  • Jeez BigZippy - that is disgusting lol. Wouldn't fancy eating that.

    Welcome Ellie!

Trina/Neneromanova - I tried to update list but couldn't seem to do it right, sorry. If you let me know how you do it without losing the links, I'll be happy to do my turn.

Hospital bags started and finished today - just as well as have started losing the main chunk of mucus plug! Don't think I will make it quite to EDD this time either.

A huge congratulations to the new arrivals - I hope you all have lovely (quick) recoveries and are able to enjoy your gorgeous LOs at home soon.

Had another awful night with not being able to sleep due to pain from my hips, which then made me have awful dreams about having a traumatic birth :( I don't think it helps that the NCT class which was supposed to relax and reassure DH focused heavily on the role of good positioning in labour and the importance of the coccyx being able to move out of the way of baby's exit. Given that I'm already struggling with my mobility, am frightened of dislocations during birth and have a completely fused coccyx due to a prior accident - neither DH or I are feeling particularly calm now :o

Giant hugs Lily, it's always lovely to 'see' you :grouphug: Have been thinking of you a lot and hoping all is well with you and your little lady.

ETA: Zippy - why did I look?!? :rotfl: That is truly hideous!

Hopefully this works - I always said I was having a puppy! Lol
  • Ah Nessie, Rebecca Leigh is gorgeous! Love the mitts. I'm so broody. Just seen you're in Suffolk too - did you use West Suffolk Hospital? Hope they were ok. I've had my girls there but it was years ago.

So, 37+ midwife appointment this afternoon, any good advice on what to ask?

First one since stopping work and only feel like I've been able to think about birth recently.

Not visited this hospital but know where to park, beyond that...?!

Suffering still from painful aches in lower pelvis when getting up, particularly in morning but think this is due to full bladder pressure.

Almost ready for baby to come now bathroom and party out of wa, just need to assemble bed and get skip to sort back garden!

OH my gosh what a gorgeous baby!! Cannot wait to meet mine!! xx

Angel how exciting!! Did you go early with your girls? x

Amy *hugs* you sound very similar to me. I am suffering terribly with my hips/ pelvis. I cannot sleep and have to almost lift my pelvis to turn over, I keep clicking and sometimes my hips lock I think they are going to dislocate/ something break. I also have problems with my coccyx and had to have an MRI to investigate whether natural childbirth is possible or not. I am hoping for the results soon. I actually think a section might be the best method for me as I think a natural birth will cause more damage. Are you under a consultant? I would speak to your MW about your concerns xx

Hope you are ok Bangton, the early days feel very strange and surreal! x

Thanks - 2 per day was about what I guessed.
I already have cellular blanket- some new, some hand me downs so we'll be fine until the growbag stage.

We were thinking about an electric heater. Does yours have a thermostat to switch itself on and off when it's too cold, or is it manual only? Baby will be in with us initially, and an electric rad will make OH far too hot, but he'll just have to lump it ;)

    Hi Ellie

Its an oil filled plug in one from de longhi called appropriately enough 'Bambino'. you can select the temp so it doesn't get over hot but it does need to be switched off manually.
  • KScarlet - I was 17 days late with my first but second time around went into labour 8 days early. Can't believe I'm due in 20 days as it is, without possibly going earlier. X
