. Does this sound OK? I work in an office a 7 minute drive from home so I don't have to be overly worried about being active or commuting long distances. I just don't know when I'll be desperate to stop work and put my feet up since this is my first I have no idea how I'll feel at any particular point!

KScarlet- the organisation is definitely from my OH rather than me! He's so excited, it feels like every day he's building something or buying something or moving furniture around so we've got more room in our little flat for the baby. It's good though as I reckon we'll be all sorted by Christmas so when I am finding it more difficult/tiring to do things I don't have to worry because it's all done!

Hooray for being Oyster (and Britax!) twins TL! Love mine already, keep pushing it around for 'practice'! Got my changing bag last week too (a PackaPod from my lovely, generous Mum!) which I love as it has lovely little removable bags inside the main bag for food and changing but I don't like the buggy clips that come with it, they're not easy to quickly clip and unclip from the bag at all. It seems such a shame when the rest of the bag seems so well thought out (I'll see how good it is once I start using it!) but the clips are cheap and difficult to use!
