Welcome to the thread cupoftea!! :D and congrats on your pregnancy.

There is another thread for 12-24 weeks of pregnancy if we are a bit advanced on this one (most are over 25 weeks and so we are all that bit closer to dropping). That's not to say your not welcome on this thread - you absolutely are!!! It's just I found it easier to moan and whinge with those around the same sort of stage as me and floated between this thread and the 12-24 weeks when I was at that stage.

Anyway here's hoping you've had a good pregnancy so far! I guess your not meant to do anything other than have a few weeks of growing bigger by the day, a few whinges and moans along the way are totally acceptable and occasionally we do find some offers for baby items so if you have started shopping this thread can be rather useful. I didn't find many baby clubs to join - in fact I did Asda and Boots and ran out but regardless I still managed to do all my baby shopping whilst seldom paying full price anyway so the baby clubs aren't totally necessary IMO!

:D Thank you. I will check out the other thread too. Hope your pregnancy is going well. :)
    Cup of Tea? :coffee:
  • It's great so far Bangton, just not having to get up at 6am
    every day is amazing!

Welcome CupOfTea! I have found the Boots baby club the best. You get some decent vouchers and 10 points for every £1 on baby stuff. Haven't been all that impressed with the others. Like Bangton I don't think I have paid full price for any of my big purchases. Always discount codes etc around, especially as you have loads of time until your wee one arrives there's time to wait for good ones.

Oh, Amazon family free trial is pretty good to! :)

abis - I hope everything is ok. It doesn't sound too good but aren't some doctors just appalling! Fingers crossed it's not slapped cheek and you can stop worrying soon.

kayalana - it certainly sounds positive job wise. Best of luck, I hope he gets the job!!!!

Another sleepless night for me last night and OH. Poor fella is struggling as he has been working on our house, doing overtime, injured his back and now I am up all night. We don't have a spare bed for me to move to but in future I'm going to get up and come downstairs if it happens again. He did say he preferred me to be with him in bed and not alone even if I did keep him up but I am worried about him as I know I felt dog rough this morning and technically could have slept in till whatever time I wanted whilst he probs feels dog rough but still has to be up at 6am!

I hope baby comes soon so we can all be off together!!

Had a day with mum and sister today. We walked my sister's dog although I struggled because I needed a wee half way through said walk and the pressure was starting to get too much! Then we had lunch and speaking of bump talk the lady in the cafe started saying how huge I was and that never mind as big babies sleep better! That annoyed me but even worse her staff member was saying 'only a week to go..you can't tell' and she was making me come round the counter to show her colleague how massive my bump was! Although her colleague was much nicer!!

It's weird really. For the majority of my pregnancy I have been told I'm on the small side but then there are the odd few who say I'm huge! I have to say it smarts a bit! I know I am pregnant but it still feels like they are basically saying I'm fat!!!

Any one notice how absolutely every one asks about your baby? Even a young guy at the tip today told me to be careful and asked what I am having - girl or boy! I rather like it to be truthful - people have never been so nice to me!!!! (apart from when they diss the bump!!!)

I think people just forget how big a pregnant belly looks towards the end! I had people telling me I looked massive at 33 weeks and ready to drop, bump was only measuring 30 weeks so obviously not!

A woman at DS school has just had her baby a week early, she was always commenting that her baby was measuring big (and she did look bigger than me), two weeks ago she said baby was already measuring about 7lb. Anyway, her son was born weighing just 6lb 10! Just goes to show you never know!

Well there were two of us that started maternity leave as of last Monday at my work. So finished on Friday 13th. My friend was due tomorrow and I've got another 3 weeks to go. Anyway, just checked work email and she had her baby on the Sunday night- so before her mat leave even began lol. 4 hour labour, at home- her first baby so I'm amazed and jealous at how quick!
I understand how some of you feel re. bump size comments. I think people do forget how big bumps are at the end of a pregnancy. I am definitely smaller than I was with DS but certain people such as SIL look shocked or make ridiculous comments whenever they see me. Telling me I'm huge etc. I'm not huge at all. Bump measuring less than average. Baby is measuring spot on average. I just ignore it tbh, they mean well.

It's funny my sister said the same thing. I haven't put weight on anywhere else either (which I am amazed by) so my mat jeans hang off my actual hips but then my Tshirt pulls right the way out round this kind of pointy bump! My mum is adamant I look smaller than when I started around the bump but you know what mums and sisters are like with having your back!

I guess it doesn't matter but I'm just not used to being told I'm big I suppose. People don't do it to me when I'm not pregnant so it's just really weird to suddenly stand there wondering how I am supposed to respond. Today this lady just seemed to be talking to me as if my baby was massive and I knew that when actually I've no blumming idea how big he'll be (although growth scans measured him a tad smaller than average!). So it's one of those where do I stand nodding in agreement or what!

The biggest thing I get is that I am carrying all at the front aren't I? What??! Where else would I be carrying him? Far as I know my uterus IS at the front...

Lastly I'd also just like to indulge in a whinge about my toilet habits if that's ok. I AM SICK OF IT!!! I am ruled by the need to wee constantly. I hardly sleep for weeing, I have used 24 toilet rolls in less than a month - thank god they were on offer. I can't deviate too far from the toilet because sometimes a full bladder plus baby's weight means I can't stand up straight! Sometimes I hold it just because I can't bear getting up again for a wee. We've moved our bed so I am nearest the bathroom so I can roll out of bed and dive straight in the loo. I've also taken to leaving bathroom and bedroom doors open so I can just run straight through with no barriers in the way between myself and the toilet.

Earlier this evening I sat having a wee and crying at the same time! It's just a mini meltdown. I'm so used to this but so sick of it at same time. Whilst I give birth and suffer the pain I am going to think to myself at least baby will be out and I might actually return to normal weeing patterns! Please can someone who has given birth tell me when I might just return back to myself as I just know there will be a few stingey ones after I've dropped him too!

    :(
  • Sooo confused.

So have been having contractions...but not sure if they are braxton hicks..but they are def contractions.

Started measuring them as they say best way to tell differnce is that BH are irregluar where real ones get faster and stronger....

I had about 2-3 which were 3 and half min apart and I was thinking this is it...then the next one was 4min9 and next one after that was 4min45 but that was probally the least painful one...so almost like they are dying off now :(

    38 weeks in 19minitues!! lol

I suppose I'll still be here in the morning without baby...getting my hopes up AGAIN....

Oh and bump dropped 100% to but then undropped... grr
People don't know what they want until you show them.
  • Bangton - This is my third and as soon as I've given birth the heartburn and excessive toilet trips etc stopped instantly. I also find sleeping is awesome again - no uncomfortableness etc, just not enough sleep. I do end up missing being pregnant though; it's strange but I feel kind of special being pregnant and having my baby grow inside me.....and then it's finished.

8 more working days until annual leave and maternity - I cannot wait! I'm exhausted. Today finished my last Monday for a year (next mon off as flexi) just tues-fri x2 to go. Woohoo!
