Can anyone recommend half decent maternity tights? I bought some from h&m and although massively comfy both are holey after one outing!

    Thanks in advance

I got these ones from Debenhams and they've been ok. Worn them to two weddings.

Yay, glad it's going well :D I get a bit ...concerned? when the only tales I end up hearing are the more negative ones. Don't get me wrong, I find them useful too - they prepare me for the fact that it might not 'just come naturally' etc, but you'd always like to hear the reassuring stories too ;)

How much has your OH been allowed to be there? Part of my concerns about going into hospital for the birth are that once it's born, if I have to stay in (which I hate the idea of), I'll be stranded for sort of 20 hrs a day with a newborn, while not physically up to much myself... :o

    26+6

My husband is allowed to be here from 9-9 and thats what hes pretty much done. Last night he left at like 7 which was fair enough. Its been great as hes fetched my food for me etc or passed something over if its a bit much to get it myself.

    afternoon ladies

welcome McRach ive added you to the list :)

abis - so sorry to hear about Mickey :( i remember when you brought him home as well, such a shame!

i really need to get myself moving today, need to register with new doctor sine my old one issued me a 'we are removing you from our list as of 26th September' go find another doctor, and then provided me a list of doctors who covered their same area! bit harsh and useless at the same time!
more plug lost again today accompanied by more cramps, fingers crossed, as long as it hangs on til after sunday, id rather go naturally than be induced at 40 weeks!

Congratulations Continualdiamond she is beautiful. Hope they are looking after you and the food isn't too bad!

Abis so sorry to hear about your cat. Must be a bittersweet time for you.

Lozza I am in Derby too, I didn't let DH come in as early as 8am as I wanted him to get some rest (DD was born at 11.58pm) but he came in just before 10am.

Deva never bought maternity tights, just buy the light support ones one size up from M&S / Debs and wear back to front (so bump goes in the bum space)

Bigzippy re breastfeeding: I didn't move off the sofa for the first few weeks, DD would feed for 1 hr at a time every 2 hrs (so only a 1 hr break between feeds) I think it's nature's way of making us chill out after the birth! I carried on until 15 months but don't tend to tell anyone my breastfeeding story as it's not very interesting. Mastitis, leaking everywhere and one boob packing up make for much better stories! A bit like giving birth - you only hear about the dreadful ordeals or the ones born in the lay-by outside the hospital!

I have been to Kiddicare this morning, looking at double pushchairs. There is an amazing amount of choice! Also been living up to my name, on the 4th box of mince pies since mid-Sept - I do wonder why they make them with a use-by date of early October though, clearly I can't be the only one to buy them the minute they come in the shops :rotfl:

Thanks for the bra links ladies, I'll do some further research!
I really want a nice underwired supportive one - I have a non underwired maternity bra and I swear it's pushing my boobs down rather than holding them up! :(

    Gorgeous baby pics! :)

    Hi folks,

Just popping on before my first (and probably last) antenatal class tonight. It's called 'Antenatal Exercise, Massage during Labour and Birthing Positions'... it's a 2 hour one... my OH is particularly excited(!)

Hoping to meet a couple of others due around the same time as me as I don't know anyone local due to pop any time soon...

Will let you know if anything nice/useful/weird comes out of it!

Abi - so sorry to hear your news about Mickey. There are some nasty people in the world. I love all my pets and do not understand how someone could be cruel to an animal. Big hugs. x

McRach - Lovely to see you over here, I remember you from the TTC group. Hope pregnancy is going well. I found the weeks getting to the 12wk mark took forever, the rest has just flown past! x
