Or just because there might not be a pool available? Still a bit gutted i wont be able to have one as our labour ward is getting renovated and their not offering them just now
I might be having a section due to complications from my last pregnancy just waiting for a decision. If I have a natural birth I feel certain it will go like last time where I went 2 weeks overdue, baby was in distress and I was hooked upto monitors so no water birthSorry you won't be able to have a water birth

Hi - anyone interested in the Manchester baby and toddler show that is on this weekend there is a code: MBT109 that someone just posted on my FB wall that gets 2 complimentary adult tickets. Enter the code and then you can choose either Saturday or Sunday it seems.
For anyone already going I'll be there tomorrow at some point hopefully! I wonder how many of us will be wandering around looking at each other wondering if we are 'someone from the forums'...0 -
Got another vertbaudet catalogue in the post today and it had the code for £15 off your order of £20 or more + the free changing bag.
The code is 2753, I think it has to be your first order as well.
Thought I'd post if its useful to anyone as I used it awhile back to get the changing bag and whilst the bag isn't exactly big, it is lovely and a very good freebie.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Thank you ContinualDiamond, I've just ordered 2 sleeping bags to take baby to 2yrs
I don't have a changing bag yet, so that'll be lovely to have

Is anyone else panicking about surviving on their statutory maternity pay? I will be taking a £2000+ a month pay cut, have obviously saved up as much as possible to tide us over but it's still a very scary prospect which i think has just hit me now i've finished work  going to have to be very very frugal for the next 6 months!0

Toothfairy, can't help you there - we only have dh's income and a small amount of disability benefit to live on -and even that's under threat of being taken away next year (whole 'nother story). The idea of a drop of £2k/m is mental to me, cos I can't imagine having that "extra" (to what we have now) in the first placeGlad you're managed to save to make up for it though

Sorta....I know that sounds daft, but sometimes I think arghhhh what are we gonna do and then think well we'll find a way to make it work, have no choice.
But I do know what you mean. I'm on 90% at the moment, then have 6 weeks at half then smp. Unfortunately our plan of putting some of our income away wasn't possible as we found out middle of January that I was pregnant and February is when hubby was made redundant, we found out last xmas that he was being made redundant and then ummmed and arrred about whether to stop trying for a family. Of course as it turned out I was probably pregnant when we had the conversation about whether to stop trying.
Hubby has been working for the past 2 mths now, but it's only minimum wage where as he was on a lot more at his previous job and I've been on maternity leave for the last 3 weeks.
Life definitely throws you some testing times doesn't it??Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to sound ungrateful, i know i am lucky to earn as much as I do but I am by far the higher earner out of myself and DH who works as a waiter and earns minimum wage. It's a scary prospect that the bulk of our income will be gone for 6 months.0

It's not ungrateful, that's your situation and everyone quite rightly can only deal with the situation they're in. No one can ever comprehend what it is like to be in someone else's situation.
I earn more than my hubby of course given his minimum wage job now and I earn't about £2,000 more when he was in his previous job.
It is a very scary prospect when you're used to a certain amount of money and I have definitely had many tears over money. When we found out I was pregnant the initial excitement followed many worrying thoughts re money. I even felt guilty to be bringing a baby into the world in the beginning.
What will be will be. We've already had to say no to a 50th bday invite in Dec as cannot afford the £70 for two meals, the transport cost, the extra money needed for drinks and then the money needed for bets (night at the dog racing). But I suspect that will be the case many many times whilst raising a family.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
