As for classes etc. I find people are really friendly and interested in bump - you'll have a lot in common with people attending aquanatal and antenatal classes. It'll be great to start making friends and a support network now. If you are staying at home, you might find your confidence improving if you decide to go to mum & baby groups and other activties.
almost tempted to get these today! half price at £6. I wasn't sure whether to get 0-3 mths or 3-6 mths as I'm having an early October baby. Then I realised I'm gonna go crazy with Christmas outfits and accessories! I think I'll get 3-6 months as baby will be almost 3 months by Christmas day. 35+2
Obviously it depends on size of baby at birth, but I found last time that it was better to work towards the upper end of the clothing range ie something 3-6 months I would expect to last until baby is 6 months. I'm also having an October baby (end Sept actually - I have a planned C section) and I'm assuming she'll still be in 0-3 by Christmas and then 3-6 til around March. Its quite good timing with the seasons actually as she can go into the next clothes size in time for spring.0 -
Those are adorable be nice! Where did you find them?
Hopelass I feel the same; although people would probably say I was outgoing inside I always feel totally nervous and worry how I will start conversations without sounding like a total weirdo... I tend to say too much to people I don't know and I'm too old now for anyone to find it endearing!
Today I had a sort of non baby shower at our house. I didn't want to do a shower as I don't expect anyone to get any presents but was a bit peeved my best friend hadn't organised anything get together wise
Or nibbles etc. last month. So I invited about 15 of my good friends, most said they were coming, some didn't bother to reply. Stated up until 1 last night marinating meat and making 4 different salads for 12 people... 4 text me this morning to say they weren't coming!! I was really annoyed as I'd put a lot of effort in and spent money on food etc and it ended up being a bit lame... I'm sure I'm just feeling a bit sensitive but I'm feeling a bit peed off with my friends at the moment grrrr!

I found them at the mama and papas outlet in Huddersfield. They had santa outfits and pudding outfits too!
I'm glad you had some people turn up to the shower - it would have been much worse if no one had turned up. It was nice of people to let you know they couldn't come. At my baby shower about 8/10 people turned up and now I know who will stick their neck out for me a bit more than others.0 -
Lobey- sorry to hear that. My 3rd sister offered to sort out my baby shower months ago....2wks ago I have up and arranged it with my 16yo daughter but unfortunately one of my other sisters can only do next Sunday or the week before I'm due. So I've had barely any time to prepare for it and lots can't come now as its too last minute, which I'm gutted about. We've said no to presents as we have everything now.
BeNice - love the hat set, so cute! I've ordered this for £4 from
eBay

Going to take pic of little man asleep in it for our family Xmas card.:rotfl: They always nag me for new pics of baby!
Anyone suffering from PPGP? I've had it really bad today - wasted today in bed! Don't know anyone that's had it to find out how they managed it.

Hi everyone and thank you so much to those who were empathetic when I had a maternity leave meltdown on Friday. As always your support is amazing and it helped to know others felt the same : )
Happy to report I'm over it! Tomorrow I am getting up and cleaning the house and vacuuming the car before fitting isofix base. It's great...I have a whole day to do it instead of squeezing it round work! I'll be able to eat what I want instead of having to take a crappy sandwich to work too. Then on Tuesday joiner and my brother (whose a builder) come round to fit wardrobes, fix a broken kitchen drawer, re-align a gate post and fit some new interior doors. So I'll be on hand to drive out and get them chicken sarnies. Wednesday is birthing centre with the OH and then other brother and sister come round towards end of week to help build cot and paint little bluebirds on wall (my sister is an artist).
So all my fretting about losing 60hrs to work have gone (well at the moment they have!)
Bit worried - I haven't booked any antenatal classes at all. Is it too late at 36 weeks. For the birthing lessons I'm not fussed but I wanted to meet other mums to be now I don't work!
Car wise - I have been really looking at Kias myself lately. Really attracted by the 7 year warranty as standard although personally I think if I were only having one car I'd go with the Venga. For a while I'm making do with a car that only fits pram but I think it will grate after a while, especially as I wouldn't squeeze things on back seat with baby on there as well. There's a lot to be said for a big boot!!0 -

I still have it now 5 months after the birth. To be honest - very little helped with mine - crutches with the first pregnancy but that wasn't viable with a baby in tow and pregnancy number two, and that was about it... it was gritted teeth and resting as much as possible.
I'm now in the waiting list for physio to see if I can get some resolution to it as I'm in so much pain I keep crying with it.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Evening all
I'm feeling the hormonal meltdowns coming on toothis is 3rd baby and I'm also thinking I don't know how I'm going to cope with baby and a toddler and everything else I have to juggle, also want baby to come now because I'm ridiculously uncomfortable feeling loads of pressure down below, aching all in bump, legs and groin and I've got heartburn
and I nearly forgot I'm constipated and my piles hurt
sorry for the TMI need to get it off my chest.
Went to visit my friend Friday who was due the day after me, had a lovely cuddle with her baby he's so small my babies have never been so little it was nice.
I haven't had any sort of baby shower, I've never had one with any of my babies, not to worry
I'm going to go to bed shortly and try to sleep I'm so tired and grumpy but don't seem to be able to sleep i just lie there, I'm sure ill actually sleep more when baby is actually born lol
Take care all

Dizziblonde, thanks for the info. I've had the odd bit of pain from it in the last month or two but today has been horrendous. I still have work full time for another 5wks and am wondering how I will cope if it happens there. I have a maternity support belt I am going to try and use. Really hope physio can help you, thought it would go once I have little man.DD1 June 1997

Sorry, bit of a rant
My so called friends are useless!! Out of my 3 pregnancies, I've had no "baby shower/get together" where as they've given each other a baby shower, and one who is due 2 weeks after me is having one. They had a girly evening the other night with drinks and nail painting and stuff, and I've just seen they've had a night out together!! I'm actually tempted to say sod the lot of them and try finding new friends (if only I could). I haven't seen one friend for nearly 2 months now. They will only contact me if they want something from me.
Rant over.
Hopefully they DD's bunkbeds are coming tomorrowbe nice to finally start getting rooms sorted.
Hope everyone else is having a better time

Thanks, my main issue was that some were friends I've had for 25 years who live 5 mins away. Never bothered to reply and then one of them said she was on holiday in Italy and didn't realise she wouldn't be back in time. Just annoying as would have gone away this weekend id id known people would flake since its OHs birthday next weekend and we aren't able to go away as we have all day NCT classes...
Think the grump is lifting now in time for work grump tomorrow!0
