Gestation all depends on how long your normal cycles are anyway, the idea we all have neat 28day cycles is rather ridiculous. Mine have never been regular that I've noticed anyway, I didn't even realise I was pregnant until my OH noticed my chest enhancing miraculously.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

*possible tmi* So... Just went for a pee and had a piece of creamy, yellowy, snotty looking stuff. Definitely not like any discharge i've seen before. Could this be part of the plug? Have had slightly smaller pieces over the last few days but this was a few cms long. Still having rather 'loose' bowel movements and nausea to. Is this my body preparing itself? I feel like such a novice!!

I had similar with DS2, I think it is part of the plug coming away, when I got closer to labour it became bloody also (think this is caused by the cervix dilating). Sounds like your body preparing itself, loose bowel movements are also a sign.0 -
I know everyone is different (i'll prob still be here in 4 weeks time lol) but how long before labour did it happen for you?0

How do midwives get away with telling such porkies to pregnant women?
How in earth did your midwife get to the conclusion that the placenta starts to pack up before 40 or even at 40 weeks? What a scare tactic!
I do find it strange that in some parts of this country midwives offer sweeps before term, surely if midwives want to push natural births then trying to poke a baby out before it's ready is contradicting going with Mother Nature.
I had a sweep and went into labour that night, I was 1cm dilated at the sweep and had had cramps for two days before. I only had the sweep to help things along and I was overdue but not by much. Do what you want, not what the midwife wants.Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -

I think from memory it started coming away about 2 weeks before, but with DS2 I think I was in very slow labour for about 2 weeks. With DS1 I had absolutely nothing until well after labour started. That's not really helpful at all is it!0 -
Lol! It seems it happens at different times for everyone. Some people 2 weeks before delivery, others 2 hours before. Who knows! Have had a feeling for ages that this one will be a little bit early (no idea why!). In saying that, before the 20 week scan my 'intuition' told me he was a girl haha.0

Could be a show Toothfairy. I had one when labour started with DS and it looked exactly like a spoonful of yellowish clear snot except for literally a streak of blood on it. Literally had first contraction in the middle of the night, stood up and it fell out. Sorry to be gross :O Good luck ;-)
Re: my planned sweeps. Because DS was a big baby and his birth although starting a couple of days after due date was complicated by his size (95th percentile) and position (back to back). Labour was good til 8/9cm dilated but then I failed to progress further. They broke my waters and put me on Syntosin but he just was unable to move down birth canal. Doctor was fab, had look to see if forceps would work once in surgery but c-section was only option. However since I dilated as far as I did he was very confident that my pelvis etc should be able to have natural births in the future. So anyway I'm under care of consultant this time, hoping for vbac. Baby is measuring average apart from a big head lol. But still we want to increase the chance of natural birth by trying not to go over due date. So if cervix is favourable they will attempt sweeps twice a week. Then a day after due date the hospital will try and break waters. If none of this is possible then I'll have a date set for c-section. I don't mind what happens as long as baby is safe but would obviously prefer not to have a major operation if I can avoid it- it does take some time to get your strength back. Sorry if this is too much for anyone, what I will say is it was all really positive with my first labour until 8cm- I felt in control and happy. I am just doing everything I can to increase the chance of feeling like that for the whole of labour this time.
Saying that though, I still feel Tuesday is too soon- but thats probably nerves. What will be, will be2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Sounds like there is good logic behind it fluffysox. If it means a better chance of avoiding a c-section then it can't be a bad thing. Will have my fingers crossed for a successful, natural delivery for you x0

I didn't watch it but apparently Cosatto were featured on Watchdog tonight and not in a good way!

Just sat and watched last night's Watchdog for an hour and the only bit about Cosatto was the last 5 seconds, which said 'Next week, Cosatto prams - some are collapsing with babies still inside.'
So looks like next Wednesday's episode is the one to see!0
