Congrats Helen and good luck to Nikki and B2bSometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

Wow it's all kicking off this morning! Congrats Helen, you must be over the moon
good luck Nikki and bride to be. In my antenatal class yesterday they said to stay upright, go for a long walk and have a glass of wine to relax you to make sure the contractions don't tail off. Fingers crossed you have a safe arrival today!

Congrats Helen. Have put a few muslins in the hospital bag. Good luck Nikki & b2b. X
Lol - auto correct just changed muslins to Muslims. Luckily I noticed as you may have all wondered how big my bag was!0 -
Congratulations Helen! Glad all well.
Best of luck B2B - I really hope today is your day, will keep my fingers crossed for you.
TTC40 - that actually did make me lol. Autocorrect can be hilarious; just the other day on a slow cooker page on Facebook, somebody had marinated chicken and put it in a bag and left on high in the sc (slow cooker) only autocorrect changed the sc to scrotum lol. Didn't fancy that recipe. Yuk!:rotfl:DD1 June 1997

Oooh exciting!! Congratulations Helen :j
Good luck Nikki and B2B!! :j
I haven't posted for ages but have been reading on my phone - nothing exciting to report here really. 37 weeks today and have started taking raspberry leaf tablets and evening primrose tablets. Mixed reviews on whether these do anything but it can't hurt to try?! If anyone has any experience of them though I would be interested to hear!
Finally finished packing hospital bag although after Helen's post I think I might need more maternity pads (I only have one pack of 24).....
Toothfairy - congrats on your last day at workmine seems like a very distant memory now (and my good luck balloon is slowly deflating!)
Amy - I've had both the WC and flu jab though not at the same time and for me they were equal in uncomfortableness (!)(I don't want to say they were painful because they weren't for me). I think they will give you the option of having one in each arm or both in one arm. TBH I personally could still sleep on the arm that I have the WC jab in, it was noticable but not so painful I couldn't get to sleep. HTH at bit, sorry I can't offer any more advice!
Hugs to those who are having work/OH/midwife problems. Its frustrating when we get these extra stresses thrown at us at a time like this when we least need it isn't it?
My next issue today is trying to get hold of the midwife this morning to ask for my blood results. I had low iron and have been on tablets for 2 months. Bloods taken last week when I was told if they are still low I won't be able to go in the birth centre and definitely not the pool! Not happy about that idea so am going to try and get the results this morning and a repeat prescription of iron if necessary.....
Hope everyone has a good Friday esp those waiting imminent arrival of little bundles!!
xx 37 weeks today!First baby due October 2013 :j0 -
Congrats butler_helen!!!
Good luck nikki and b2b... Hope u have ur bundles soon!!! I am not jealous at all!!!
Makes me top of the list!!!
Still no contractions for me... Looks like the induction is on for Sunday can't see it coming before!!!
Oh is less stressed now... Family party done last night, other house sorted so tenant moving in tomorrow and he is really happy that he gets to take his son to uni today!!!
I have a m&p flo and flex which I got cheap brand new!!! One is like the moby, was going to make one... But found the m&p cheap!!! They will do for the first months and hopefully BF... I am planning on going to sling meeting where I can try some other ones as I have probs with my back/hip!!! Want to make sure I get the right one as they are expensive... Oh hasn't mentioned them... But wondered why I bought the first ones... Don't think he will be wearing them!!!0 -
Hmmm, I've been thinking about a physiological third stage too - it's not routine at my hospital but some of the midwives swear by it whereas others are more sceptical. I'm sold on delayed cord clamping (with the obvious medical / emergency exceptions) but think I need to give more thought about whether or not to have the injection.0

Baby William was born on Wednesday evening at 19:48 after his forced eviction.
So far so good, I recommend hundreds of maternity pads and a lot of muslins. I swear we have no clean ones left already.0 -
Ooo lovely it's kicking off for 2 of you this morning! Fingers crossed your babies arrive safe and well and as quickly and painlessly as possible!
Congrats on Baby William Helen!!! I've bought 12 muslins - hoping that's enough and thanks for the advice on that one.
amyloofoo thanks for your lovely words your such a sweetie!
I've calmed down today and feel a bit pathetic. On an MSE forum moaning because for one month I'm feeling a bit strapped for cash! I hate it when I have a low point because I dwell on everything!
I've been getting quite a lot of cramping and backache since last Friday and it's annoying me because I know this can go on for weeks prior to labour. I'd like to just go when I go without the build up!
So ready for baby to be honest. I laid in bed last night getting butterflies at the prospect of meeting him and seeing what a combo of me and my OH looks like! I just can't wait. At times I'm bloody terrified too - he comes home and then what?!
My boobs are tingly too! COME ON baby! I don't even know why I'm doing this - I have a due date for a reason and yet here I am 11 days to go willing him out when I should just stop thinking about it and let it bloody be!0 -
Congratulations to Helen
Well I have massively swollen fingers this morning- finding it difficult to write as the joints are all achey. Is this normal third trimester pregnancy swelling?! Very annoying anyway!
My bump also seems to have gone massive overnight! Glad I am leaving work in a week as most of my work clothes are no longer fitting (didn't bother getting proper maternity stuff, just a couple of sizes bigger). I don't mind if I wear the same couple of outfits over and over again in the last week!0
