Thought I'd mention I bought scratch mitts and never used them, a lot of sleepsuits have them already attached, but again we didn't use those either!
I went 10 days over with DD1 so I'm not in a hurry to pack my bag either. I have everything in the house just need to gather them all in the same place
Thanks for that, I will check to see if the sleepsuits have them (didn't even think to check!) my son was born with terrible eczema so scratched a lot as a baby I think I binned all his mitts though. Hopefully baby girl wont have eczema/ or as bad as he did. I am sure if I have this baby naturally I will go overdue again! MIL keeps nagging me to pack my bag but I am only 32weeks so potentially 10 weeks to go! Like you said I am sure I could just gather everything together!
Kerri the chair sounds lovely! I can't decide whether to get one or not :STrying to save for a deposit

I took lots of stuff with me too Maire, but although I arrived on labour ward loaded up like a pack horse (rather DP did)I ended up using it all. We did keep a certain amount of stuff in the car boot though and just got it when needed.
The problem with my hospital is that they don't provide anything, so I needed to bring loads of stuff like blankets, towels, food and drink (they did provide food and drink but it was not very nice!). And that was just for me. I then needed all the baby's clobber including nappies and milk.
You do have to cart it about with you if you move eg from antenatal ward to delivery to theatre to postnatal ward so the 'keep it in the car until it's needed' idea is a good one.
Sounds like you don't have that much stuff compared to me anyway!0 -
KScarlet - I only packed bags yesterday although had previously started throwing things in baby's changing bag. This is my first day off from working full time and wanted to have most things ready beforehand so I could actually relax and enjoy leave and maternity leave (my maternity leave starts the day after my EDD!). I had 8 loads of washing for baby so made use of whenever the weather was nice, to put them out on the washing line. Then if I had the odd half an hour, I would make up Moses basket/sort sleep suits etc. Are you looking forward to having a little girl? I loved having my girls - there are so many pretty outfits and I'm quite girly myself. I'm a little daunted by having a boy (cleaning him etc) but am delighted for hubby, he can't wait for a bit of testosterone in the house lol. I can see this poor boy being a bit feminine with me and his two big sisters around!
Oh and don't assume you'll be late second time around; my first was 17 days late but second was 8 days early!
Re: sept/Oct babies - we ovulated early Feb and happened to coincide with hubby flying back home after being away for 4wks. What can I say? We missed each other.Defo not a Xmas/New Year baby as had an awful time then.

Bravado maybe? I somehow added them on Facebook and won a bra from them last week.
