An9i77 - ouch! Sounds painful. Hope youre ok.
As for dh, ive currently got mine painting the hall, he's huffing enough about it though!! Ive just cleaned the house from top to bottom while he played candy crush and nosed on his phone so he cant really complain!!
Ive arranged that him and dd have plenty of food here, ive made sure theres plenty for dd for school packed lunch all week, ive sorted all of dd's school uniform for the week, and hung it all up in a fool proof place, with her shoes underneath. Ive even cleaned the door frames and every stair banister..... And he's huffing at painting two walls!! Grrrrr!! Id do it myself if my back wasnt in bits (oh ye and if i wasnt 2 days from due date!!!)
Rant over..... (Theres a good chance i'm nesting! My list on the fridge says i probably am!!)
39+5Still here..... but working on that!0 -
I know I've asked before but it was a while ago and I'm still no further forward. What's your opinions on the whooping cough jab? I'm 33+5 and haven't had it done yet as I'm still in 2 minds. I'm a bit unconvinced on un tested vaccinations during pregnancy. But on the other hand I don't want baby to catch whooping cough! Oh what to do. I have the feeling by the time I've made my mind up I will have given birth. When I had DD it wasn't routine to offer whopping cough jabs to preggos so obviously I didn;t have it.
I really, really need to finish packing my hospital bag. Oh and apparently Primark are selling packs of 2 nursing bras for £10. I'm going to try and get down there this week so will report back.

I had my whooping cough jab at 35+6 days the injection site was sore for 3 days afterwards. But i had no other side effects. I wasnt too sure about having it at first but since im having an autumn baby it seemed better to be safe than sorry.
Baby bean is happily kicking away still 37+1 today.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

I'm feeling cross too benice! Things like just tidying up dishes/putting washing away just don't get done unless I do them. No heavy lifting mind but annoying all the same!
Would you ladies mind telling me which baby monitors you've got? Don't really want anything fancy like a video one as its really for when its out of our room in six months time. Something basic would be great to hear breathing/crying etc. any recommendations welcome as it seems a little overwhelming!

Its great. We also have a video one, which we were given (used by family) but it was driving us nuts because it's analogue and gets interference from wireless internet etc. I will use the video one again with new baby, but after a few months will just use the digital one.Opinions please, is this 'dressy enough' for a wedding?

Hello!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Just been bumbling along! I've crept up the list, but I'm afraid I'm definitely going to queue jump as I'm booked in for induction on 11 oct.
I have to deliver early due to pre existing diabetes. Not sure how induction will go but I'm not thinking about it! I'm sure I will be fine!
Sorry to hear about your eye problems An9i. It's dreadful how diabetes can affect people and there are just so many hidden complications. I hope it doesn't take too much of the shine off things and that it can be quickly sorted out for you.
I had the whooping cough jab at 28 weeks. I felt fine after and had minimal discomfort afterwards.
Had growth scan last week and baby was transverse. Plenty of time to turn tho! Baby measured 50th centile for all but leg measurements. Legs on 90th so going to be tall I think!
Going to start getting hospital bag ready I think. There's a chance we will have to stay in if baby has low sugar levels so I'm going to get an extra bag ready in case.
Anyway hope everyone is well.
Take care

I had it, and my only reason was how giilty id feel if baby caught it because i hadnt had it. I felt the same, but did have it. Its definately up to you though.
Thanks for the primark tip, wondering if ill have time to go there tomorrow after hospital and before the school run.....

Miffy - I also had the jab. I'd have the 8 week one old ones so why not the pre-birth ones. It made my arm feel itchy for a couple of days, like an insect bite, but small price to pay to avoid illness in LO.
Maire - sorry you are being induced early, when are they inducing you? Is it because of growth problems with the baby? I know normally it is 39 weeks for diabetics.
LS Dragon - thanks, eye isn't painful as it's right inside the eyeball so no nerve endings but the frustration of not being able to see clearly is as bad as a physical pain, it's like looking through a murky cloud at the world. There's not a lot they can do until after the birth so I'm just trying to get used to it and wait for it to settle down.
At least baby is ok. I keep telling myself that there are far worse things that can happen at 36w. Only a few weeks to go now, can't come soon enough.0 -
Rant alert...one DH for sale, in fact, free to good home (doesn't even need to be that good TBH)! Will gladly clean cars, tidy garden, walk dog (though not clear up their mess in garden), but that's about it. After earlier ploy of dragging hoover out into middle of the room where he cant miss it, he takes the hoover outside, where he's been for the past 3 hours cleaning and hoovering the car - and has just told me he still needs to polish it!! And the house still hasn't been touched. Have good mind not to tell him dinner is ready and just let his get cold/burn in the oven...OK, rant over!
An9i77 - sorry to hear about your eye, hope everything turns out ok after bump arrives.
Re whooping cough, I got it done with no side effects, apart from an achey arm the first night. I get every jag going so didn't see this one being any different. My midwife told me the other day that they have seen a few cases in the area recently (they hadn't had any for a good while), so I'm glad I did.0 -
sorry to hear about your eye An9i, hope it doesn't progress much further in the last few weeks
Maire good luck with your early delivery
I had my whooping cough at 28 weeks. My big tip is to avoid the side you sleep on cos it hurts!0 -
Good luck with your induction Maire. Quite handy that you have a date to work towards!
RE the whooping cough vaccine, it's not the side effects on me that concerns me, its the possible effects of an untested vaccine on my baby in utero. But then I will be getting the routine vax at 8 weeks plus. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Will see what my MW says this week.0
