Wow so many new arrivals! Congratulations everyone! :)

AFM, 38 weeks today and starting to really worry about going overdue. Really want to avoid induction but I know 'baby will come when it's ready' and there's very little I can do. Still, pineapple for brekkie, lots of RLT, lots of DTD, dates (good for the cervix apparently) and bouncing on my ball all day can't hurt!
  • I think we're ready - except he has no name lol. We were told with last baby that it was a boy and decided on a name immediately....but out popped dd2. We've had 4d scan this time so pretty sure this one is a boy but hubby wants to use that name again whereas I feel like we've already used it. Hard to describe but like using a previous pets name for your new baby.

Bags packed yesterday, everything bought, washed, ironed etc, room decorated/finished, so guess we're as ready as we will ever be. Just don't know where the weeks have gone - first 12 took forever - the rest have gone by in a flash. You ready for your new baby? X

    Hi Ellie

Its an oil filled plug in one from de longhi called appropriately enough 'Bambino'. you can select the temp so it doesn't get over hot but it does need to be switched off manually.

Same one as we have- posted link to it on previous page. Our box room which was DS's room from 6 months to nearly 2 years, gets very cold at night as there are two external walls (1930s house- walls have no cavities) so it gave us peace of mind. DS is in a different room now which is warmer for a variety of reasons. Box room is a study again and DH still has the radiator in there to take chill off when he's on PC til late. Will have it in our bedroom (baby with us) come Winter rather than having heating on til late.

    Congratulations continualdiamond and nessie!!!!
Lovely pic too nessie, thanks for sharing ;)

A huge congratulations to the new arrivals - I hope you all have lovely (quick) recoveries and are able to enjoy your gorgeous LOs at home soon.

Had another awful night with not being able to sleep due to pain from my hips, which then made me have awful dreams about having a traumatic birth :( I don't think it helps that the NCT class which was supposed to relax and reassure DH focused heavily on the role of good positioning in labour and the importance of the coccyx being able to move out of the way of baby's exit. Given that I'm already struggling with my mobility, am frightened of dislocations during birth and have a completely fused coccyx due to a prior accident - neither DH or I are feeling particularly calm now :o

Giant hugs Lily, it's always lovely to 'see' you :grouphug: Have been thinking of you a lot and hoping all is well with you and your little lady.

ETA: Zippy - why did I look?!? :rotfl: That is truly hideous!

    Sorry :p
But don't tell me that._pale_ You know my joints are dodgy, but I also have previous damage to my coccyx and it was agony after I had a colonoscopy a few years ago. Now I'm concerned :( Guess I'll be asking consultant about it next week...

Hope that's the end of your anxious dreams though. I dreamed about my dead Mil, so I'm not fit for much today either

Ugh, bigzippy, that's revolting!! Imagine eating that?! Not sure I fancy breakfast now ...!
:p sorry! :D I was hungry lying in bed at late o'clock, when I saw that. Strangely didn't feel the same urge to eat afterwards :rotfl:

Really must pack my hospital bag tonight!

I'm not ready and neither is our house - we're currently having the bathroom and hallway done and will be without a shower and sink from this evening!

    Hi
I a popping across from the 12 - 24 thread to say hi.

I am due onthe 24th Jan!

All feeling slightly surreal at the moment it is going so fast, my DS/ DH is very excited and looking forward to new arrival. However this pregnancy is NOTHING like my last, which was pretty easy all the way through.

Love hearing all about the new arrivals, and seeing people finish work for mat leave, although slightly jealous as i want to go on MAT leave now, as it is I have to wait until december!
