Kerri is that the baby show in London? I missed the NEC one as it was a day or two before my scan, London isn't exactly near at all but I would really like to go. Not sure my DH would let me buy too much though!
Yes, it's at Kensington. We're going from Bristol and will go on the last day (Sunday) if we go to get the best bargains.

Is anyone going to the baby show in October? Or has anyone been before? We're thinking of going to get some discounts on things we're looking at buying before baby comes along.

I went to the one in Earl's Court in 2011 when I was pregnant with DD1. I loved it, we bought a few bits and pieces including my Medela Swing as they did a package deal that included the pump, steriliser and food/bottle warmer, a couple of Medela bottles and a couple of teats.

I also got a few bits from Totsbots as I already had some reusable nappies, but needed a bucket, liners, washing potion and some mesh bags for washing.

They do some okay discounts on the day and like the Medela stand some companies did some package deals.

DH was speeding around and we barely looked at some of the stands, he's quite impatient!! :(

I also got to have a look at the Uppababy Vista pram as it was one that I was considering to buy and it was the one I got in the end. I didn't buy from the show though as I knew I could get a better deal online, but handy to have a play with and a feel.

There were some crazy stalls there, like a handmade cot which was about £3,000 to buy!!! It was beautiful, but £3,000 is bonkers money.

It's a nice day out, but take some of the discounts with a pinch of salt as you can usually get things cheaper online when you come home.

I am very tempted to go! I will ask DH what he thinks, I just imagine he will be like Lola's DH where he just zooms off and wont look at anything. I really want one of these http://www.snugglebundl.co.uk/about_us which hopefully would be cheaper there. I also wouldn't mind a few more washable nappies as I am determined to use them F/T. Other than that maybe a few freebies and a chance to look at baby items, sounds a nice day out!

Sounds good! I am hoping to spend most of my leave in bed before baby comes!

Not sure if this is any use/ works for anyone but just had this emailed to me; £10 M&P voucher (again) through Emmas diary this time http://www.mamasandpapas.com/promotion/EmmasDiarySept2013?cm_mmc=Email-_-3RDPARTY-_-EmmasDiary-_-CTA

Oooooo you blumming star!! :T:D Just got my other one today from Vic3's post. Thank you!!

Best of luck on your C Section Bella and for anyone else having inductions etc

An9i77 Awful news about your eye. I hope it's something that will get better after birth? :(

Had a lovely day today. Did my mystery shop at the supermarket so that was a nice £25 off my usual shopping bill although it wasn't the supermarket we usually use. Who cares though money off is money off!!!!

My 2 brothers came round yesterday to tidy my garden so back to loving them both now rather than being vexed with one of them! Thankfully between my OH and family I've had no end of help cleaning, painting, decorating etc so no nagging needed (and we've had people in too). Since finishing work I've also been a lot less tired and so still able to do a lot myself as no pains and baby's head still free so I haven't yet had the discomfort of baby dropping down (although I get the odd pain/pressure).

I've been given 2 moses baskets. One a bit out of shape..nothing major but I took covers off to wash and in putting them back on have somehow made it worse. It looks like I sat on it now! The other has the most hideous cover on but fundamentally is a really nice basket underneath. Both are Mamas and Papas so I'm in the process of attempting to swap the covers round...or ending up damaging 2 baskets!! Also have 2 stands and can't decide which to use - one rocks but is a dark wood and is ok looking. The other is a lovely wood but is a foldable one that doesn't rock. Decisions. decisions...

    Night everyone x
  • Well officially bold today and I don't think bean is coming anytime soon!!!

    Welcome newbies!!!

Sorry for all those having problems.... Sending hugs!!!!

Been to midwife today and 2/5 engaged, was 3/5 last week!!! Will have a sweep next Monday if bean not here... And induced 13 days over!!!

I am so bored now... Had a long list to do last week and done most of it... Only tax return left to do!!! Finished nursery yesterday.... Made curtains as well!!!! Cot changer came today, as I am paceing myself... Will build it tomorrow!!!

I went to the baby show in Birmingham.... We went on the Saturday, the only bargain I could find was a breast feeding pillow!!! But it was useful to look at prams and other bits... Feel in love with the cosatto prams!!! So it might be worth going in the Sunday as they may have more discounts as people have suggested!!!

  • Does anyone know the date of the baby show please? My EDD is 22 Oct - is it cutting it a bit fine?!

Good luck for the c-section ladies tomorrow. Pleased you'll be able to meet your little ones. Looking forward to updates.

Bangton - Lucky you with 2 moses baskets. Could you use both? One for upstairs and one for downstairs? If you only use one, I think I would use the non rocking stand. Decisions, I know!

Urgh, I'm really disliking myself for reading so much into this vaccine. I decided I would talk about it with my dad tonight as he is the most intelligent and level headed person I know and then I would have a definite decision, and after a lengthy phone call, his conclusion was "see what your mother says" :rotfl: Spoke to mum and she's the same as me and dad, pros and cons and no definitive answer but whatever decision I make, understand that it is the best decision for me and my baby at the time. I will have one last chat with the MW tomorrow and will make a decision. I'm boring myself now with fannying around with it :o

Anyway, MW tomorrow at 34 weeks. Haven't seen her for 6 weeks and I have no idea where my pee pot is. I think I might start having appointments every 2 weeks from hereon in, which would be nice as second time round it really doesn't seem like you ever see anyone. I shouldn't complain though as everything seems to be swimming along nicely.

25-27th October at Olympia Kensington so you'll either be very very frustrated and overdue or you'll have a teeny baba.

I think I'm getting that SPD or whatever it is? I had my midwife appointment today but didn't mention it cause what can they do really even if they did.

I've had abit of pain walking but nothing major but its mainly at night if I roll over to the other side it really kills and I have to do it slowly...and I do like to toss and turn ... :( And sometimes when sitting down or getting up if I move in a certain way etc it really hurts suddenly but not all time so idk just really plays up at night maybe from being still so long.

Guess something Ill just have to put up with as its not that bad atm... although I think this is first day that walking has actally been painful (but again nothing I can't bare)

Its weird thinking that I am going to have baby this month or next :D I do hope its early!! 4 weeks to go as of tomorrow.

Third night in a row I have woken up at ridiculous o clock feeling like I'm going to be sick! Has anyone else had a return to morning sickness at this late stage in pregnancy? Sadly not just a morning/night thing but seems to linger in the day too. Hopefully just 2-5 weeks left of pregnancy! 35 w today.
