So, I have a few health conditions and have just entered the 2nd trimester, so it seems baby is sticking around and I feel (slightly :o) safer asking here now : do any of you ladies have ME/CFS, or Fibromyalgia, or Joint Hypermobility Syndrome? And if so, how have you fared? What treatment have the midwives/consultants/whatnot given/offered?

I am REALLY pee'd off with DD1... she borrowed the basket for her baby.. and gave me it back last week having washed it all. Fortunately I decided that I was getting a new mattress for it which arrived today... this evening she 'confessed' she had bleached the mattress cover because it had had mould growing on it yet she hadn't told me!!!

I have had a bit of a yell fest at her.. after all the crap about SIDs and new mattresses that every man and his beast knows about she puts my baby at risk, and asked how she would have felt had I given her it in that condition!...

I shall take my hormonal rant to clean the kitchen!!!

Sucks pp - so glad you decided on a new mattress anyway but there's no excuse for that :(

As you can possibly tell, I can't sleep. Tired all day but wide awake at 3am

dreamgenie pillow seems to be helping my pelvic/hip aches as I woke up with no aches even tho I had done step aerobics last night hurrah! I did pilates last night too and had all kinds of spasms and cramps even tho I thought I'd drunk enough water. I'll have to start drinking pints of water at a time! 27 weeks today

Pigpen it is awful that DD would do that to you and your bump. I'm glad you gave her a piece of your mind.

bigzippy so glad to see you here at 13 weeks, I remember you from the TTC thread. I have some hypermobility in my joints but not lots - I have had some pelvic, hip and tailbone aches that sound almost SPD like. To stop the aches getting worse I have rested more, do pregnancy yoga and gotten a pregnancy pillow. I think that sleeping with a pillow between your knees helps. I told my midwife about it at my 24 week appointment and she just said to rest more. Someone I know who is also hypermobile ended up in a wheelchair with SPD for all three pregnancies. I think if you have some hypermobility you may have more chance of developing SPD.

hope you got some sleep Claree

Jillie what pram did you get? must be fab to get the vouchers at such a good time

    Hi everyone,

sorry to hear your feeling uncomfortable nikkiann, sounds like your little one is comfortable though and hanging in there. hoping something happens for you soon and you get to meet them.

benicetonmyself: ive been having bad hip and back pain, stopping me sleeping turning over in bed etc, finally got consultant to refer me to physio but still waiting back to hear.
How did you find pilates? is it gentle or are some of the exercises too hard? ive been thinking of taking something up but was worried yoga would be too difficult as i havent done that before and perhaps pilates might be better.

as for me, coming up to 26 w this weekend and i seem to get a different pain everyday, im def not one of those women that just blooms in pregnancy.

Bit of an embrassing question, dont really want to ask my male consultant but ive been having pains 'down below' :) mainly right under, not inside but where your hair is really, its a strange pressure pain its really bad from being in bed over night as soon as i sit up it feels like all the blood rushes there and gets very painful, it gradually eases during the day but if i do a lot of walking i get a dragging pressure feeling and the pain seems more generally than any particular place.
I asked my midwife and she just seemed to fudge it off as 'pregnancy pains'. Ive used dr google and up popped varicose veins in the vagina  which i can imagine look as good as they sound! Ive tried to have a look with a mirror which was difficult enough with my bump but all seems to be ok and i cant see anything.. sorry for that imagine first thing in the morning!

anyone else having anything similar, not sure if its releated to hip pain or something totally different.

Bless you...dare I say it...it could be another week and a half....!!! (going by my experience! LOL!). Get shopping - the excitement will help and make BB's raspberry and lemon cake!:D

I hope you get baby shifting soon - although make sure you remember your last few days of pregnancy as much as you can - it goes sooooo quickly - my pregnancy seems an age off now and I'm glad I made the most of the last few days going out for meals and out and about. Take lots of pics - I am already looking back fondly on mine (I took quite a few each day I was overdue) and it was only 2 weeks ago - time goes so quickly in the first few weeks that you will be glad you did. I am now in awe at the little person chilling out on the duvet next to me....pregnancy seems such an age away now!

Lots of labour vibes to you - anyone heard from Minimuffin or Sparkles yet??? x

Zippy, I have hypermobility syndrome which has only just been properly diagnosed and they've been querying ME for years after I have never properly recovered from Mumps in my late teens :o Obviously this has been complicated for me because of my MH issues, so it's been difficult to know which symptom is related to which issue :o I've found that treatment has been a bit patchy with my GP / midwife / consultant not knowing who should take responsibility for what, but hopefully your area will be better at getting things in place.

The hypermobility has led to some pelvic instability and basically my hips 'popping' without warning, as well as the usual joys of knees dislocating and locking, along with general aches and pains. I've had a few falls, and have been warned that if this continues it's likely I'll be in a wheelchair for at least part of the pregnancy. If you've not already been referred to physio then I really recommend you try to get that referral now - I got an urgent referral from both my GP and my consultant almost 3 weeks ago after I had an accident as a result of my hip popping (poured boiling water over myself :o).

I was told that I should rest as much as possible, take regular analgesia (paracetamol, with co-codamol when it gets bad - have managed to avoid this so far) not lift anything heavy and avoid doing anything that could cause injury - including not returning to work - until I've seen physio and OT. Nearly 3 weeks later I'm still waiting for an appointment from either :o I appreciate that they have long waiting lists, but work are being less than understanding, and it's worrying to not know if I'm making things worse.

Hopefully your team will be a bit more clued up and have things in place sooner. I'm sorry I don't have a more positive story, I did wonder whether I should post at all :o

I am thinking of making BBs cake today :)

Glad to hear all is good with you and LO - I can't wait to have mine out and lying next to me instead of inside me!

Minimuffin and Sparkles have both gone very quiet, I noticed for the last few days

Looking forward to finishing now - hats off to the ladies who work 'till almost due date, I'm shattered at 32+3! Feeling a lot better today, no more cramping but my hands and feet are definately more swollen - fingers are actually a bit sore!

Hope it's not too long for you Nikki!

:( I feel so Sorry for the unborn baby! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4997927/My-baby-at-6-months.html

How is everyone today. Think I !!!!ed little man off yesterday. Was leaning over the bath dying my hair and pushed a little too hard against the bath (could feel him inside) So for the next couple of hours all I got was a foot really hard out my stomach :rotfl:

It hit me the other day that this will be the last time I am ever pregnant :( I do love being pregnant, as much as I complain. Please do enjoy your pregnancies ladies. I know easier said than done sometimes, but you may never feel these feelings inside you again :)
