We've got our first hypnobirthing course session this evening, I'm a bit apprehensive, moreso because I don't know what OH is going to make of it than actually doing the course. There's 5 couples booked onto it so we might make some friends (which will be nice as I know noone in this city). We've been told to take snacky food...all I have in the house is HM cake, hmmm...

  • Well this is like torture I'm still waiting on my mini-me appearing. At 40+4 I could have a whole 8 more days to wait before an induction and that feels like an age :(

I'm also getting quite would up about being induced and it hurting me more. However when I think about my waters breaking and rushing to the hospital, I begin to think I'd rather be in control and be induced.

I'm bored bored bored right now though, what do you do whilst you wait for baby? I've cleaned and can't do much more without my hips hurting... I've sorted our finances, filled in next years calendar, made plans for Christmas, ordered presents and now I'm watching yet another programme with Dominic Littlewood on bbc1.

Good luck to ladies having their babies today - I hope it goes smoothly :)

  • Butler Helen - I know you are probably sick of people saying it but I would rest!! I don't think I've had time alone to rest in over 3 years!! Hope you are ok, going overdue isn't fun xx

Kerri - cake is a snack right?!

Bride - I have got a Rose & Rebellion carrier, although I don't think it can be used from newborn? I have been looking at Moby type carriers as they look comfy but I am really unsure what to get for the early weeks as I could do with being hands free when taking my son to and from nursery. Sorry no help really! x

I'm back in bed where it's most comfy prowling the comps board and entering everything :rotfl:

It seems my phone didn't have all of today's posts... I swear there are more now I'm on my iPad... So I'm off to catch up :).

Btw you can all have my OH he too sorts outside taps, random woodwork etc before hoovering/cleaning, then he whines about a lack of clean shirts... Well I did the washing in order of my priorities, oops.

B2B.. before buying slings have a read up on them.. the ones like the baby bjorn which dangle baby by the crotch are really bad for hip development. The wraps are much better for natural back and hip placement.

B2B - we have the close baby carrier, I really like it although it can be a bit fiddly until you get used to it (comes with handy dvd though!)

Its a semi structured wrap style carrier, I find them easier than the ones which are literally just a piece of material.

    Comes in nice colours too.

About £60 new but you should be able to bid around £20 on ebay
  • Thanks for the sling advice everyone. I've done so much reading about slings and wraps my head hurts lol! It's really difficult knowing what would be best without seeing or trying any out. DH wants to know why we can't just go to mothercare and buy one for £15, have been trying to educate him on why they are bad for baby, I think it's finally sinking in. Both the connecta and moby that we have been looking at seem to rate quite highly on baby wearing sites, so would think they are ok re baby's hips.

Is anyone going to the baby show in October? Or has anyone been before? We're thinking of going to get some discounts on things we're looking at buying before baby comes along.

    .

Sounds good! I am hoping to spend most of my leave in bed before baby comes!

Not sure if this is any use/ works for anyone but just had this emailed to me; £10 M&P voucher (again) through Emmas diary this time http://www.mamasandpapas.com/promotion/EmmasDiarySept2013?cm_mmc=Email-_-3RDPARTY-_-EmmasDiary-_-CTA

Kerri is that the baby show in London? I missed the NEC one as it was a day or two before my scan, London isn't exactly near at all but I would really like to go. Not sure my DH would let me buy too much though!

Can anyone recommend anyone on facebook or ebay that does baby bunting (with names on)?

Check out Sewthing Personal on Facebook

Just wanted to recommend NCT nearly new sales for bargains - we got some great stuff like clothes from Debenhams with the tags still on for just 50p!
