Fed up of not being able to sleep through the night. This time because my maternity bed mat is making my left side all sweaty! Is there any point in these really?! I doubt my waters will even break in bed and have potentially 5 weeks still to go. I think I'm going to take it off and sulk watching OH sleeping smugly as I get back to sleep in time for his work alarm to go off :( 36+6
I never bothered with anything the first time but last time I jsut bought a waterproof quilted mattress protector which went on under the sheet.

I think it's most likely to cause problems in the first 20 weeks ( and as I'm only 15 weeks I didn't read in detail about later exposure) but AFAIK they should be doing a blood test to check. NHS choices advises seeing your GP (or MW).

Thank you - I have a GPs appt booked this morning as its still red, hot to touch and now is swollen too. It might be an allergic reaction to something I suppose - just seems very focussed on my cheeks and a bit on my lower forehead.

I did too much googling as per usual (sometimes I wish Dr Google didn't exist! :o) and it said that there isn't much chance of miscarriage or anything at this stage, but it might be passed on to baby so I might have to have extra scans. All ifs and buts and maybes at this stage tho - will see what the doc has to say and take it from there....

Congratulations bride2be - I'm an Abigail as well

Good luck to the other ladies who are due soon :D It is very exciting all the babies popping out :rotfl:

I bought my yellow buggy that I fell in love with by the way :j:j:j I just couldn't fall back out of love once I had seen it. I'm soooooo pleased with it. :happyhear I cleaned up my old buggy yesterday as well ready for selling, but not sure I will get much money for it. I need it out the way tho now, so I suppose anything I better than nothing :D

Yes I started to feel nauseous again at about 35 weeks, think its cause your stomach starts to get squashed and there's not much room. I think as you get more braxton hicks this can cause more frequent bowel movements, although I'm on iron at the moment so seem to have the opposite problem!
  • Nausea returned for me about the 36 week mark, but nothing like it was in the beginning as in no vomiting. The 1st 3 mths in the morning I'd suddenly feel nauseous and within secs knew I would vomit.

I've also had loose bowel movements on/off since about the same time as well. Also noticed I get full very quickly when eating and haven't actually felt hungry. For me my weight gained has slowed down towards the end of my pregnancy and whilst my tummy has measured spot on or just above the average for my chart again the last few appointments I've measured under, no concerns though.

Well as you can tell no labour signs for me. I've had the phone calls and text messages go mad this morning with it being my due date, at the moment it's just like any other day.

Washed some more baby clothes that arrived from my parents on Saturday this morning and planning on finishing off my last scrap book. Also doing some batch cooking today, going to make a big stew so have plenty of portions at the ready.

I see the midwife tomorrow as she couldn't fit me in on Thursday, she's having to come to my house before she's at the Dr's as Tuesday is her day at the Dr's surgery for booking in appointments when you find out you're pregnant. Of course hoping she doesn't need to come round though, hehehe.

  • I'm in a grump today - awful migraine last night, slept for bout 1 hour then couldn't sleep with it - ended up being sick - it normally goes away after that but it didn't :-( even with some paracetamol
Then DH alarm kept going off - so didn't manage to get back to sleep until hubby left for work - not long been up
No wonder I wasn't feeling right yesterday!

Anyone else have migraines whilst pregnant?

Thanks for clearing that up Poppy, I wonder if they'll cover it in my antenatal classes too? I'm a bit unsure about what the NCT ones will go into - I've participated in and helped out with a lot of our local NHS ones, but they're pretty basic tbh and I always wonder what else we should be covering.

I've had 3 NCT classes so far and they have covered a lot of information. One session was entirely on breastfeeding which was very informative and not at all pushy (which is kind of what I was expecting so it was a nice surprise!). The other classes have covered the stages of labour in depth, as well as the pros and cons of different birth plans and painkillers, the role of the birth partner and how they can help and support at every stage, positions for early labour and second stage, and also stuff like how to bathe the baby, what's in a nappy, etc..all sorts! What's nice is that it's not too medicalized, but they do cover the medical and 'natural' issues in a balanced way. It's a small group so we get to have discussions, share ideas and opinions, and do little group tasks, whilst making friends.

Yes, I wake up most mornings with tummy cramp and often need to rush to the loo :( Assume it's normal to be honest I figured baby's body and head is squishing a lot of my insides up and making me need the loo 'little and often' as it were :o:(

I'm drinking Holland and Barrett RLT and actually really like it! I'm on one cup a day this week, then will increase by one cup a day for the next 4 weeks. Who knows whether it actually works, but I'm happy to drink it cos it's yummy! :)

    36 weeks today! :j
  • nessie - ive had a few stonkers of migraines, not helped by the fact that i cant take anything stronger than paracetamol regularly. they seem to last longer as well!

i did get them before but maybe once every 6 months ish

When I went in with the toddler last week, my GP used Dr Google to find a picture of a typical rash to compare with hers!
  • Im awake having pains about 10 mins apart, no show and baby is still moving infact it has the hiccups currently. Sat downstairs as im frustrated that OH is asleep and i am not.
Ive got a bed mat on only because with my 2nd my waters did break on my bed.
