Hello ladies. Well I have a date for my C-section - it's on Monday - eek. That means that this time next week I'll have a 2 day old baby!
I have to go in to hospital on Sunday evening to be put on a drip, then Monday morning it's action stations!
I'lll be 38 +3 but to be honest I've had enough of being pregnant now, particularly with my latest health problems and am looking forward to getting my body back.
It still doesn't feel real that I'm having a baby, I would have thought that seeing as I've already had one then it would do but I suppose it's one of those things that until it happens it doesn't feel real IYKWIM.0 -
An9i77, I know exactly what you mean about it not seeming real. My due date is in two days, and I can't get my head round the fact soon (very soon!), were going to have a little person to look after, instead of just having a bump and being pregnant!
Good luck for Monday!

Good luck B2B. It's weird knowing the date in advance, but I think I'd rather that than not knowing when it will happen.
I seem to remember from last time that I was glad to get my body back but strangely missed my bump. I remember lying baby on my tummy for a cuddle so it could feel a bit like when he was still inside me!
Better out than in though, as they say.0 -
**unlurking from 12-24 week thread**
I was surprised to see the midwifes last night letting all the women lie flat on their backs. Only making it harder for yourself there ladies!! Surely that's the bonus on not having an epidural that you can move about and try different positions to see what's working best.
It was only near the very end of labour did they move them onto their side etc..0 -
Regarding maternity coats- I just bought a cheap coat from Tesco which was 1 or 2 sizes bigger than I would normally wear and when I was very pregnant and couldn't do it up I wore a scarf, but I was so warm most of the time I wasn't bothered. I'm still wearing it now as I didn't lose my baby weight and now I'm pregnant again!!
I also had a massive coat that was about 4 sizes too big as my mum had lost a lot of weight. It was handy when LO was little and I wore her in a baby carrier, it went around both of us so we were snug as a bugGot married 13/11/10

Re maternity clothes I as well have mainly bought clothes in bigger sizes. To be honest I mainly got mine from tesco, I just always had a look at the sales section and picked up 2 dresses that were £7 each and a top that was £5. I wore the dresses with leggings as obviously they were a bit shorter than normal with the material having to go over a baby bump when I went out anywhere and then at home didn't bother with the leggings.
Came in really handy when I went to a christening as actually had something nice to wear and didn't spend loads of money on a one time outfit.
Other than got given loads of maternity clothes for nothing, jeans and summer trousers etc, which I have been really grateful for as saved me loads £££.
39+2 today, see the midwife tomorrow, be interesting to know what baby has been up too. I still don't feel any pressure low down, which just makes me doubt that baby is or was engaged, keep wondering if my midwife made a mistake and it's baby's bottom that's low down as I still get strong movements left and right side of my tummy as if baby is laying across like you see on your scan pictures.
Not been up to much, enjoying doing some crafts. I have too many scrap books on the go, a few ones for baby and then a weight loss one that I never got round to finishing. Decided I needed to get them done whilst everything is quite at home, hahaha and actually once I get everything out and get stuck into it, I love it.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
An9i77 and B2b I am with you on it not being real until the little is here!!! And I am well over due and still doesn't seem real!!!
An9i77 you will probably have your little one before me... I am booked for an induction on Sunday and can see it taking a while... Would rather not have it... But I think it's been cooking far too long and worried how big it's going to be!!! I was 3 weeks overdue as my dad wouldn't allow an induction and my sister was born in a police station as they couldn't make to the hospital!!!
Glad I have been pregnant in the summer... I am a skin flint as well and just been wearing summer dresses!!! I only have one t shirt that fits me so wearing oh t shirts and his hoodie jacket!!!
Well stepson off to uni on Friday and his birthday on Tuesday.... So we are having a BBQ tomorrow night, oh idea!!! Told him he will have go do the shopping... just writing a list now for him!!! Lemon drizzle cake made, stepson wants a chocalate birthday cake which going to make now... Also have some apples off the tree so caramelised apple cake after that!!!!
Still waiting for some new babies... Been quiet!!!
41 +2 and really bored!!!!0 -
welsh if your Mum was naturally over, then it might be that you're also a longer gestator. I'm sure your baby will be exactly the right size
we don't really cook them bigger than we can handle I don't think.
I'm convinced I'm going to go overdue, but I really don't want to be induced unless the baby is in distress or there's a health risk for me. Little one will come when she's good and ready.

I did NCT relax, stretch & breathe which is similar I think. Quite enjoyed it & it was good to meet up with other pg women. Gave good ideas for birthing positions & reasons for them. If nothing else it makes you slow down & relax.
Ours stopped for the school holidays & then I haven't been due to placenta issues/ being advised to rest. I know it's hardly strenuous but best not to do it.
Nursery looking good after furniture arrived yesterday. Just need to order a bookcase & have a blind coming on Friday. Don't need to buy anything else. Reviewed hospital bags for me & baby - I'm sure they will be 'reviewed' many more times if I go to term.

This might sound a bit weird, but I think it was linked to my PND. When I was pregnant I obviously knew I was carrying a baby, I had the scans, my belly grew, but it was still surreal all the way through. I kept thinking any second someone is going to say it's not real and I wasn't really pregnant and it wasn't a baby.
This carried on even when I actually had the baby, for weeks after if not months I couldn't really relax or properly bond as I kept thinking someone was going to take her back saying they'd made a mistake and she wasn't mine. I did love her, but I found I couldn't get too attached as someone was going to take her.
I think it sounds bonkers, but this is how it was for ages. It wasn't because I thought I was a bad mother, but just because I didn't think I was a mother.
In regards to going over I had a gut feeling I would go over all the way through so I worked until 6 days before and then went over 10 days so I sat at home for over 2 weeks waiting!Got married 13/11/10
