Continual diamond, hope you are ok!

TTC, I think DH first felt movement at around 24 weeks, but the same as Claree, I could feel it externally before that. I find DH can be very impatient and thinks that he should just be able to put his hand on my tummy and bean should kick right there at that precise moment, just because his hand is there! (Though I did have a good laugh at the weekend, DH was giving my tummy little kisses and bean started to kick his head! DH put his hand on to feel, and bean stopped kicking. He went back to the kisses and received more kicks in the face!)

Seems to be the day for midwife appointments today! Everything fine here, except for slight swelling in my hands and it causing carpal tunnel syndrome meaning I keep waking up with pins and needles in both hands during the night. Baby bean did not want her heart beat to be heard today, was bouncing around all over the place! Midwife was slightly concerned that the heart rate was a little fast at first, but once bean stayed in one place long enough, it slowed down to a more normal rate (and was nothing to do with me running late for my appointment and taking less than ten minutes to do the 15 minute walk in the roasting hot sunshine :o )

Afternoon all - went to MW yesterday as it was day 2 of feeling rotten. BP has dropped and she thinks my body is telling me to slow down, she thinks I should be finished work but I only have another 7 working days to go so I am going to plod on though why I thought working to 36 weeks was a good idea I don't know.

Growth scan tomorrow so we'll see what size monster munch is - I am going to be so gutted if they say that my dates are right cos I feel like baby is going to make an imminent arrival with every twinge!

DH could feel some movement from the outside from about 19/20 weeks but really only little twitches. Now, at nearly 25 weeks we can feel full-on thumps and see my belly moving!

Lots of people seem to be having growth scans, do most people end up getting one or is it more common not to have one?

my last pregnancy when I was on this thread- I was one of the few to have them

depends on your previous pregnancies and any health conditions you may have.

I have existing high BP so am on medication for that, which means growth scans to ensure baby is growing. Mine were 12,20,28,32 and 36 wks

If you had a prev large baby you would be offered them too. Or if you are diagnosed with GD you will have them as well.

Ah i see! Fingers crossed i'll not be needing one then. Seems weird that we wont get to see babba again though until he is actually here.
  • I never had a growth scan, just a midwife prodding my belly and making up a weight :)

Well done on the voucher claree! Thats awesome, god damn it i should have complained!

Pp: my chest of drawers has almost been there two weeks, i'd build it myself but i'd rather it stand up for longer than an hour :-/

My dh and family felt movement about 18\19 weeks, but with my first i didnt feel flutters until that time so its all different x
Still here..... but working on that!

This is my 3rd pregnancy but will be the first growth scan I have had - I think it's cos I'm on the red "high risk" pathway cos I'm an old mam (40 at end Aug), had high BP in last pregnancy and last baby was 9lb.

    Hi everyone

Continual diamond I hope your ok, I remember you fainted at the train station before as well? Look after yourself sounds like you took a right knock this time.

Saw my mw on monday, she hasnt booked me for a 28 week apt as ill be seing my consultant and didnt want to double up so I see her next in 6 weeks time.... when then there will be only 9 weeks left, so 15 weeks to go in total from now very scary!

She mentioned whooping cough injection im not really keen on having that might need to read up a bit more, I havent heard about the anti d injection though, does everyone have that or is it only if you and the baby have different blood group types?

Oh has only been really able to feel any little thumps from this week (25) but I do have an anterior placenta, funny though little one didnt like the mw doing the doppler must have kicked about 6 times while she was doing it.

My bump is looking big I think, I was happy about 2 weeks ago when I told people 'oh im 6 months' they seemed shocked, but I ordered some maternity leggings from new look tried them on tonight and omg its huge! I look like im about to drop or look like tweedle dum or tweedle dee from alice in wonderland! Being short and now round is not a good look for me.

Its strange how you notice things day by day, putting my trainers on this morning was hard it really felt like an effort I was suffocating myself by doing the laces... that cant be right can it? Will I have to wear only socks from 7 months!
