I've not been told to bring milk so presuming its the same as last time the small glass bottles with the disposable teats :) nice and easy.

I work in a hospital and they don't have sterilising equipment, facilities to boil water, use powdered formula, so the only option would be to buy the ready made bottles and disposable teats, I have seen these in supermarkets but they are ridiculously expensive

That's a point should really set my steriliser up and have a play with it before baby comes :) and OH has decided we need a new car seat because the one we have isn't girly enough lol he wants her to be a girly girl :) xx

I've just had another meltdown. This time brother slagging off my OH just as I have been anticipating all day (he is coming to do building work tomorrow and I had to ring him to find out what time). He always does it, I know he does it yet it upsets me every time.

OH has no idea..there's no love lost don't get me wrong but OH wouldn't put me in that position when he knows I adore my brother (no idea why). Brother will though..wish he'd grow up. Apparently my OH is lazy which is such bull it should really be laughable if I hadn't got so worked up.

Also, my mum bless her won't stop going on about me going to hospital for baby as she thinks I'm high risk due to having small feet. Apparently that means small hips and a struggle to get baby out. I view birthing centre on Wednesday and obviously I am doing that as I believe that's where I'll go - not hospital so I'm getting a tad wound up by the incessant 'so you'll go to hospital then?' questioning!!! Then I sit here feeling an ar5e because she has bought me flowers today and is generally the nicest mum I could wish for!

And I miss my dad badly tonight because it dawned on me that I don't know how he'd be behaving right now himself!!

My baby is also starting to hurt my insides. He kicks in the same place repeatedly. Discomfort I expected but I feel a bit 'raw' now underneath my skin. I've had to do the dreaded googling to see if it's just me!

    And relax...............

    (sorry girls..) x

Does anyone else get rib-ache? I tend to get it in the evening, after I've had my dinner and it's really uncomfortable. It's only on one side (my left) which was same last time. I think its everything expanding and pushing against my rib cage. Kind of a dull ache with the odd sharp twinge, particularly when I have been sitting up. It's an invitation to lie down all evening!

Apart from that I've not had a bad pregnancy really, so can't really complain, compared to what some ladies go through.

Looking forward to getting it over with though.

Just caught up with thread. Can't remember everything I've just read though.
Baby groups / antenatal- I'm not good at getting to know new people but you'll find that having babies the same age lying on a mat in front of you breaks the ice ;) I have good friends now from baby classes at Surestart with DS.
Gifts- I've never been good at asking for things from people. Even as a child I never would say what I wanted cos it made me feel awkward. We don't need much as its a second boy and I've picked up some lovely bits myself. My SIL has asked what we'd like and haven't responded, my brother bought us patio furniture last time as mum had got us a pram and he likes to spoil his little sister. But especially since baby will only be tiny at Christmas I'm stuck for ideas. Money for a savings account would be best.
My closest friends gave me a baby shower Sunday. Was lovely to spend time together without kids- usually never finish a sentence lol. I chose not to invite many people only oldest friends as don't want people to feel like they have to buy gifts. These girls would buy something anyway. Anyway it was like old times, we had a great laugh. But yes some of the gifts I will try to return. One girl bought me a pack of 5 bodysuits from Boots. I have enough bodysuits to clothe octuplets in newborn and 0-3 tbh. The size she's picked up is "Tiny Baby", which is up to 7.5lb. DS was 9lb 10 born and outgrew newborn within 2/3 weeks and 0-3 by 2 months old.

Christmas- DS had a gorgeous Santa suit but since it is 6-9 months I have bought 3 warm Christmas babygros/ all-in-ones from ebay this weekend. All 3-6 month. I have bought glitter snowdomes that take two photos so will be putting both boys Christmas baby photos in and giving to family as Christmas gifts ;)
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.

Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013 :)
  • Sending big hugs Bangton. It's not fair of your brother to do that to you at any time, let alone when you're pregnant. Also, it's completely up to you where you have your baby - don't let anyone talk you into anything as you'll regret it, it's your baby. Big hugs xx

  • Morning all, hope everyone is well. My hospital supplies the ready made formula if needed - not sure if you plan on FF from the start, but we are planning on giving breastfeeding a go, however, I've heard they try everything to make sure you stick with breastfeeding - my friend ended up sending her hubby to the 24 hour tesco across the road from the hospital to get ready made formula as she was fed up arguing with the midwives when she asked for it on the ward!

Feeling a bit rubbish today. DH was on a boys weekend at the weekend and still feeling rough and tired, and being a grumpy sod. He changed his plans on Sunday about when he was coming home, so arrived home 3 hours early and I wasn't in and he didn't have his key, and there was no food in either, all my fault of course. So yesterday I dragged myself around the supermarkets and ended up in agony with pelvic pain. So manage to make his dinner when he got in from work, then he jumped in the shower and cleared off to bed without even saying good night! To top it all, there's been a few break ins near us recently, and I was so annoyed with him I forgot to lock the back door last night! Thankfully nothing happened but it didn't improve his mood any when he went to let the dog out this morning and the door was already open! Ah well, I get peace as he's working all day, and I'm going for dinner with the girls tonight! If he's lucky, I'll pop something in the slow cooker for his dinner, otherwise he can do his own!

So now I'm kinda panicking over how on earth he's gonna manage working when bump is here and up through the night, coz he's such a grouch after one weekend. I honestly don't think he has any idea how much a baby disrupts things - all I hear just now is he can't wait til bump arrives so he can have two weeks holiday from work!! Agh, please can someone tell me I'm worrying over nothing, and he will be fine and all men are clueless?!

Bridetobe my OH isn't in denial about how much baby will change things but he is terrible if he is tired! He didn't sleep well Sunday night and spent all of yesterday evening sulking when we got back from work. I'm ok on little sleep but worried about the prospect of Oscar the grouch coming home every night for 6 months!
