Oh no Clare I hope your ok now? At my last appointment there was blood I'm my urine and the midwife said she was going to send it off for testing but that was a week ago and I haven't heard anything so I assume it isn't a deadly infection lol.
I don't have any pains though really, that must be pretty scary!

Perhaps you should take tomorrow off to recover (and catch up on the hair and nails!)

Has anyone written a "contacts list" of people to notify when they have given birth?

OH thinks we should one so we don't forget to call or text someone but to me it's most important for our parents to know first and then they can pass it around aunties and grandparents etc and everyone else can wait to be told until I'm ready?

Does that sound awful of me?

I tell my children, my mother (not my dad!) and OHs parents and no one else needs to know..

I set up a text in my drafts folder and add a pic and weight and send when it arrives... and I can be bothered.. I think it was 3 -4 hours before we let anyone know ours had arrived.. no rush.. they weren't going anywhere

I'm generally fine, bit of discomfort still but could be worse! Pains weren't nice but I knew it wasn't serious, dunno how lol it was just a feeling I had!

Thinking about packing my hospital bag, can't be bothered getting off the couch :rotfl:

How weird as I have just come back here to mention my 28 week appointment.

At 25+3 I measured 27 cm which midwife was happy with, today at 28+3 I measured at 32 cm. 1st time she measured she got 34 cm and I freaked out inside as knew that was too much, she re took it and got 32 cm and said out aloud 'that's better'.

I did ask if the measurement was okay and she said she wasn't concerned at the moment, but at my next visit which is in 2 weeks instead of 3 as she's on annual leave that if she has any concerns about what I was measuring she'd refer me for a scan.

Does it just tend to mean baby is bigger than it should be???

She tried ringing for my glucose results to rule out for sure I didn't have diabetes but couldn't get through so is ringing me later with the results.

Besides that baby's heart beat was totally fine. I asked if everything was alright given my fall and she said baby sounded perfectly happy, phew....

i wouldnt worry too much about the tape measure one, it can be widely inaccurate and a lot of midwives dont even use it. It can be different to how baby is lying etc.

even a scan is an approximation. my DS showed as going to be round 8-9lb off my growth scans but was 6lb15oz when he was born

Scans guestimates are wildly inaccurate and up to 1.5 either way margin for error!

I was on the top centile all the way through with last baby and above it at certain points which is why being big again is worrying me as DS was 9lb 13 when he was born :( 1oz bigger and they would have done a GTT, he was 2 weeks late though, but he was massive!

This is why I'm gonna go with a section can't cope having a natural birth with another big baby lol

We just ring my parents, my nan, OHs brother and a couple of close friends when baby is born leave it upto them to spread the good news :) xx

I didn't have a contacts list. The obvious people like family we didn't need a list for, for everyone else we just put an announcement on facebook and waited for the congratulations to pour in. They should be contacting you!

Thanks for the replies re the growth measurements.

Just picked up my answer machine message from the midwife, glucose levels 2 hrs after the drink were 4.4, so all okay.

We don't have a contact list, in fact never crossed my mind. Though cannot afford to ring all my family as they're all back home in Australia so just be my parents I'll be phoning back home and my inlaws to begin with.

I am REALLY pee'd off with DD1... she borrowed the basket for her baby.. and gave me it back last week having washed it all. Fortunately I decided that I was getting a new mattress for it which arrived today... this evening she 'confessed' she had bleached the mattress cover because it had had mould growing on it yet she hadn't told me!!!

I have had a bit of a yell fest at her.. after all the crap about SIDs and new mattresses that every man and his beast knows about she puts my baby at risk, and asked how she would have felt had I given her it in that condition!...

I shall take my hormonal rant to clean the kitchen!!!
