My daughter (age 7) also decided to get her head stuck in between a concrete post and a brick wall yesterday!!! Are you sure yous all really want children?! :rotfl: She was quite hysterical for a little while and demanding the fire brigade be called etc etc :rotfl: All was fine once she calmed down and stopped trying to yank it out (thus hurting herself and making her scream and cry even more!), but I soooo could have done without that bit of drama!!!
 Glad all was fine in the end.

AHHHHHH! todays the day, why does the induction have to be at 2pm. really could do with it being earlier in the day, just want to get cracking now. still, I should get to meet my little man soon enough which is the amazing thing. Good luck to the other girls due now and hopefully will be updating next with my big announcement.

    40w!

Ooh exciting! Good luck. Just remember that it can take bloomin ages after they actually start the induction before you give birth so whilst I can understand you wanting it to be done earlier this has little bearing on when baby will actually come out.

Hopefully you won't have too long to wait though

an9i77, please go get checked out if your worried at all. My mudwife has reminded me every visit about reduced movements and how important it is to keep an eye on them.

I meant to update last night but all that lying down made me sleepy! The cold water test worked, baby kicked about five times in the hour after I'd had the drink. Not sure what the significance of lying on the left side is, but that seemed to make a difference too.
So any ladies out there who are concerned about movements TRY THIS TEST, you should count 10 movements in 2 hours.

I do think the baby is moving a bit less, or at least less obviously, now it is full size. I'm in for my pre-op tomorrow so may get them to put the trace on when i'm there.

I think it's just the thought of something happening now, at the 11th hour, which is making me anxious. I seem to remember from my last pregnancy that the most anxiety inducing times are the very beginning (due to m/c risk) and the very end but I've not long to go now so hopefully will have a little babba in my arms very soon.

  • Well I am back at work for just one more week after having a few days off to move house. Absolutely exhausted but it's all coming together so really pleased :) It is amazing how tired I get though now so I have to keep really reminding myself to take it easy!

Went to look at a MLU unit about 15 mins away at the weekend which was just lovely, so I hope to go there. It is about 10 mins further away than the hospital MLU but I felt so much better there.

My baby is not in the right position at the moment, so going to have a scan next week if that's still the case. Hopefully it will turn around by itself in the meantime!

BWP - all fine now thank goodness. She is the most accident prone child ever tho for things like this!!!

Ani - Glad all was fine in the end - so scary when baby isn't behaving tho!

Sooooooo - I accidently might have just fallen in love with a travel system.... I was all set to use mine from DD, only one just popped up on the local selling sites and I am smitten :o This doesn't usually happen to me :o

Its a quinny buzz 4 travel system in my most favourite colour - yellow :j Which will match my lovely yellow car :j Has anybody got any tips on how to fall out of love - or shall I just go crazy and buy it??? :rotfl:
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

  • Just back from midwife and feeling v annoyed. Wasn't my usual midwife, and this woman just seemed to rush through everything and wanted me out the door ASAP. I asked what happens re next appointment as I'm due tomorrow, she said I'll have to phone my usual midwife next week if I want to be booked in for a sweep, then went on to phone hospital to book me for induction in ten days time - without even reading my notes properly as she told the hospital I'm under consultant care, when they discharged me from consultant care months ago. she recons that baby is no more engaged than she was 2 weeks ago, but my bump is definitely lower and I've so much more pelvic pain so not quite sure how she comes to that conclusion. Then she couldn't find baby's heartbeat at first, trying to listen on my right side when baby is on the left (which surely she's be able to tell from feeling my bump?). When I said its normally on the left, she asked if I was sure, continued trying to find it on the right then eventually moved to the left and got it straight away. Humph. Really not what I needed today. I'm now away back to bounce on my ball while catching up with midwives on Iplayer!

Jessi - good luck!!! Ur bundle of joy will be here soon!!!

MV - thanks for the photo she is gorgeous... Nice to see it as have been a few weeks behind you on all the threads!!!!

Abis - thanks for the story... I think it's a bit late now to reconsider having kids!!!

I have been lucky no sickness through the pregnancy!!! When I have been to the midwives they always ask me if I have UTI, as the urine test always shows the same thing on it!!! Have not had it but keep getting thrush all the time which I never had before!!!

Had my second sweep this morning, a lot more uncomfortable today, still favourable and now 3cm... But no sign of baby!!! MW wanted to do one on Saturday, but would have another MW to do it... I passed i said if 2 sweeps haven't done it, a third seems a bit pointless as baby happy there and induction booked for Sunday anyway!!!

With BF I have decided to give it a go as it is my first and see how it goes.... If it doesn't work,it doesn't work, I will know I have tried... Have sainsburys local round the corner and checked they have ready made cartons and formula there, so oh can go and get it if need be!!!

3 cakes ready for party tonight.... Chocalate one looks really gooey, can see mil complaining about that, so 2 backups there!!! Potato salad, salad and chopping of some onions left to do!!!!

Hope baby doesn't come this evening or tomorrow as oh will be 3 hours away.... But Sod's law u know it will!!!

Hi ladies! Just come back from my 36 w app, midwife said baby's head is 3/5 engaged but has moved bum from left to right which isn't the best position for labour. Am hoping it will shift back before labour begins! They didn't seem very worried that I mentioned I was still having spotting, apparently if I'm concerned I should just call the labour ward. Thanks, I am concerned hence why I'm telling you it's still happening!

Anyone else been sold physiological delivery of the placenta? I assumed mws prefer to go for the injection but seems they don't routinely do that at my hospital.

Good luck to those being induced, hope to hear some baby arrival news soon!
  • Agh, am gonna cry, DH just called to say his holidays haven't been approved and he's only getting next week and the following Monday off. This baby needs to come now or else DH is going to miss everything! :(
