Never said anyone had criticised, just gave my view on it same you keep doing.
if you dont want it dont have it" which to me sounded like you were telling people that if they don't want it they should just not have it rather than commenting on it. Also, usually when people are complaining about attitudes of people in a context outside of the thread/discussion they give some kind of anecdote/background which clarifies this. As you hadn't, it was reasonable to assume that you thought that people on this thread had been criticising people for having sweeps. Given how you came across to me, it would have been very rude of me to leave you apparently annoyed/offended by things on this thread so I thought the best thing to do was to clarify the thing that it appeared you may have taken the wrong way.
And I'm sorry if I seemed to be persistently giving my view on sweeps. In actual fact I only gave my view once to ensure it was clear I am not anti-sweep but in future I shall try to avoid such clarifications.
ETA I'm not sure if that comes across right but I only commented on your post about people being anti sweep because I was concerned that you seemed to have been offended/upset by the discussion.0 -
Yeah I think I will start writing my own. To be honest, this is my first so I'm doing it a bit in the dark - but there is plenty of information floating around the internet that I'm sure can guide me.
I'm also a bit nervous as my local hospital often sends non-urgent cases to the next nearest hospital, to which I've never been and is a while away... as I've been one of the most uncomplicated pregnancies to date (which I feel very lucky for) it seems likely that I'll be one of the re-directed ladies if it is busy. Was hoping to discuss this and the practicalities of it with the midwife, but I guess it can wait until 38wks too...
They all seem a bit ad hoc, I'd say about 80% of my appointments have been 'drop-in' sessions because there have been no available booked appointments. I do feel a bit of a nuisance at times, but hey ho...!
Exciting times lay ahead, plenty of positives to concentrate on too0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all keeping well.
My Midwofe recommended I use this http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/birth-plan.aspx#close as a guide for writing my birth plan.
Hope this helps some of you.

hugs Kerri xx I am sure your baby won't take a backseat with family, I imagine they will be thrilled its your first baby so that will be special to them/ you. It does sound very daft of your sister though :S my sister is very similar, when I was pregnant with my son she hated the attention I got from family (first grandbaby on both sides with me & DH being the youngest 'children') she kept inventing illnesses/ doing things for attention. She's older than me too it all seemed so childish!! This time around she will barely speak to me about the baby, has no interest at all. The only comments she has made are about how we wont cope! I'm determined to prove her wrong! Please try not to worry about your sister, she's obviously doing this for all the wrong reasons
xx
Re: sweeps I had about 5 last time! I found them so unpleasant/ painful and useless so I don't think I will bother this time if I am offered them! I think walking miles helped the most last time
Congratulations Welsh and Ani! x

I had a good chat with my MW today about birthing positions, suffering with SPD I am terrified at the prospect of birth as currently separating my knees/ legs at all causes so much pain. She recommended some different positions so I feel more at ease now, looks like if I have a natural birth it'll be on all fours! I am really hoping for a water birth as I think that would ease the pain. In reality it probably wont happen!Trying to save for a deposit

I registered OH with Boots & joined parenting club as I had thrown away the free bag voucher. Having bought a changing bag which I don't think he would carry I thought the Boots one would be a good back up.
Voucher has come today & the letter acknowledges he's going to be a Dad - but also gives him a voucher for 50% off maternity tights!
Not sure they will sell them in his size or fit!
If anyone wants the voucher PM me. I will reply back to the first person & ask for you address & will post on. Also got a code for £25 off £100 spend on car seat/ push chairs. I know there is £25 off on line too - when I bought mine, the codes stacked. If anyone wants to try it, PM me & lll tell it you.0 -
Have been on my hands and knees scrubbing the skirting boards in our bedroom and the nursery. Sat down for a rest and an episode of Masterchef Australia, getting back pain and the odd tightening. Ouch! Baby is rolling around like a maniac aswell.

Glad she has put your mind at rest, i'm sure a water birth would be great for spd though. Is there a reason you might not get one? Or just because there might not be a pool available? Still a bit gutted i wont be able to have one as our labour ward is getting renovated and their not offering them just now0 -
Thanks KScarlet, spoke to OH and he says just to ignore my sister
