Obviously I'm expecting a perfect labour, quick & will just need gas & air :). We all have a dream!
That's what I'm expecting too - I had it last time so planning on the same again.

Congrats hopelass, hope you have a smooth recovery from now on.

Toothfairy I have the same pain in my hip :( it got so bad last week I was only getting around 2 hours sleep per night. My massage really helped on Friday and now I wake up, walk around and stretch then can actually get back to sleep.

Now 5th on the list, eek! My lovely midwife is on leave tomorrow until Tues so really hoping something happens this afternoon... Unlikely depending on how much pineapple I eat!

I am sorry can't remember who asked about visiting hours, my hosp was rubbish when I had my son it was something like 10am-12pm then 2-4pm. It was 3 visitors max per bed so made it difficult when my parents and inlaws both turned up. Dreading visitors this time as I hated DH not being able to stay long :(
That's terrible! Ours is similar for general visitors but dads and your own children are allowed from 10-8.

Where is your hospital KScarlet? That's really bad, i can understand why for general visiting but very harsh on the dads!

Its this hospital ; http://www.nhslocal.nhs.uk/data-and-tools/maternity-finder-west-midlands/royal-shrewsbury-hospital-midwife-led-unit/visiting looks like they have added in 6.30-8.30pm too but partners only at 10-12. We live an hour away so last time it made things so difficult, I was a bit scared to be left alone with a newborn so DH used to come for 10am to stay a couple of hours, then go for lunch, then come back and so on. But it did mean we were both a bit exhausted!! I really want DH to be with me lots this time but with the travel/ a 3yr old I am not sure how well it will work :S

EDIT: Its now ONLY 2 visitors per bed!! So if DH comes in I can only have one other visitor!!! Not sure how this will work with parents/ inlaws etc :S

It really was :( it seems silly looking back but when the MWs brought me my son I said 'you can't leave him with me, DH isn't here!!' LOL I think one of them laughed! I just freaked out I never expected to be on my own in hospital!! 3 years on I do feel much more confident but I really want DH to have new baby cuddles :) will make sure I get out of there even if I have to discharge myself!

I have no idea what my hospital's visiting hours are, hopefully more flexible for dads! Slightly worried about what state it will be in though as they are having a refurb at the minute and the labour ward has been moved. My next door neighbour used to be midwife there and said its long overdue as there were no toilets in the rooms etc. Hoping its a bit better wherever they've moved it to.
