So now I'm kinda panicking over how on earth he's gonna manage working when bump is here and up through the night, coz he's such a grouch after one weekend. I honestly don't think he has any idea how much a baby disrupts things - all I hear just now is he can't wait til bump arrives so he can have two weeks holiday from work!! Agh, please can someone tell me I'm worrying over nothing, and he will be fine and all men are clueless?!
Mine keeps suggesting we take up archery?!?!?! He's also convinced that he'll be able to go raving every other weekend after I've spent all day everyday looking after his child. They are quite frankly ridiculous ideas, and I'm convinced men are just in a little bubble of denial until it all finally hits them. Men are the worst for committing to things afterall. I think until the babe arrives they don't want to think about the how they're going to be responsible for a little life, or that the world as they know it is about to change. If they do then they think it's all going to be doom or gloom....well that's what my OH thinks anyway eugh. He is excited about the baby coming along though.

I have had confirmation of price match refund from Kiddicare re Jumperoo of £35.83 so final cost £44.16.

Due to be delivered in the next hour - not that it will be used for a while!

OH away last night & had a great night's sleep! Was up a couple of times for the loo but was after 8.00am when I actually woke up properly.

My OH loves his bed too much too - he's in for a big shock! He is getting excited though & is very loving at the moment (he is usually, but just more so). Ahhh.

  • Thanks guys. He is excited about bump coming, and is looking forward to being a dad. I think the grumpiness is either he is genuinely shattered after the weekend (he's not much of a drinker, and right up until the last minute was debating whether to go for one night or two), or its just hit him that this is how he's gonna feel when bump is up several times a night! He's also the first of his friends to have a baby (though the last of his siblings), so I suspect that has a lot to do with it as well. I'm also struggling a lot just now to get anything done around the house (I stopped working at 26 weeks, and now I'm 37, so had been doing it all) and either it comes down to DH to do it when hes already working 60+ hours a week or I do it and end up in tears with pain, and he obv doesn't like seeing me like that. Never mind, only a few weeks left of this before our little bean arrives!

I've just had another meltdown. This time brother slagging off my OH just as I have been anticipating all day (he is coming to do building work tomorrow and I had to ring him to find out what time). He always does it, I know he does it yet it upsets me every time.

OH has no idea..there's no love lost don't get me wrong but OH wouldn't put me in that position when he knows I adore my brother (no idea why). Brother will though..wish he'd grow up. Apparently my OH is lazy which is such bull it should really be laughable if I hadn't got so worked up.

Also, my mum bless her won't stop going on about me going to hospital for baby as she thinks I'm high risk due to having small feet. Apparently that means small hips and a struggle to get baby out. I view birthing centre on Wednesday and obviously I am doing that as I believe that's where I'll go - not hospital so I'm getting a tad wound up by the incessant 'so you'll go to hospital then?' questioning!!! Then I sit here feeling an ar5e because she has bought me flowers today and is generally the nicest mum I could wish for!

And I miss my dad badly tonight because it dawned on me that I don't know how he'd be behaving right now himself!!

My baby is also starting to hurt my insides. He kicks in the same place repeatedly. Discomfort I expected but I feel a bit 'raw' now underneath my skin. I've had to do the dreaded googling to see if it's just me!

    And relax...............

    (sorry girls..) x

Hip size and foot size have no correlation. My auntie was sent for an x ray 20 years ago when she was having twins to make sure her pelvis was big enough as she is only about 5ft and has a tiny frame. I think the exact words used were 'oh it's ok you'd fit a bus through there'. And sure enough when she came to have her last son after the twins out popped a 10lb 8oz baby no problem!

I asked the consultant this when expecting DS2 and she basically said she's seen 6ft women have problems delivering, and she's seen 5ft women have no problems delivering and vice versa. It's just one of those things you dont know until you go through it, irrespective of shoe size.

Re. hospitals providing bottles, it varies from place to place. I saw a sign in my hospital saying that they provide sterile bottles but you have to bring your own formula. Personally I'm planning to BF so not too worried, but had previously gone and bought 2 tommy tippee sterilised bottles (about £3 from Boots) and two cartons of Aptimel first milk for newborns. I'll pop them in the hospital bag, just in case.

Had my first NCT class last night, it was quite fun and informative and nice to meet other couples. OH found it v hard to keep a straight face sometimes, but we're both quite giggly anyway (we laughed through our wedding vows!) and it was a nice informal group.

Don't know for sure, but would assume not as they have e mailed the amount they will be refunding. I would have thought that's the end of it.
  • sorry ttc40 seemed to have crossed post on other thread, thanks for replying.

i was thinking that as well because they put an actual amount to refund that would be it, well i went ahead and ordered it anyway as its a really good price so hopefully everything will work out! :j

ive got another scan today to check fluid levels and meeting with consultant after, im kinda scared they will say just come in today if the fluid level has gone down again, oh is in work as hes just started a new job so mums coming with me (even at 31, she insisted!).
I went over my maternity bag last night got the stuff for baby and have the basics for me, but could add more and i even shaved my legs! which was a feet in itself!:T

hoping though all will be fine and i manage to get at least another week in!
have no idea about formula/bottles in my hospital and didnt even think about it till i saw it on here! but if worst comes to worst ill get parents/oh to pop out on an emergency run!

Having such a lazy day today, have a day off and have literally not moved from the sofa. Really needed it though, have not been sleeping much at night due to heartburn, sore hips, toilet trips etc! Still feel a bit guilty for being so lazy though.

Starting to get to the point where some of baby's movements are quite painful, probably a combination of him being stronger and having less room to move.

Hope everyone is well, i hadn't really thought much about formula in hospital, must get some to bring with me in case they dont supply it. Good luck with your scan cleofish!
