Aww amus , too cute!!!
Congratulations Hopelass!
Re. Midwives - how sweet were all the triplets?! So overwhelming though, can't imagine how you'd even get them home!
Ended up buying a bra on Amazon - not cheap but had good reviews and fingers crossed it won't be a PITA to return if it's no good. If it's nice I'll share the link0 -
KScarlet, I knew it would be that hospital as that is my nearest consultant hospital too. Hoping to not need to go there as it seems so rubbish re visiting hours!
Aw I hope you don't have toI'm really not keen on going there as I feel the facilities are so out of date, the maternity unit is a bit grotty and I didn't have the best experience with my son. I'd like I go to Wrexham but I'm running out of time to decide and it's even further away x
Amus what a cutie! Love the sleep suit! Trying to think if I have that one (it's next right?!) x
I used some vouchers to get a widgey nursing pillow for feeding. I love it already! It's an amazing back support, great for lying down putting it between knees or under bump. Hopefully it'll be equally as good for feeding but I'm wishing I had got it several weeks ago.
Kerri I think I would travel 4 hours max with breaks. Even then I imagine I'd be achy/ swollen etc but it depends how you feel about it? Sounds an amazing break!Trying to save for a deposit
4000/ 10000 saved so far..0 -
Yep its Next, so cute0

Kerri I'd say go for it. It sounds like something worth travelling for, you'd enjoy it and you'd be gutted if you didn't go and the baby didn't come. Obviously there is a risk, but you can't put your life on hold. I had a gut feeling I'd go overdue and I did by 10 days with DD1 and the labour took so long I could have flown to Australia in the time it took for her to come out. Contractions started 4am Sat and she was born almost 2pm on the Sun! but was a bit confusing as the clocks went forward on the Sun!! lolGot married 13/11/10

amus, what a gorgeous little lady! This makes me so broody to meet my baby. So cute!0

kerri I wouldn't choose to do that journey but if its already booked I wouldn't waste it either. It was a nice thought of your OH, even if he didn't consider the practicalities. You could consider looking at the journey and planning somewhere nice to stop en route for lunch and a walk round to break the journey up. And toilet/ coffee stops too. Or even consider travelling by train as then you can get up and walk round and your OH doesn't have to concentrate for so long on the road.

Kerri it sounds lovely, and very thoughtful of your OH, but if the journey there is bad, might the break be spoiled worrying about the return journey? 8 hours is an awfully long time and in December there are potentially bad weather conditions to think of. You have Bath just up the road which must have some lovely spa hotels, surely :rotfl:
KScarlet fingers crossed for a much shorter stay this time, I thought most places were better about partners than that. Must've been lucky! The only rule I found odd is that you weren't allowed to carry your LO in the corridor, and had to push them around in the crib and carry them out in their car seat- apparently some sort of health and safety.
Congratulations Hopelass and thanks for the pic Amus! Roll on January!
I had a successful trip to Kiddicare and found a pushchair :T They have agreed to a pricematch too so it has come down to a crazy bargain - was planning on second hand but it's only going to be £50 ish more for it brand new... in my choice of colour... and with a car seat (which we don't need but it'd be nice to have the one that clips on the frame) Had nothing new for this baby so very very tempted.0 -
Well few shooting pains in lower tummy and in what I think is my cervix during the night. Also my hips and lower back feel bruised/ achy- uncomfortable nights sleep. Braxton hicks but no contractions. Its my brother's 40th tomorrow- I've joked since I got BFP it would be funny if baby had same birthday. Doubt that'll happen but who knows?
My third Glucose tolerance test tomorrow- so no food from 8pm til lunch tomorrowPast two have come back normal but urine tests always show glucose. Hate missing breakfast whilst pregnant. And since we won't get results til at least Tues it seems a bit pointless. Only going because I guess glucose levels may be a danger in labour?
Kscarlet and cloudy- those visiting hours are rubbish particularly if you're only allowed two visitors including the father! My maternity unit has individual rooms so visitors are welcome most of the time and the father can stay late if he wants. However he never came in the mornings last time and tbh we were pestered with nurses, health care assistants demonstrating how to bath a baby, pushy breast feeding support workers, bounty people etc so didn't miss him. In the afternoon we had several visitors- all turning up at the same time of course like buses lol. And tbh since I was trying to breastfeed I found them turning up whenever they felt like it quite tricky so I can understand why on a ward they may still have old fashioned visiting hours. If I don't get the knack of breastfeeding quickly this time I will give up and go home to feed with formula.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013
